The first Thanksgiving Proclamation

Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

October 3, 1789

Introduction

Following a resolution of Congress, President George Washington proclaimed Thursday the 26th of November 1789 a day of “public thanksgiving and prayer” devoted to “the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.” Reflecting American religious practice, Presidents and Congresses from the beginning of the republic have from time to time designated days of fasting and thanksgiving (the Thanksgiving holiday we continue to celebrate in November was established by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War and made into law by Congress in 1941).

In setting aside a day for Thanksgiving, Washington established a non-sectarian tone for these devotions and stressed political, moral, and intellectual blessings that make self-government possible, in addition to personal and national repentance. Although the First Amendment prevents Congress from establishing a religion or prohibiting its free exercise, Presidents, as well as Congress, have always recognized the American regard for sacred practices and beliefs. Thus, throughout American history, Presidents have offered non-sectarian prayers for the victory of the military and in the wake of catastrophes. Transcending passionate quarrels over the proper role of religion in politics, the Thanksgiving Proclamation reminds us how natural their relationship has been. While church and state are separate, religion and politics, in their American refinement, prop each other up.

Thanksgiving Proclamation

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Go. Washington

Another Obamacare delay: small business enrollment after 2014 midterms

Just in time for a news dump before the holidays. Yet another talking point for the Thanksgiving table, no doubt...

FoxNews: In another delay for the health care law and another sign of problems with its central website, the Obama administration announced a day before the Thanksgiving holiday that it would push off online enrollment for small businesses by another year.

The Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday that it will delay the launch of the online SHOP Marketplace -- which is meant for small businesses -- until November 2014. Officials did not give a hard deadline, though the start could easily slip past the 2014 midterms, sparing the administration any headaches right before the election.

Critics, though, said the move would create more "onerous" paperwork for job creators during the next year.
Yeah, we wouldn't want the Democratic statists who passed this monstrosity into law with a super-partisan super-majority to fret about their reelection chances.

Thanks, Ted

Here's a great Thanksgiving message for the season to one of the few statesmen on Capitol Hill...

This Thanksgiving Day powerful TV ads will air across the state of Texas “thanking” Senator Ted Cruz for leading the fight against Barack Obama’s failed ObamaCare healthcare scheme. The ads will run during the highly-rated NFL Thanksgiving Day football games and during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on one-dozen (12) TV stations across Texas.
God Bless America, God Bless Texas, and God Bless Ted Cruz!

GALLUP: Americans positive about 'actual' personal health care coverage despite negative 'perception' of overall national average

In every poll, it's clear that what individuals thought about their own personal coverage vs. the years of propaganda being fed to them about the system as a whole by both the media and the regime were actually worlds apart...

Rush was flabbergasted by the report this morning...

"I have a story here by Gallup by their head honcho, a guy named Frank Newport. “Americans’ Views of Healthcare Quality, Cost, and Coverage.” This story from Gallup is amazing. This story almost warrants being read from front to back. Every finding in this Gallup story goes against what we have had drummed into us by Obama and the media for the last six years, everything. Every result in this Gallup on story, which is a reporting of several polls, every result supports what we have been saying for years.

Most people are and have been very happy with the current health care system. Most people are very happy with their insurance. Do you realize the bill of goods that everybody’s been sold? Everybody has been sold a bill of goods that the health care some is broken. And while a lot of people were made to believe that it is, it wasn’t for them. It’s kind of like the analogy that — actually it isn’t an analogy, it’s actually truthful. The Democrats and the media when reporting a bad economy, when it’s actually not bad, the way they make it work, they continually report bad economic news. This is how they did it during the Bush years. They reported the economy was rotten in certain sectors, employment was going down, unemployment was rising, cost of living going up.

Now most people were not experiencing that. But they heard it reported, so they figured it was happening to somebody. So they agreed when pollsters asked them if they thought the economy was in trouble. It wasn't. Well it's the same thing that happened here with insurance. This Gallup story is profound!"
This is what they've done to us, folks. A complete separation between reality and fantasy...and they prefer to keep us in the fantasy of crisis exemplified by that light green line above.

Obama: 'If I could solve problem without passing laws in Congress, I would'

It's always a spectacle when a president is heckled. It's something more, though, when an amnesty-sympathizer shouts down this particular President and receives a response that is even more troubling...
"If in fact I could solve all these problems without passing laws in Congress, then I would do so."

Yes, he followed that up with a 'but,' explaining that our nation's 'tradition' is that of law. True...but a man begging a President to stop the deportation of all 11.5 million 'undocumented immigrants' (i.e., illegal aliens) with an executive order has obviously gotten the idea that a POTUS has that ability, so...where did he get that idea from?

