The love of a father and a son: the Bush Presidents

The news of an American president's passing, regardless of political persuasion, usually gives citizens pause to reflect on the individual, American living in general and perhaps one's own mortality, seemingly surpassing the bickering of the day, if but for a fleeting moment, to restore some semblance of civility above the common discord. And the loss of 41 has been no exception.

Late Friday night, shortly after 10:10pm, the country was alerted to the passing of President George H. W. Bush. Of course, from then and throughout the week, the flags have been lowered and the media has been somewhat at bay (ok, not really), as a nation mourns the passing of it's 41st president.

By now, with such a lengthy life of 94 years, many books have covered the presidency of Bush 41, and one can sift through any number of those to find a plethora of approval and criticism for the man. If I'm honest, I've found both admirable traits and undesirable decisions of either Bush's presidencies. Nonetheless, that doesn't diminish the character of either as good Americans who wanted the best for their country. Adding to that, we've bore witness to a historic presidential relationship of father and son. And it's upon that intimate bond that's been one of the more powerful images to behold throughout 41's final send-off...
WaPo: This is new. Americans have never watched a president say goodbye to another president who was also his father. And the moment proved to be as personal as it was historic.

As George W. Bush spoke before the casket containing the body of George H.W. Bush at Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, his face was a map of pain. He held his composure until the end of his eulogy. Then his voice shook and, finally, he broke down and sobbed. ...

“Through our tears, let us know the blessings of knowing and loving you, a great and noble man, the best father a son or daughter could have,” Bush said, tearfully slumping in his grief.

There has long been speculation about the relationship between the first father and son to reach the White House since John Adams and John Quincy Adams two centuries ago. (The younger Adams learned of the elder’s death only after his burial.) Historians have scoured the path both Bushes took...

But the reality was simpler, historians say, and was visible in George W. Bush’s grief, as the 43rd president remembered the 41st.

“We tested his patience," his oldest son told mourners. “I know I did.”

Rather than Greek drama, the Bushes had an ordinary father-son bond that played out in extraordinary settings, these scholars contend. There were good times and bad, periods of distance and rebellion, the pain of loss and the joy of triumph. But whatever the weather, the climate was always loving.
Watch this POWERFUL eulogy from a son to a father...

...and reciprocally, we see the love of a father for his son, his entire family, and undoubtedly his nation...
CP: The final words of President George H. W. Bush tell us a lot about the kind of man he was, and especially the kind of father he was.

At 94 years old and ailing from Parkinson’s and the pains of old age, Bush said he was ready to go. He told his family he wanted to be with Barbara, his wife of 73 years, and Robin, the child they lost long ago to leukemia. And in a final conversation, his oldest son, George W. Bush, told him he had been a “wonderful father.” His father’s reply—and final words—were: “I love you, too.”

These final sentiments from Bush were touching and not surprising.

The death of that little girl Robin 65 years ago was the enduring heartbreak of his and his wife’s life. ...

George H. W. Bush said he “learned the true meaning of grief when Robin died.” Though he firmly believed she was “in God’s loving arms,” the pain never went away. ...

In his final moments, George H. W. Bush was thinking about reunification with that three-year-old girl.

Also poignant was the fact that the parting words the elder Bush heard was that he had been a wonderful father. It was fitting that the oldest Bush child, now the family patriarch, would express that sentiment for the family.

George W. referred to his father as “the world’s greatest dad.” At the start of his Republican convention speech in Philadelphia in August 2000, in a subtle reference to President Bill Clinton allegedly calling him “daddy’s boy” two days earlier, George W. looked toward his father’s seat and proclaimed before a national audience, “I am proud to be your son.”

...the takeaway is this: George W. Bush considered his father his “hero.” And he certainly wasn’t the only Bush child that felt that way. And for a dad, even one of so many great achievements, that’s a pretty good way to go.
May George be reunited with his beloved Barbara and daughter Robin, glorifying the Lord God Almighty.
REMEMBER thy servant, O Lord, according to the favour which thou bearest unto thy people, and grant that, increasing in knowledge and love of thee, he may go from strength to strength, in the life of perfect service, in thy heavenly kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, ever, one God, world without end. Amen.

The reason to be thankful...

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. ~ 1 Timothy 4:4-5
Despite our constant inundations, we have a lot to be thankful for in this great nation, namely the blessings bestowed on us by God Almighty. And it is with that truth that we're reminded of the real story of Thanksgiving...

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! God Bless.

A Blessed Armistice/Veterans Day!

Yesterday, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, which in the U.S. later became known as Veterans Day, yet many observe the latter today. Here's why...
SL: On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the First World War, then known as “the Great War.” Though the Treaty of Versailles, signed on June 28, 1919, marked the official end of the war, the American public still viewed November 11 as the date that marked the end of the Great War. The following year, President Woodrow Wilson commemorated November 11 as Armistice Day.

