Down to Cochran's Hail Mary and McDaniel's sweet Tea

No sooner than I mention Cochran bringing the pork home this morning, does former Gov. Haley Barbour coax Brett Favre into cutting a commercial celebrating and endorsing the MS Porker! Hey, all's fair in political payback, right? Oh, wait, I bet they didn't want that to leak out before Tuesday...
Breitbart: NFL legend Brett Favre has endorsed the re-election of Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), cutting a television ad for the six-term incumbent days ahead of a runoff election against Tea Party-backed state senator Chris McDaniel.

“I’ve learned through football that strong leadership makes the difference between winning and losing. And when it comes to our state’s future, trust me: Mississippi can win — and win big with Thad Cochran as our strong voice in Washington,” Favre says in the ad. “Thad Cochran always delivers, just like he did during Katrina.”

But a drunk-driving accident involving Favre's brother and the death of one of their friends raises questions about whether the unusual endorsement is political payback to former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who is strongly backing Cochran.
You can keep reading this in-depth piece for all the sordid details (including Barbour eventually pardoning Scott Favre on his last day in office), but that's precisely what this last minute endorsement is: political payback.

However, the establishment will still provide yet one more failsafe just in case the Favre doesn't dupe Mississippians. Perhaps the King of RINOs can seal the deal for Cochran? Don't expect his former veep candidate to sit idly by, though...
TPM: McCain (R-AZ) will travel to Mississippi on Sunday to campaign for incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), The Hill reported.

With a few days left before the runoff election, several establishment GOP figures have come out in support of Cochran as he attempts to fight off aggressive opposition from tea party state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R). McDaniel has received support from McCain’s 2008 running mate, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R).

“Chris McDaniel is a proven conservative fighter with undeniably impressive, tangible and needed results,” Palin wrote Tuesday on her Facebook page. “He's gone above and beyond in his capacity as a citizen, attorney, and citizen legislator to stop the Obama agenda.”
That's not all Sarah had to say. Besides giving a glimpse of the 'proven conservative fighter' that the media bias ignores, Palin laid into the Republican establishment, acknowledging how they constantly fight for the status quo and against conservatives more so than they've ever done past or present against Obama's 'fundamental transformation,' a point that Levin makes daily.
The more things change the more they stay the same? Seems so! If the national GOP machine spent as much time fighting President Obama's disastrous and dangerous agenda as they've spent fighting that great conservative candidate Chris McDaniel, well, maybe they'd have been successful at stopping Obama's "fundamental transformation" of our country. Negative results from Obama fulfilling that one promise of his to transform America are just beginning to be felt at home and abroad.

Let's cut through the GOP Establishment's rhetoric and the predictable media bias in Mississippi's U.S. Senate race and look directly at the record. Chris McDaniel is a proven conservative fighter with undeniably impressive, tangible and needed results. He's gone above and beyond in his capacity as a citizen, attorney, and citizen legislator to stop the Obama agenda. We need to send this fighter to Washington where he will continue his fight for all of us by shaking up the status quo and by effectually defending our Constitution. Take a look at Chris' legislative and personal accomplishments for the constitutional conservative cause here, and see the recognition he's received by those who know him best. Election day is just [next week]. Please send a message to the career politicians who sure seem satisfied with the trajectory our nation is on, because they sure don't lift a finger to help elect the guys they KNOW will be the fighters for American exceptionalism in DC. Instead, they ignore their opportunity to stop the damaging leftist policies the people do not want, and instead choose to put all these resources into trying to defeat a courageous, proven Republican who's smart enough to stay independent of any political machine on any side of the aisle for the sake of We the People. Please support Chris McDaniel for U.S. Senate on June 24th.