Perhaps it's all of Obama's other rule-by-executive-fiat and congressional bypasses that his administration has acted on! Perhaps it's this President's imperial pronouncement time and time again that 'if Congress won't act, I will.' Perhaps it's also this President's constant discrediting of the very tradition and rule of law that he pretends to care about, while committing legal plunder (as I'm confident Bastiat would have labeled it).

And upon all of those reasons, Breitbart helps us out with another timely reminder...something that he now concedes he can't legally do...
Last year, Obama, by executive fiat, enacted a temporary deferred action program that allowed "certain illegal immigrants who came to the country before their 16th birthday, are under 30 years of age, and who also meet various requirements to receive temporary work permits."

As Breitbart News has reported, immigration activists want Obama to extend the deferred action program to all illegal immigrants if a comprehensive immigration reform bill cannot be passed. Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) has been an outspoken advocate of such an action. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who was a champion of the Senate's immigration bill that provided a pathway to citizenship to all of the country's illegal immigrants, said that immigration reform needed to be passed or Obama would give temporary amnesty to all of the nation's immigrants, which is something Obama has conceded he cannot do legally.
Though Obama concedes he doesn't have such legal executive authority, that obstacle (along with the congressional one) hasn't done much to stop him from trying, and in many cases succeeding, thus far. Perhaps it's the last part of the clip that explains the hesitation to go full-bore, open-and-upfront authoritarian.

Obama says he's proposing the harder path of "using our democratic processes to achieve the same goal that you want to achieve, but it won't be as easy as just shouting, it requires us lobbying and getting it done."

So you see, the community organizer/lawyer gives this particular bastion of San Fran libs a lesson in subversion: don't commit a Fabian faux pas for the cameras...we'll use the democratic processes to peacefully pillage behind closed doors. And that's who this man is and who we're dealing with for the remainder of his term. Equally troubling are the clapping seals surrounding him, soaking up this Marxist claptrap.

Cruz: Obama admin gave Iran a win, sold out Israel

Much has been said of the raw deal cut this weekend between the Obama administration and Iran. Too much to reiterate. So to quickly cover this development, I thought my Senator's statement reflects that of a host of conservative thought on the matter, via his Foreign Policy op-ed...
According to the interim agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program that was reached this weekend in Geneva, not one centrifuge will be destroyed. Not one pound of enriched uranium will leave Iran. Not one American unjustly detained in Iran's notorious prisons will be released. But Iran will start to receive, in a matter of days, $7 billion in relief from international economics sanctions.
Cruz says this appears to be "an unfortunate case of history repeating itself," referencing North Korea's treachery, inevitably culminating in that country's first successful nuke testing in 2006. Likewise, Cruz says, "the mullahs in Tehran can now laugh all the way to the bank while they spend the time and money they have gained in Geneva pursuing nuclear capability."
All the smiling embraces between diplomats in Geneva after the interim deal was signed notwithstanding, the Iranian regime remains a brutal and oppressive dictatorship that pursues nuclear weapons for the purpose of dominating the Middle East and threatening America and its allies, notably Israel. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry should reconsider their policy of rapprochement with Iran that is dismaying to Jerusalem and encouraging to Tehran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu predicted this agreement would be a "very, very bad deal" and has now correctly identified it as an "historic mistake." Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani tweeted his satisfaction, saying that "breaking down the architecture for sanctions has begun."

The administration has gotten it backwards and it is time to reverse course before any further damage is done.
It's as if the Obama regime wants the Middle East more destabilized than what they're certain to leave it, helping to shift more influence away from the Saudis to the Iranians, putting our Israeli allies in a more precarious position (possibly forcing their hand), and further delegitimizing America's foreign policy in an attempt to legitimize Iran's new Muslim cleric leader.

The scheme behind the lies of Obamacare

Andy McCarthy reminds us to step back and look at the big picture when it comes to Obamacare. There's been an immense amount of coverage about all of the Democratic lies, especially those woven by the President's. But those lies have simply been utilized to smooth the transition to a fundamental transformation of our health-care system.
NRO: Fraud can be so brazen it takes people’s breath away. But for a prosecutor tasked with proving a swindle — or what federal law describes as a “scheme to defraud” — the crucial thing is not so much the fraud. It is the scheme.
And the scheme behind Obamacare was clearly laid out in that all-too-familiar speech given at a 2003 AFL-CIO conference, which captures then-Illinois state senator Barack Obama supporting and promoting a single-payer health care system in America...
"I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal health-care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. . . . Everybody in, nobody out. A single-payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. That’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately..."