Unfortunately, “the war to end all wars” did not, and the United States was soon embroiled in World War II and then the Korean War. In 1954, after lobbying efforts by veterans’ service organizations, the 83rd U.S. Congress amended the 1938 act that had made Armistice Day a holiday, striking the word “Armistice” in favor of “Veterans.” President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the legislation on June 1, 1954. From then on, November 11 became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

In 1968 Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Bill. By celebrating Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day, (all celebrated on Mondays) this ensured that federal employees would receive four three-day weekends. The observation of Veterans Day was moved to the fourth Monday in October, and the first Veterans Day under the new law was Monday, October 25, 1971. Many states disapproved of this change and continued to observe the holiday on its original date of November 11. Recognizing that the actual date of Veterans Day carried historical and patriotic significance to many Americans, in 1975 President Gerald Ford signed legislation returning the observation of Veterans Day back to November 11.
Regardless of the slight discrepancy in commemoration and observance, Veterans Day, as we've come to recognize it, honors the service of ALL American veterans, living or deceased. We especially thank our living veterans who've served honorably during times of war or peace. So despite the politics of the day, the vast majority of our grateful nation say, "THANK YOU and GOD BLESS!"

...just another leftist mob

It’s no longer the media, it’s the Democrat media mob... The hard news people on TV should just tell the truth and call themselves liberal commentators and stop pretending to be objective journalists. The way the media speaks to our President is not acceptable in any professional environment. Speaking over others, interrupting others and their snide and cynical attacks disguised as questions would never fly in the workplace, yet they continue to treat the president this way. ~ The Mark Levin Show, 11/7/18
How is it that this is unacceptable among the press corps and worthy of pulling one's press pass...

...but this is perfectly acceptable by the same gaggle of reporters, who are excoriating the White House for pulling this hack's pass?!

NEWSFLASH: These people are NOT reporters. They're exactly what Levin (and Rush) called them: the Democrat media mob.

And it continues with the same media online. Just search "Neil Munro" and "Jim Acosta". Granted, one set of articles are older than the other, but the press attitudes are obvious: disdain for the former, sympathy for the latter, in respect to both press individuals and presidents. It's undeniable, yet they claim there's no liberal bias. Riiight.

Hey, American media, here's another word to search: objective.

I know, seems like a foreign concept these days.

2018 Midterms: appears that Trumpism won and progressivism lost

So, where are we the morning after? Not sure if things ended up with anyone fully satisfied, certainly not for Dems, and we didn't get the routing we'd hoped for. However, in the most general of terms, Trumpism won and progressivism lost...
Democrats are getting the party they want, and it can’t win in purple and red states. Republicans are getting the party they didn’t want, and it can. And that made all the difference last night, in an election that turned out to be profoundly disappointing for progressives. How disappointing? Josh Kraushaar and “Abolish ICE” progressive Sean McElwee had drawn up a list pre-election of the key races as he saw them for the evening – Republicans won all nine of them.

The Blue Wave that had been so highly anticipated last night never materialized. A wave election, however you define it, does more than elect 30-35 House members and flip at this juncture just one Senate seat. A wave election is a combo punch of wins all over the place, including in places that push the margins of where you thought a party could win. We saw a true wave election in 2010 for Republicans. There was no such repudiation offered by Resistance Democrats in 2018.

Yes, Democrats took the House, as anticipated – the combination of retirements and the backlash of suburban voters overwhelmed a GOP where many of its members had become lackadaisical in their approach to doing the work required to win elections. But when your most significant statewide victories for Democrats are defeating Scott Walker and Dean Heller, it’s a far cry from how things looked pre-Kavanaugh.

So today we wake up to a Republican Party that is decidedly more Trumpian, having seen the elimination of its most moderate and Trump-critical members, and the support of those who embraced Trump emphatically on the campaign trail and in policy preferences. The only candidate to win statewide who could be fairly described as a Trump critic is Mitt Romney, and even he will arrive in Washington to play the balancing game in a period of investigations and confirmations. And on both scores, it’s full speed ahead, with subpoena power for the House and an emboldened majority in the Senate. ...

This election featured the metropolitan backlash we expected, and it delivered the House to Democrats and eradicated the suburban moderates from the GOP. It just wasn’t enough to form a wave, hampered by the economy, by Kavanaugh, and by a challenging map. It furthered President Trump’s goals of the kind of coalition he wants. After two years of often uncomfortable relationships with Paul Ryan and Congress, he now has a foil in Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats. We shall see what use he makes of them.
And about that 'blue wave'...yeah, NO. Dems won the House, but Trump won the election...
While Tuesday night was not a complete win for Republicans, there was no blue wave, either. By most measures, Republicans beat the odds of history and nearly everyone’s expectations, while Democrats were left disappointed as the fantasy of Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Gillum, Stacey Abrams and others winning fizzled. Not one new progressive Democrat was successful bursting onto the scene. It will take a few days to process the meaning of this year’s election returns, but the instant analysis is clear: Democrats may have won the House, but Trump won the election.

As I always say, in politics, what is supposed to happen tends to happen. I predicted in August that the Democrats would take the House but that alone was not enough for most Democrats. As much as this year’s midterms offered an obvious opportunity to rebuke President Trump, little of what the arrogant Democrats and members of the mainstream media expected would happen actually did. So much of what they said turned out to be wrong that it will take a while before the significance becomes clear. And if the 2018 midterms prove anything, it is that Trump is standing strong while Democrats and their allies who thought Trump would have been affirmatively rejected are in fact the ones who have themselves been denied.

Democrats have underperformed in comparison with the historical markers and general expectations of a midterm cycle. The president’s party loses 37 seats in the House on average in midterm elections when his approval is below 50 percent — but Democrats aren’t projected to pick up nearly that many seats. No liberal will want to admit it, but Trump is an asset to the Republican Party, while President Barack Obama was a disaster for the Democratic Party.
In general terms though (which seem to historically equate to a loss of 30 House seats for a president's midterm), Obama's first midterm loss was rather historic (-63) compared to Trump's, who defied the odds with -27, averting disaster and making a little history of his own...
The 2018 midterm election wasn’t a disaster for Donald Trump like it usually is for the president’s party: Republicans strengthened their control over the Senate even as the lost command of the House for the first time in eight years.

How unusual is that? It’s only the third time in the past 104 years that the party holding the White House has gained seats in the Senate in a mid-term election while losing seats the House. The same split outcome also occurred in 1970, 1962 and 1914.
That's not without saying things won't be challenging for the president's agenda (and for Washington to simply work for the people, instead of the ensuing special interest vindettas!), but that does put things in perspective. Also in perspective, not all of the added Democratic House members were progressive darlings. Blue Dogs were certainly added to the mix. And Nance may face an impending battle of her own...
Nancy Pelosi won’t have much time to relish her party’s takeover of the House.

Though she played a key role in helping Democrats regain the majority for the first time since 2011, Pelosi faces a new battle: regaining the speaker’s gavel amid grumbling from a growing minority of rank-and-file Democrats about the need for new leadership.

The San Francisco Democrat, who has led her party in the House since 2003 including four years as speaker, said Tuesday night that she’s confident she will be elected speaker.
Despite the hearsay, I'm pretty confident that Democrats will re-seat her as Speaker out of spite! But another term of Pelosi re-wrecking the House might be what's required for a realignment in a few short years. We'll have to wait and see.

In hindsight, and despite the close races (in which we undoubtedly have work to improve), House members got the short end of the stick. Campaign promises that were passed through the Republican House often fizzled in the Senate under Mitch McConnell's leadership; yet with poor leadership of its own (quitting Ryan, I'm coining that one) and equally poor optics, regional representatives took the daggers for it. Providentially, Senate Dems made complete ASSES of themselves during the Kavanaugh hearings that woke Republican voters up (in addition to the border crisis, despite the media's insistence that it did more harm) to the kind of wacko birds that were seeking power in the U.S. Senate, thus enabling common sense Americans to assemble a Red Wall to stop their trajectory of overthrowing government under a Trump administration.

President Trump responded to the midterm results this morning...

ADDENDUM: Hmm, there could also be something to this line of thought concerning House losses...

Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration protects all Americans

Charlie Kirk wrote an excellent piece yesterday explaining exactly why Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration protects all Americans. Well worth the read...
President Trump’s actions announced Thursday and in previous days to protect our southern border from illegal immigrants should be welcomed by all Americans because they will protect our national security and reduce the flow of deadly illegal drugs into our country.

The president is right when he calls the entry of illegal immigrants gathered in caravans now traveling through Mexico “an invasion.” While his critics accuse the president of playing politics with the immigration issue, in reality he is fulfilling his responsibility to defend our nation by sending several thousand troops to protect our border and taking other actions.

In remarks at the White House on Thursday the president said he will require immigrants seeking asylum in the U.S. to “lawfully present themselves” at a port of entry.

President Trump also announced the end of the “catch and release” policy under which illegal immigrants apprehended by U.S. law enforcement officers are given court dates and then released – enabling many to melt into the population, never show up in court and remain in the U.S. illegally.
"Illegal immigration affects the lives of all Americans. Illegal immigration hurts American workers; burdens American taxpayers; and undermines public safety; and places enormous strain on local schools, hospitals, and communities in general, taking precious resources away from the poorest Americans who need them most. Illegal immigration costs our country billions and billions of dollars each year."
"We’ve issued 40 million green cards since 1970, which means the permanent residency and a path to citizenship for many, many people. But we will not allow our generosity to be abused by those who would break our laws, defy our rules, violate our borders, break into our country illegally. We won’t allow it. Mass, uncontrolled immigration is especially unfair to the many wonderful, law-abiding immigrants already living here who followed the rules and waited their turn."
The president’s plan to review and tighten the controls over our immigrant asylum process also makes sense. As he pointed out, U.S. law requires that people applying for asylum need to show a “credible fear” of prosecution for political, religious or a small number of other factors – not simply that they are coming to America to escape poverty and improve their living standards.