It is a Fabian plan to move an unwilling nation, rooted in free enterprise, into Washington-controlled, fully socialized medicine. As its tentacles spread over time, the scheme (a) pushes all Americans into government markets (a metastasizing blend of Medicare, Medicaid, and “exchanges” run by state and federal agencies); (b) dictates the content of the “private” insurance product; (c) sets the price; (d) micromanages the patient access, business practices, and fees of doctors; and (e) rations medical care. Concurrently, the scheme purposely sows a financing crisis into the system, designed to explode after Leviathan has so enveloped health care, and so decimated the private medical sector, that a British- or Canadian-style “free” system — formerly unthinkable for the United States — becomes the inexorable solution.

Once you grasp that this is the scheme, the imperative to lull the public with lies makes sense. Like all swindles, Obamacare cannot work if its targeted victims figure out the endgame before it is a fait accompli.
And it's recognition of this scheme that led Rush to discuss Obamacare in terms of a computer virus today, and rightly so...

Mitch McConnell's aim is all off

...and although it's not the sole reason that this man needs to be defeated and replaced with a true conservative, it certainly goes a long way in making the case for such...

So what do I mean by aim? Well, Levin did an exceptional job in discussing that on Friday's program...
On Friday's Mark Levin Show: Mark talks about the political game going on where they have now pushed back the cost of the Obamacare premiums till after the midterm elections. They are purposely hiding information, blaming it on the insurance companies, all because they don't want the public to realize just how bad the Obamacare roll out and prices will be. Mark talks about how Senator Mitch McConnell refuses to do anything about Thursday's filibuster rule change and also the upcoming court battles. The Obama Administration is trying to expand the courts with their own liberal people, to further push their bureaucratic agenda. Also, McConnell is going after the Tea Party even though they are the ones that put the Republican's in power to begin with.
See what I mean about aim? The man points both barrels at the base of his own party, while ignoring the truly rotten vermin waltzing by to gnaw away at the very fiber of America.

McConnell leads among many who cannot find the will or principle to defend the American people against the tyranny from within. Instead, these supposed leaders of the Republican Party -- from a by-gone McConnell, Cornyn and McCain to Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy, but also inclusive of the Rove-Norquist punditry, the dynastic Bushies, the Christie hopefuls, and the Ryan-Rubio misguided youth -- promulgate a party of surrender in some twisted logic of future political gain, when all they're enforcing is permanent minority status. But as long as they remain part of the Ruling Class, albeit the subservient, well that seems to suit them just fine. And such an attitude begins to explain why they lash out at conservatives, constitutionalists, the tea party, really any individual or group that demands principled decisions from their elected officials, especially those who claim to defend the Constitution and support limited government while their repetitive actions remain adversely unprincipled.

"This is what Mitch McConnell has become: a lightweight in the Senate, and an iron fist against anybody who disagrees with him in the Republican Party or the conservative movement."

RUSH: 'Whatever good news there is about Obamacare is over'

"Well, [Reid's nuclear option] is one way to get the attention off Obamacare." ~ Mika Brzezinski
Even an MSLSD'er feels so inclined to openly admit it. And I suppose that's one way to put it. But, you know, we are capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time. So let's take a look at how Rush approached the topic on Friday...
"Whatever good news there is about Obamacare is over. Anything about Obamacare from this day forward is bad news. Now, they do say that their website passed some screwball test today. You know, big whoop. It’s another thing out of Jay Carney’s mouth. The reason that they’re delaying the enrollment mandate deadline beyond the election next year is because the rates skyrocket next year. The rates skyrocket next year because they are based on the lies that the young and healthy were gonna flock to Obamacare, and they’re not. The rates that everybody thought you and me and everybody was gonna be charged were projections based on what these loco weeds thought would be a mad dash by Millennials to Obamacare to sign up.

Look, folks, these people that are running this don’t know jack. I’m telling you, they are theoreticians, faculty lounge theoreticians who have zero experience in the private sector in the real world. There’s not one person involved in this who’s ever made a payroll, ever run a business. They don’t have the slightest idea how the real world works. And remember, they don’t understand the fragility of small business. They think all business is filthy rich. It’s the fatted golden goose, and it never is gonna run out of money. They think that every business owner is filthy rich, hoarding money, cheating customers, not paying employees so they can have all the money for themselves. That’s what they truly believe."