We’ll know more about President Trump’s proposals next week, when he said he will issue a “comprehensive” executive order on immigration.
Kirk delves further into the emotionally charged "disconnect between politicians and influencers who manufacture ideas of open borders and ordinary citizens who are the emotional and ideological consumers of those same ideas," with a stark realization that will certain result in peril for our national sovereignty...
As President Trump said Thursday: "If these caravans are allowed into our country, only bigger and more emboldened caravans will follow – and you see that's what's happening now."

Once we lose our border protection, the road to citizenship, voting and welfare benefits for a flood of new immigrants will be all but paved.

Americans now buying caravan T-shirts – based on their emotions of guilt, compassion, and outrage – will gradually see those emotions replaced with fear, frustration, and resentment.

But by then it will be too late. Our nation will have already slid too far down the path of losing its identity. My advice to President Trump is to hold firm. Yes, America is a nation of immigrants – but the immigrants have to enter legally. Throwing open our borders to everyone who wants to enter is impractical and could cause grave harm to our nation and the American people.

14th Amendment was NEVER meant to confer citizenship on children of illegal aliens

"Does the Constitution confer birthright citizenship on the children of illegal aliens? Of course it doesn’t!"
Republicans, particularly elected ones, but quite honestly ALL Americans of every political stripe, would do well to educate themselves on the original intent of the Framers to more accurately understand what the 14th Amendment was actually proposed and ratified for...
CR: Tuesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin ripped Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., for his response to President Trump’s statement that he plans to issue an executive order to end birthright citizenship.

Ryan claimed the 14th Amendment creates the birthright citizenship and that therefore such an executive order would be unconstitutional.

“There’s been no law passed that conveys birthright citizenship onto illegal aliens. There’s been no Supreme Court decision that definitively confers birthright citizenship onto illegal alien children. Nobody’s a hundred percent certain how this came to be. But everybody seems to be a hundred percent certain that the president can’t fix it. … Well, does the Constitution confer birthright citizenship on the children of illegal aliens? Of course it doesn’t!”

Levin replayed a clip from his show in 2015, in which he laid out the stated purpose of the 14th Amendment and read Senator Jacob Howard’s explanation.

“‘This will not of course include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens … but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship.’ … Is it not plain English? Is he not as clear as can be that it does not include aliens, it does not include foreigners. … The republican basis for citizenship is consent! Consent of the country! You can’t self-immigrate. You can’t claim jurisdiction because you happen to walk into the United States.”

“What is the bottom line here? Let’s number this: They wanted to make certain that former slaves would be treated as citizens of the United States, because certain states were still resistant. … They exempted Indians, because Indians still, certainly back then, were often considered citizens of particular tribes. But these actually were very forward-looking individuals. They specifically excluded aliens and foreigners.”
Once again, Democrats used to understand this!

Moreover, the Civil War Amendments, also known as the Reconstruction Amendments, were designed to ensure equality for recently emancipated slaves by banning the archaic institution of slavery, defining citizenship to include these newly cemented freemen, and ensuring their voting rights along with all Americans. It is a farce and an offense to pretend that the same specific amendment bestowing the privilege of citizenship upon a freed people brought here not of their own accord (and the generations springing from them) would also somehow apply to the children of those illegally entering our country of their own volition!

Pretty common sense stuff to understand, but for politicians who'd muddy the waters and sell our sovereignty down the river for damn-near slave labor and illegal votes.

Unlike Obama, Trump's not proposing to rewrite law via an executive order. On the contrary, he's proposing to ENFORCE ORIGINAL INTENT backed up by an executive order. Lot of difference there that the leftist media won't tell you, and that some Republicans, like the Speaker, don't seem to understand.

Perhaps Levin's further discussion with Daniel Horowitz will shed much needed light on how birthright citizenship is not lawful, as well as why Trump is right to end it...

Fed up with the media always blaming us? Mark is...