"The thinking is that people are so dumb and so stupid that they will not learn what I just told you and that they will show up in 2014 and vote Democrat to win the House and keep the Senate because they love Obamacare. They now think they get to keep their doctor ’cause Obama apologized. They get to keep their doctor for just a year. They get to keep their plan, but the price for that goes up, too. They think that by hiding the truth, you are so stupid that you are not going to learn the truth.

But there are people like me and countless others who are going to tell you the truth. You’re not gonna have enroll to find out what you face price-wise when you do enroll. This is how little they think of you and how dumb they think you are. If they just delay by a month or two, just delay the mandatory enrollment, you’ve got to be signed up, you’ve got to pay your money to Obamacare, you’ve got to have insurance, until after the election, that you’ll vote Democrat, happily, supportively, and then, after the election, when you figure out what’s happened, you’ll have no power to do anything about it other than get mad, and they don’t care if you get mad after the election. They don’t care if you realize you have just been shafted after the election.

They don’t want you to think or realize you’re getting shafted before you vote. You are getting the shaft. We all are. We are getting the royal shaft. Obama just thinks you’re stupid enough to not realize it before November of 2014. Jay Carney thinks you’re stupid enough and he can convince the media to tell you that you’re stupid enough that you won’t know you’re getting the shaft before November of 2014. Come December 2014 when you get the shaft and realize it, they’ll say, “Gee, we’re sorry you feel that way. This wasn’t our intention.” Well then lower my..."Oh no, no, we, we didn't intend for you to get mad. We're sorry you got mad, but you're stuck with it." Folks, they have been governing against the will of the American people since day one. They're not changing."
Rush says if you put what this has become up to a vote, it doesn't stand a chance but with maybe 10% of voters, because it's all fraud, corruption and deceit. The Democrat Party just thinks you're too dumb to realize it before you vote them back in, again. "That's what they really think of you."

Now the unfortunate thing about Reid pulling the nuclear option in the Senate on Thursday, while in the throes of Obamacare's daily destructive path, is that McConnell and establishment cowards really think the GOP incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time when it comes to simultaneously combating the innumerable grievous attacks foisted against America and its citizenry by an ever-increasing iron-fisted and authoritarian Democratic-Statist reign. And that just makes the times we live in even dimmer witnessing the major opposition party not opposing much of anything with any real vigilance, whether that be Obamacare or the Senate's nuclear option or whatever. THESE ARE the times that try men's souls.

Levin to 'buffoons and cowards' of the 'phony' Republican Senate leadership: 'Here's what you should've said' (RUSH ADDENDUM)

"Reid jumped the Republicans, McConnell wasn't ready. Absolutely useless, this man. Useless!"

Levin had an ear-full in store for McConnell and the 'phony' Republican Senate leadership tonight. Besides looking like 'a bunch of buffoons and cowards,' Mark questions if they even realize that they actually have power, but keep surrendering it upfront!

To assist these feckless wonders, Levin helps nudge them along with what they should've said to Reid today:
"You go ahead and do this today, Harry Reid and Schumer. You go ahead and do this, Dick Durbin and Harkin and all the rest of you miscreants and malcontents. You go ahead and do this. Let me tell you what we're gonna do when we take back the Senate, if we take back the Senate. We're gonna eliminate the filibuster rule altogether. And by a simple majority, we're going to repeal Obamacare. That's what we're gonna do. There's no point in we, the Republican Party; there's no point in we, the Republicans in the Senate, following tradition, following Robert's Rule of Order. There's no point in us doing it when we're up against a force that doesn't abide by tradition, doesn't abide by rules, doesn't abide by the Constitution. Quite the contrary, seeks to destroy them all in their pursuit of absolute power. So we just want to make it clear today what we're going to do is lift the filibuster rule, and we're going to repeal Obamacare. And because there is no filibuster rule in the House, they will vote with us. And then it will go to the President, and he will veto it, and then it will come back to Congress. And we will either muster the votes to override his veto, or we won't. But after that point, we're going to target every single Democrat, and we're going to defeat as many as we can to get to our veto-proof Senate and House. We're going to scare the hell out of the Democrats who remain by exposing this whole fraud that is the Democrat Party that has become the federal government."

(H/t: MP)

Yet, losers like Jeff Flake (R-AZ) 'hope that if we retake the Senate, we won't do the same thing.' Mark says, and I'd resoundingly agree, either 'these are people perfectly comfortable with tyranny,' or 'they're so ignorant of what's going on in front of their faces that they just don't react properly, normally, to these circumstances.' Personally, I think the time has long passed to let them off the hook with the ignorant excuse, particularly with such bold & brazen tyranny grinding America down.