THIS NAILS IT once again...
Monday's Mark Levin Show: The media in our Country and their progressive groupthink are absolutely disgusting, pushing their agenda within hours. It’s sickening that the media is blaming the mass murder of American Jews by a sub-human killer on rhetoric instead of on the killers hateful actions. Shame on them! For eight years the U.S. was, in effect, at war as President Obama’s Administration treated Jews, the nation of Israel , and its Prime Minister with utter contempt. The Obama Administration armed Israel’s enemy with a millions in cash as part of the Iran Nuclear Deal. President Trump however, has been a friend to Israel. In fact, the sick synagogue shooter made statements that Trump was too friendly with the Jews and had too many around. Yet the media will have you believe that the 11 precious human beings that were killed because of Trump. There were 14 mass murders during Obama’s tenure did any mass media outlet blame his rhetoric for those killings? While Trump hasn’t prosecuted journalists like Obama did, he does push back on the media calling them out by name. They’re simply trying to bring down this Administration because they believe they are a power unto themselves. When was the last time Don Lemon, Jim Acosta, Rachel Maddow or Andrea Mitchell did a story on Anti Semites like Louis Farrakhan, whom they hold up as legitimate. Why don’t they get to the bottom of all that anti-semitism?

CR: LevinTV host Mark Levin opened up his radio show on Monday evening by discussing the media’s attacks on Trump in the wake of the tragic weekend shootings in Pittsburgh.

“I am so sick and tired of the media in this country — even more than the politicians. The groupthink, the progressive agenda … absolutely out of control. Absolutely disgusting,” Levin said.

“The media are politicizing this mass murder of American Jews by this subhuman cockroach in Pittsburgh. Shame on them! Shame on them! Just when you think the media have reached a low point, they go lower,” he added. He also commended the “brave men in blue — police officers — who ran into that synagogue.”

Levin explained that it is absurd to claim that Trump is stoking anti-Semitism, pointing to the pro-Jewish and pro-Israel records of the president and his cabinet. He also noted the previous administration’s extreme hostility to Israel and took the legacy media and leftist political operatives to task for their coziness with virulent anti-Semites such as Louis Farrakhan.

Fed up with the media always blaming us? Rush is...

THIS NAILS IT yet again...
RUSH: It’s so damn predictable. No matter what happens… We get up every day, events happen, and we listen to the media blame us. We listen to the media and we watch the media blame us or politicize everything, requiring us to speak up in defense and thereby acknowledge their silly premise that they put forth.

...whenever there is any kind of violence, any kind of uprising, any kind of chaos, the first instinct that the Drive-By Media has — and when I say Drive-By Media, it may as well be saying the Democrat Party.

The first instinct they have is to try to find a way to link whoever committed the bad deed to the Republican Party or the so-called conservative movement. And, of course, now it’s blame Trump. Everything — everything at all, whatever it is, blame Donald Trump. Blame me. Blame you. Blame anybody that supported Donald Trump. And, frankly, I’m worn out with this reaction. I have had it! I am fed up with it!

It’s been this way for years. There were shoot-ups during the Obama administration, there were mass murders, and at no time did the Drive-By Media ever try to link any of it to Obama. And yet people have forgotten. Was it inflammatory to say that Republicans were gonna be responsible for millions of deaths if Obamacare was not passed into law? Anybody remember that? I sure as hell do because I was fed up with it then! ...

Literally everything! That’s why none of this stuff ever gets fixed. It’s why none of this stuff is ever gonna get resolved until this politicization of everything stops. In other words, you have some guy who’s been mentally ill for 10, 15 years and then decides to take action. And all of a sudden, it’s the fault of a political party or it’s the fault of a president. It’s so predictable, ’cause they hate the president; they’ll do anything they can to get rid of him.

They spent two years trying to get rid of him. They failed to get rid of him. They’re fit to be tied over their failure. They’re ratcheting up this anger. We’re getting so far away from the notion that whoever did it is the person that did it. We’re getting to the point where in this country (because we politicize everything), nobody’s responsible for what they do. Whatever anybody does is because of the politics of the Republican Party or the conservative movement, as far as the Drive-By Media is concerned.

It’s not because somebody is mentally ill, disturbed. Who knows what’s been going on in their lives? The media doesn’t care about that except to the extent they can link it to Trump. Well, I, for one, am fed up with it. I am sick of this reaction to every freaking event. Even the weather! We can’t even get away from it with the weather. Extreme weather happens? It’s our fault! ...

Now, it gets to the point that if the media wonders why they’re in such ill disrepute right now, it’s because of this!

Nobody believes what you say! Nobody trusts what you’re saying. It’s so obviously politically charged. It’s so obvious that your passion about this is what you can do with it politically. The guy that shot up the synagogue in Pittsburgh, Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh… I know this place well. I lived there. Not Squirrel Hill, but I know where it is. The guy that shot this place up hated Donald Trump. Donald Trump was too big a Jewish supporter.

His daughter converted to Judaism before marrying Kushner. He moved the American embassy to Jerusalem. This guy thinks Trump is part of the sellout to worldwide Jewish people, and yet the media is blaming Trump. They’re saying (sputtering), “Well, Ivanka and all that? That’s just a disguise! You know, they just did that to cover up Trump’s real anti-Semitism.” Donald Trump’s maybe one of the best friends Israel and Israeli Jews have had in the Oval Office in I don’t know how long. ...

You’d be hard-pressed to find more virulent anti-Semites than in the Democrats’ base. Code Pink, Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, Antifa (the “anti-fascist” group). They are all virulent anti-Semites. Code Pink even went so far as to try to help Iran smuggle guns past the Israeli blockade into Gaza! They called it the Gaza flotilla. You can look it up. Now, what’s Code Pink’s motive? Code Pink simply hates America. Whatever America does, if it has an ally that aligns with Israel, Code Pink is gonna be oppose it.

So they end up being anti-Semitic, anti-Israel. Code Pink, Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, Antifa. That’s the Democrat voter base! It’s never talked about, never pointed out. So we get up every day and we look at things and people that we admire or like under unending attack and assault. Everything is being politicized for the express purpose of advancing the Democrat Party and left-wing agenda, and so we arise to defend.

And as we stand and rise to defend, they come at us and accuse us of aggressively being whatever it is they want to convince people that we’re being. So, see, we’re just supposed to shut up. When Obama’s IRS starts savagely mistreating conservative groups, we’re just supposed to sit there and take it. When Obama’s attorney general, Holder, decides he’s not gonna prosecute the New Black Panther Party for obstructing polling places in Philadelphia?

We’re just supposed to understand that this is to make amends for all of the racism and transgression of the past. Eric Holder says, “We kick ’em!” Obama says, “They bring a knife; we bring a gun!” Bernie Sanders supporters shooting up Republican baseball practice? Nobody goes after Bernie Sanders. In fact, the Democrats, the Drive-By Media tried to defend the shooter, claiming that his insanity was reasonable, given that Donald Trump was president!
RUSH: Did you love it when Trump said, “I have toned it down. If you want me to tone it back up, I will.” Donald Trump was elected to be different. Donald Trump was elected because people were fed up with politics-as-usual. I’m gonna tell you this: People fed up with politics see the Democrats and the media politicizing everything. It’s not going to send people running to the Democrat Party. Quite the opposite of what the media thinks.

See, the media and the Democrats obviously think that a majority of the American people want to see the country the way the Democrats do, through a lens of everything being political. And people don’t want to see it that way. The Democrats and the media are telling Trump to tone it down, but they tone nothing down themselves. What was it the mayor of Baltimore said to protesters? (summarized) “We need to give them space to destroy. We need to stand back and let them get it out of their system.”

They say nothing when Republicans are gunned down. They abuse power to hide Hillary’s crimes to fix elections, to run silent coups against a duly elected president. So the left wants Trump to tone down his efforts at self-defense! That’s what Trump is doing. He’s assaulted. He has said countless times, “If I’m hit, I’m gonna hit back.” When Trump is blamed for the actions of a lunatic, he’s told to be more dignified, remain silent, be like Mitt Romney would be. Be reserved and so forth.

Supposed to sit back, let Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, Antifa wreak havoc? ...

The left needs to tone down all of these political stunts that are, in many ways, designed to provoke a reaction from people because they utilize abuses of power and character assassination. The character being assassinated is just supposed to sit there, just supposed to take it. That’s how you get ahead in Washington. If you’re under the gun, you take it. You sit there and take it and realize it’s just politics. “Don’t take it personally, Judge Kavanaugh. Don’t take it personally.

...never supposed to fight for himself. Trump, ditto. He’s not supposed to stand up to this. But that’s who Trump is. They’re not used to it. They thought they would have sent Trump packing. A year and a half ago, they thought they’d be rid of Donald Trump, and they still aren’t.

Bombs away? Discussing Dem shenanigans...

BOOM, baby! Desperation doesn't even begin to describe what the Leftist fools are doing, but it's certainly a start. And I think this gentleman elegantly expresses the much needed discussion of the week to work out the plausible bomb hoax, the illegal invasion heading our way, and the biased media coverage...

I don't think his initial immigration solution is 'dumb' at all. We do NOT need to take them in, but we will need the cooperation of our neighbors to the south, which can understandably be frustrating.

Anyway, for the most part, well said, sir, well said.

The illegitimacy of both the invasion mob and the new Democratic stance

Speaking of mobs, and scheduled for midterm mayhem no less, it has been reported over the past few days that the migrant 'caravan' (better known as an invasion MOB) headed for the US has surged to 7000 and growing!
The caravan consisting primarily of Central American migrants seeking to reach the United States has swelled to an estimated 7,000.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has pledged to close down the U.S.-Mexican border and is requiring any who plan to seek asylum in the United States to apply in Mexico first.

Fox News reported Monday that the caravan — which numbered about 1,600 at the beginning of its trek from northen Honduras — had grown to anywhere between 5,000 to 10,000 people. An NBC report put the number at 7,000.

The Mexican government had agreed last week to stop the caravan at its southern border with Guatemala, but was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.
And I'm still shaking my head at how our media just scoff at the blatant PAYOFFS caught on camera, and either outright ignore them or just attempt to explain them away!