AWESOME: Mark Levin teaches Republican Senators how to respond to Harry Reid and his nuclear option

ADDENDUM: On Friday, Rush added to the discussion, explaining how even though "we have a party that’s unwilling to fight back...a party that seems more interested in wiping out its own base than taking out their real enemy," it may not be now, but at some point in time, justice will catch up and the Democrats will pay for this.

And one way Republicans could help move that along, Rush suggests, is to stigmatize every single one of those judges who wins confirmation with less than 60 votes!

And that's just one idea among a range of things that the GOP could do to nuke Obama and the Democrats back. Yet, these are likely more suggestions that McConnell and the establishment won't have the guts or will, persistence or principle, to pursue...but should.

Harry Reid 'remakes' the Senate by going nuclear on filibuster (FLASHBACKS included!)

Thursday morning, November 21st, 2013 at around the 11am hour, Senate majority leader Harry Reid led Democrats in changing over 200 years of Senate precedence by weakening the filibuster rules with a simple majority vote for Obama's judicial nominees in an effort to stack the federal courts with a left-wing judiciary, because as WeaselZippers so adequately put it, "why should Dems have to play by the same rules as Republicans?" FDR snickers...

His effort is of course more sinister than simply changing a rule...while Obama seeks to remakes the courts, Reid follows through with remaking the Senate...
Heritage: This afternoon, the Senate approved a rules change that will effectively eliminate the filibuster for executive branch and judicial nominations. Under the old rules, Senators could debate whether to confirm a nomination until 60 members voted to invoke cloture and end the debate. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) succeeded today in lowering that threshold to a simple majority of 51 votes when the Senate voted 52-48 to make the change.

This new rule will enable Reid to force through three nominations to the D.C. Circuit Court that Republicans have opposed based on the fact that the D.C. Circuit is underworked and doesn’t need any more judges.

Though the rule purportedly applies only to executive branch and judicial nominations—excluding Supreme Court nominations (for now, anyway)—it would seem with 51 votes, Reid can do just about anything. This change will certainly have a negative effect on whatever comity is left in the Senate, which used to be referred to as “the world’s greatest deliberative body.”

With 55 Senators in the Democratic caucus, Reid will no longer need to work with Republicans in order to confirm judges or executive branch nominees.
Rush quickly commented in his opening monologue:
"They just voted the nuclear option in the Senate. They just changed 250 years’ worth of rules on advise and consent, and now Obama’s gonna get every judge he wants. He’s gonna get them. If they want to add seats to a court — if they want to add five new liberal seats to the DC circuit, for example — they can do it. There’s no stopping ‘em because the Republicans don’t have the votes."

But besides another blatant power grab, the hypocrisy of Reid, Obama and Biden is beyond the pale...

FLASHBACK: Sen. Harry Reid

In 2008, Reid swore that as long as he was leader, he would never turn to the nuclear option, saying it would be a “black chapter in the history of the Senate.” It appears we hit that today. Further back in 2005, pre-Dear Leader, Reid also declared such a change would be "un-American" and even "illegal"...

FLASHBACK: Sen. Joe Biden

In 2005, then-Senator Joe Biden declared that the GOP’s talk of a nuclear option was "a fundamental power grab." Funny how things change when the shoe is on the other foot, huh Joe?

FLASHBACK: Sen. Barack Obama

Finally, according to then-Senator Obama, the Nuclear Option 'poisons Washington' and it "certainly isn't what the patriots who founded this democracy had in mind." Although, this guy has been known to fib a time or two or ten!

“The Founding Fathers established the filibuster as a means of protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority -- and that protection, with some changes, has been in place for over 200 years.” ~ Sen. Obama, 2005

"Over the past five years, we’ve seen an unprecedented pattern of obstruction in Congress... it just isn’t normal. It’s not what our founders envisioned. ... So I support the step a majority of senators today took to change the way that Washington is doing business, more specifically, the way the Senate does business." ~ Pres. Obama, 2013

ADDENDUM: Out of all the media outlets, MSLSD reviewed the hypocrisy of the three pendejos that I've chronicled in the above flashbacks, with Mika Brzezinski leading out with a Looney Tune-esque tag line, "Well, that's, uhh, that's one way to get the attention off Obamacare." Precisely, Mika.

Project Veritas exposes Obamacare Navigators, Enroll America and Battleground Texas

"[Project Veritas’] undercover video shows the kind of rampant fraud that is possible because of the Obama administration’s failure to enact rules that properly govern and manage [Obamacare]." ~ TX AG Greg Abbott
James O'Keefe's ProjectVeritas continues to superbly expose and fight Democratic statist corruption within the inner workings of Obamacare in ways that the GOP leadership doesn't seem to have the stomach for (many times they're too busy enabling it!). And it would appear that there's a TEXAS-sized portion of that going on right in our back yard. Lone Star conservatives, pay close attention...here's the chonology thus far:
11/13/13 - As reported by MyFox4 in Dallas, the Urban League of Greater Dallas fired one person and suspended three others after Project Veritas broke an under cover investigation showing Obamacare navigators counseling applicants to “lie” about their income status, defrauding the federal government, American taxpayers, and families who truly need quality health care.

11/14/13 - Project Veritas released a second investigation exposing more Obamacare navigators counseling applicants to lie and cheat the health care system by erroneously reporting income status, health history, and more.

“Critics said the first video was an isolated incident so we decided to visit with even more navigators funded by American tax dollars,” said James O’Keefe, President of Project Veritas. “What we found was disturbing and showed a clear pattern of fraud inside the Obamacare navigator program.”

“But then the investigation took a turn we couldn’t foresee. Not only were our investigators encouraged to defraud the health care system of earned income, we learned that many additional agencies will have access to private health care records after submitting applications.”

James O'Keefe on What's Yet to Come....
“The great thing about what James does is that he just runs a camera and lets people explain what they’re doing. The navigators are all about using taxpayer money to fund partisan operatives, and that’s fundamentally corrupt. It’s wrong. It’s misusing the machinery of government, and what James has done is simply put on film that these folks understand their partisan operatives. They’re not engaged in anything other than trying to mobilize people, to keep Democrats in power to maintain their control over our lives.” ~ Sen. Ted Cruz
Here's where it gets even more sinister and subversive in the way of attempting to fundamentally transforming Texas...
11/20/13 - Do you know where your personal data is going?

After meeting with several Obamacare Navigators who openly encouraged our undercover reporters to lie about income status, health history and more, it became clear that personal data was also being “cross-pollinated.”

Enter Enroll America, a Sebelius-linked group dedicated to signing people up for Obamacare and Chris Tarango, Texas Enroll America Communications Director who Project Veritas caught on tape agreeing to help obtain a private list of potential Obamacare enrollee data for election/political purposes. Tarango goes so far to say he’ll “Do whatever it f****** takes.”

LEVIN: GOP has no plan to eliminate ObamaCare

In the face of Obamacare's impending failure and the disastrous consequences foisted on Americans, not to mention the imploding popularity of Obama himself along with his signature legislation (the latter of which has never been), Levin poses a great question aimed squarely at the Republican Party, specifically its establishment leadership: "So what's the plan?" And Levin makes it easy for listeners by answering that question: "They have no plan," short of simply electing more Republicans...more establishment Republicans, that is. The GOP leadership has embraced the governmental seizure of power inherent within the framework of such a leviathan, and they're already surrendering over the upcoming budget battle, when they should be fervently fighting both if they're the 'conservatives' they claim to be.
On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show: People are feeling the pain of the country and society and it's only going to be getting worse. Obamacare is a perfect example of an Administration and an ideology that has gone too far. Obamacare isn't going to stop expanding even as it implodes, and we now know that Senator McConnell and Congressman Ryan aren't going to use any defunding measures against it. Now would be the time to repeal Obamacare and go after the purse strings and the funding aspect of it, and the Republican's are already giving up on that opportunity.

Here's a portion of that RedState piece that Mark references:
Consequently, even with Obama’s approval rating sinking into the 30s, and Obamacare as toxic as ever, Democrats have no reason to fear the budget deadlines next year. The only points of contention are locking in the sequester cuts that were already locked in and extending super-long-term unemployment benefits for yet another year. When it comes to fighting Obamacare, it’s all hat and no cattle.

At the very minimum, conservatives need to push for two concessions:
  • Even if they already surrendered the budget battle, they must secure an agreement from Democrats to pass all of next year’s 12 appropriations bills in regular order and go to conference on each bill individually. This will lay the groundwork for fighting Obamacare in one or two bills without having the rest of the government as collateral damage in a shutdown. That would give us the opportunity, at the very latest, to fight Obamacare right before the mid-term elections without the specter of a full government shutdown.
  • Republicans always said they wouldn’t mind fighting just the debt ceiling because there is no direct government shutdown. Well, now is the time to start debunking the myth of default and committing to ending this practice of suspending the debt ceiling law. The debt ceiling fight will coincide with the period of time when American workers begin to receive their first paychecks for 2014. Most people will incur a large bite out of their pay due to the increased withholdings for higher premiums. This will augment the public disquiet that is already brewing from the destruction of private insurance.
Any Republican who blithely ignores Obamacare when it really counts and when we really have leverage does not deserve your vote. Obamacare will not collapse on its own. We must force the fight once and for all – without the full-scale sabotage campaign from the GOP establishment.
That last paragraph, which I've bolded with emphasis, says it all, folks!