With early voting ensuing and the midterms just around the corner, it's difficult not to suspect this could be occurring at the behest of likely, but untraceable, Soros funds & Democratic socialist allies abroad and here at home (remember, VP Pence informed us that this invasion was organized by leftist groups in Honduras, financed by Venezuela, and sent north to challenge our sovereignty!). Following their failed Kavanaugh derailing, and preceded by the latest bomb charade (maybe more on that later), these folks will do anything to fundamentally transform America BACK to their dystopia.

Adding to that, as the media attempts to dispel concerns of terrorists infiltrating these groups, it's been reported that Bangladeshis have been sighted in the migrant mob...WHAT?!
A Spanish language reporter who has spent weeks embedded with the migrant caravan said in a Friday report that people from Bangladesh had joined the mass of people trying to cross from Guatemala into Mexico.

Univision correspondent Francisco Santa Anna reported from the bridge separating Guatemala and Mexico. The bridge has been packed with thousands of migrants demanding access to Mexico, with the ultimate goal of crossing the border of the United States illegally. The caravan has now swelled to many thousands.

The Bangladeshis, he said, were detained in an immigration facility, though it’s not clear what happened to them after their detention.

“Yesterday when we were traveling through Guatemala, we noticed people from El Salvador and even people from Bangladesh,” he continued. “Can you imagine what they had to do to get here? They infiltrated themselves in this caravan and tried to cross with the crowd. That would have benefited them greatly.”
Not to mention MS-13 gang members who already exist in the region, but there could be even worse...
Homeland Security officials said Tuesday that among the thousands of migrants heading for the United States border are some “gang members” and people with “significant criminal histories.”

Department spokesperson Tyler Houlton said on Twitter that the caravan, 7,000 migrants strong by some estimates, includes citizens not only of Central American countries, but also of the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and “elsewhere.”

“.@DHSgov can confirm that there are individuals within the caravan who are gang members or have significant criminal histories,” another tweet read. He did not offer more specifics.
The statement by the DHS reinforced an earlier tweet from President Trump, in which he maintained that the caravan included “criminals and unknown Middle Easterners.”
All of that, including the media campaign to smear Trump over this invasion, instead of a concern for the well being of American citizens, was covered on Tuesday's Mark Levin Show:
This isn’t a caravan of immigrants, it’s an invasion! The media and its appendage, the Democratic Party, are framing the narrative claiming that President Trump is driving a message of fear and lies about these foreigners marching from central America to America. In fact, some “reporters” went as far as keeping the story solely on Trump and their propaganda about “fear-mongering” clearly turning a blind eye to the impending invasion of thousands of people at our southern border. While the media blames Trump for scaring people, the real fear lies with MS-13 which is a genuine threat to urban communities across America.

CR: Tuesday on his nationally syndicated radio program, LevinTV host Mark Levin lit into the liberal media — particularly CNN — for calling President Trump’s immigration stance “fear-mongering.”

“Some of them are actually called reporters and anchors and hosts. Does this sound like news to you?” Levin said.

Levin also called out the senior White House correspondent for ABC News for twisting the migrant caravan story and insulting the large population of Americans who understand the seriousness of illegal immigration.

“This is also an attack on you, you see, because you’re so stupid that the president is able to cause you to be fearful and scared. You’re so stupid you can’t process what’s actually taking place. And besides, it’s only 0.06 percent of all undocumented people already in this country. The irony is that there’s so many illegal aliens in this country” that the caravan of thousands marching toward our southern border “is simply no big deal,” Levin said.

“It’s MS-13 that stokes fear, not the President of the United States.”
It's become virtually unnoticeable how much the mainstream media are the Democrats, and the Democrats are the media these days. Look no further than each's influence on the other in this singular issue. However, there was a time, not so long ago, that even Democrat, YES, Democratic leaders, thought illegal immigration was a dangerous phenomenon and would not have stood for this invading mob, as opposed to how both (or one in the same) seem to invite it now...

At 1995's SOTU address, Bill received a standing ovation from BOTH sides of the aisle for this delivery!
"We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it."

In 2005, then-Sen. Obama seemed to take an even tougher stance...
"We are a generous and welcoming people here in the United States, but those who enter the country illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law, and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law. We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country."
Think he meant "to become citizens of this country," but nonetheless, WOW...

Then as president, he even thought as late as 2013 while pushing comprehensive immigration reform that real reform meant stronger borders, putting more boots on the Southern border to reduce illegal crossings, as well as establishing a responsible pathway to earned citizenship...
"a path that includes passing a background check, paying taxes and a meaningful penalty, learning English, and going to the back of the line behind the folks trying to come here legally."

And beyond the last few Democratic presidents, how about the rational words of these Democratic leaders?!