A SINKING SHIP: Obama at 37% approval, Obamacare at 31%

Even with a lapdog media in tow, panic-stricken progressives can't stop Obama's new lows...
CBSNews: President Obama's job approval rating has plunged to the lowest of his presidency, according to a new CBS News poll released Wednesday, and Americans' approval of the Affordable Care Act has dropped it's lowest since CBS News started polling on the law.

Thirty-seven percent now approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, down from 46 percent in October -- a nine point drop in just a month. Mr. Obama's disapproval rating is 57 percent -- the highest level for this president in CBS News Polls.

A rocky beginning to the opening of the new health insurance exchanges has also taken its toll on how Americans perceive the Affordable Care Act. Now, approval of the law has dropped to 31 percent - the lowest number yet recorded in CBS News Polls, and a drop of 12 points since last month. Sixty-one percent disapprove (a high for this poll), including 46 percent who say they disapprove strongly.

Add the coming tsunami of health care losses, along with record high unemployment, and reason should dictate that Obamacare, along with the man himself and pretty much the remainder of his policies for that matter, needs to be repealed!

Poll: Opposition to Obama, health law spike

ADDENDUM: John Hinderaker says that Obama's free-fall signifies that 'things are only going to get worse'...
PowerLine: The big news story this morning is the CBS poll that has President Obama with a dismal 37% approval rating. Support for Obamacare has plummeted to 31%, with 61% disapproving of the law.

The Democrats are in a panic, but there isn’t much they can do other than try to entice Republicans into joining with them to “fix” the law, thereby making the disaster bipartisan. Things are only going to get worse, as tens of millions lose their existing health insurance and a large majority of Americans, in both the employer-sponsored market and the individual/small group market, find that the cost of health insurance is rising.

Last night a businessman just returned from China told me that demand is down in Chinese factories because American retailers are cutting back on orders. The reason: middle-class Americans have figured out that their health care bills are going up under Obamacare, and they are cutting back on other spending. The time is not far off when Barack Obama yearns for the days when he had a 37% approval rating.
...basically, he's taking the country with him.

ADDENDUM II: Rush had more than enough to say about these approval/disapproval numbers...
"This is all on Obama. People aren’t feeling this way because they’ve been told. Here’s the thing, folks. This is why this matters. You and I know that George W. Bush approval number, 36, 37% took the media four years to get it there. The George W. Bush approval number was the result of four years of relentless, unstoppable media pounding. The media drove that approval number of George Bush down to 36%. The media did not drive this down. Obama’s 37% approval is all on Obama.

The media has been trying to protect Obama. The media has been trying to shield Obama. Several in the Republican establishment in the so-called conservative media have even been trying to shield Obama. And while all of that has gone on, the approval number, 37%, is real, and it happened within a year. And this is a major, fundamental difference. This is real."

Then referencing a piece from TheHill, Rush says believe it or not, the Democrats are 'terrified' that people are no longer buying it, that frustration is growing, and that these are the results of at least one truth coming out...

Honoring Lincoln's Gettysburg Address

Although Obama may have forgotten, we "can never forget."

Today, we honor the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that “all men are created equal.”

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle field of that war. We come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place for those who died here, that the nation might live. This we may, in all propriety do.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate – we can not consecrate – we can not hallow, this ground – The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have hallowed it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here; while it can never forget what they did here.

It is rather for us, the living, we here be dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve these dead shall not have died in vain; that the nation, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

History: In November 1863, President Abraham Lincoln was invited to deliver remarks, which later became known as the Gettysburg Address, at the official dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania, on the site of one of the bloodiest and most decisive battles of the Civil War. Though he was not the featured orator that day, Lincoln's 273-word address would be remembered as one of the most important speeches in American history. In it, he invoked the principles of human equality contained in the Declaration of Independence and connected the sacrifices of the Civil War with the desire for "a new birth of freedom," as well as the all-important preservation of the Union created in 1776 and its ideal of self-government.

Obama snubs 150th anniversary of Gettysburg Address (UPDATE)

So, where's The Oprah on this one?
BizPacReview: President Obama is skipping out on the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg address not to help hurricane victims in the Philippines, tornado victims in Illinois or even to do what he promised — “to keep on working as hard as [he] can” to fix the Affordable Care Act.

Nope, in fact, he doesn’t even have a reason. On Tuesday, when the nation will mark such a momentous day in history, the president is scheduled to meet privately with Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and then later with editors at the Wall Street Journal, but that’s it.

The White House website schedule indicates that the president has “no public schedule.”
So much for all those Lincoln comparisons.

I know Lincoln wasn't black, but didn't he have something to do with emancipating the slaves and beginning to break down the racial barriers in America all the way back in 1863? Ehh...not glamorous enough for this prez.

One generation of enslaved was emancipated...over a century-and-a-half later, another disconnected, now of all color and creeds, are enslaved under statism. It's time to emancipate America!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Lincoln's not the only one snubbed...
AmericanThinker: President Obama failed to include the words "under God" while reading from the Gettysburg Address for a PBS documentary. As first reported by Chris Plante on WMAL, the president recited the Gettysburg Address, delivered by President Abraham Lincoln on November 19, 1863. The video clip is part of a PBS documentary created by filmmaker Ken Burns that includes speeches by other celebrities.

How did Obama the "Constitutional scholar" pick the "first draft" versus the "official version" of the Gettysburg Address? This cannot be just a "mistake."

Obama has censored God from his remarks before. During an October 18, 2010 speech at a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) he glaringly left out the mention of a "Creator" as the source of man's "unalienable rights," when quoting the Declaration of Independence. The president failed to say "by their Creator" when referencing the inalienable rights we are all endowed with.

What would prompt a sitting president of the United States, one who claims that he's a practicing Christian and believes in God, to deliberately avoid mentioning God, his Creator, in so many of his public speeches and remarks? Is he ashamed of God or does he no longer believe in Him?
Listen to the montage of Leftists and RINOs assembled to recite the address as Lincoln had written it, including the phrase, "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom." Everyone recites it...except Obama. (via WMAL)

Rush, Levin expose 'The Oprah'

"What she really means is unless you agree with an overly powerful centralized, leviathan government, that is ubiquitous, where a handful of masterminds are reorganizing society, trying to reshape man in their own image, unless you agree with what is fundamentally totalitarian in its mindset, then, 'you're racist!'"
Hope you ladies are awake for this one!

I had planned on skipping over the Oprah controversy of last week, but there's been enough commentary concerning her latest 'racist-America' rant while overseas hocking her new film, that I thought perhaps it's time to assist in spreading the exposure of this 'biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people,' as Glenn Beck adequately deems her.

First, the race-baiting clap-trap that I'm sure all have heard by now:

Oprah: Racists Have to Die for Racism to End

Talk about living in the past! This woman doesn't even realize that as much as she wants some to just die, she's among those who are contributing in keeping racial tensions heightened when there's no need for them to be in a modernized, colorless 21st century America.

Now, onto a couple of the heavy-hitters who have picked up on these ignorant allegations and intellectually thrown them back at The Oprah.

If there's indeed such a level of disrespect as she charges in America, Rush asked the poignant question on Friday, "Then how the hell did you become who you are?"
"These people are not nearly as smart as they think they are, and they don’t know nearly what they think they know. They are embarrassingly ignorant. It wasn’t a senator. It was a congressman. And it’s not because he was black. It’s because he was lying, Oprah! He’s lying now!"

Levin, though mentioning it last week, didn't really say too much about it at the time. However, thinking about it over the weekend, Mark thought it might be time to address it 'the way it needs to be addressed,' and did so on Monday's program...
"Let me tell you something, folks. Oprah Winfrey has no idea. Oh, I know, she's black, but she has no idea, no idea. Most of us have no idea what it's like to live in a country that really is brutally racist, or brutally anti-semetic, or brutally any of these things. We really don't."

"Where do people want to come from the third world? Where do people want to come from all these countries that are not considered white or caucasian countries? They want to come here to the United States."

"If we are as Oprah Winfrey says, if we are as Jesse Jackson says, if we are as Al Sharpton says, if we are as CAIR says, and on and on and on, why are people dying to get across our border, across deserts, across rivers, threatened by drug smugglers, rapists, why do they come here by the millions if we are as Oprah Winfrey says?"

"Do they come here to be abused? Do they come here to be mistreated? No. They come here because we're NOT what Oprah Winfrey says."

"This is not a racist nation. Oprah Winfrey has made enormous sums of money, enormous sums of money on television, with books, with productions, with magazines, with radio, you name it. She's a walking-talking conglomerate. And she did it in this "racist America" where three-fourths of the population is said to be white..."

"And we have one political party in