Harry Reid in 1993:

Chuck Schumer in 2009:

Bernie Sanders in 2007:

Hillary Clinton in 2003:

...and in 2015 during her failed presidential bid:

...and many, many others can be found repeating similar sentiment. Then hypocrisy happened, and now both they and their media have flipped:

So were the rational stances they used to take only words, just words?

You'll no longer hear a reasonable Democratic utterance to this INVASION as that of the late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan:

In stark contrast, as Levin points out, "[today's] Democrats want to change the citizenry because that’s the way to change the electorate. If you oppose this destruction of our country, our system of commerce, or our system of healthcare you’ll be labeled a racist, xenophobe or misogynist. They will not debate the issues because their ideology is illegitimate and they know it!" And I'd add, if you oppose this destruction of our country, you'd better recognize the hypocrisy of this party, along with the arrogancy of its media, and instead STAND UP to VOTE against it over the next few weeks!

Of matches, the mob, and a much needed routing

“The Democrat Party deserves to lose in the single biggest electoral landslide defeat in my lifetime because of the actions they’ve taken just in the last month!” ~ RL
As Levin has repeated numerous times throughout the past weeks, months, and even years, there's nothing that can be done to appease the Left; we simply have to CRUSH THEM politically at the ballot box. And the freakish behavior exhibited throughout the Kavanaugh confirmation certainly proved that for those who hadn't fully come to this realization. The politicians behind this mob mentality must be ROUTED in the midterms!
RUSH: Let me ask you a question. Do you think that the Democrats in the Senate, the Democrats in the media, do you think all of these deranged, psychologically out of whack protesters are just gonna say, “Well, we gave it our best shot. We’ll wait ’til they nominate somebody else and try to destroy them”? Or do you think that they will continue in their effort to wipe Kavanaugh out and destroy him? Believe me, choose door No. 2. Especially if these clowns win the House, they are going to immediately mount two things: Impeachment of Trump and, therefore, impeachment of Kavanaugh!

Because if Trump shouldn’t have been there in the first place, then his nominee should not be, either. This is not going away. There’s only one way that it might. And it’s a huge long shot, and it is this. And by all rights, by all that is just, by all with a world in which God is present, the Democrats ought to have their rear ends handed to ’em in these upcoming elections, by all that’s just, by all that’s decent, they ought to be wiped out.

This ought to be the biggest midterm landslide defeat any party has ever experienced. This party deserves to be punished at the ballot box like no party ever has! And in a decent and just world, that’s exactly what happened, would happen. And if… Right now the Democrats are expecting this gigantic blue wave where they’re gonna win the House and Pelosi’s already talking about being speaker. They’re even dabbling about the possibility of winning the Senate.

And then they’re telling everybody what they’re gonna do. And I’m telling, you better, if they do win both of those seats, you better get as much active enjoyment out of our current economy and your current liberty and freedom as you can. Because they are going to start immediately erasing it by raising taxes, raising corporate taxes, committing this country to all kinds of worldwide climate change garbage that is going to redirect American resources.

They’re gonna reenact the Obama agenda, and they’re gonna put it on steroids, and that’ll mean wiping out all of these trade deals, all of these new jobs. The Democrats want government to be front and center in everybody’s life. They want every voter to think whatever they have came from government, came from Democrats. It didn’t come from you. It doesn’t come from your hard work. It doesn’t come from your self-reliance. It comes from them.

And you’re gonna learn it and love it and live it, by golly, by gosh, or else you’re gonna be punished. This party deserves to be so soundly defeated in November that we haven’t seen anything like it. If they lose. If they do not win the House, if they do not win the Senate, if they lose seats in both, then that might make some of the leaders of the party rethink their current strategy.

But if they win based on this, it’s gonna get even worse than it’s been, this politics of personal destruction is going to be amplified, and every Republican is gonna be targeted and every political media opponent is gonna be targeted. If they win with this kind of behavior and treatment of people and turning American principles upside down like “innocent ’til proven guilty,” if they win doing this, whew. New Zealand! Is the coast open?

We've got a couple of dichotomies running concurrently. On one hand, and one side of that hand I might add, there's the effectiveness of what President Trump and the majority of Republicans just accomplished (Exhibit A: I’m An Immigrant, Minority Woman Going Republican Over Democrats’ Treatment Of Kavanaugh); while on the other side of that hand rides the remaining complacency of what one would hope is the few (Exhibit B: Complacent conservatives should learn the Murkowski lesson). Then, not even on the upper extremities, but let's say the left foot, is more of what a lost American political party -- formerly known as Democrats, who now refer to themselves more as progressives and have rapidly devolved into socialists these days fomenting violence -- has to offer. And YES, this kind of language absolutely incites mob rule, and they knowingly invite it:

Aren't these the very same people who preached CIVILITY when they were in power just a short few years ago?! And now they've utterly lost it. So...think it'd be beneficial for the country and the vast majority of its citizenry to go with the Prez on this one in November:
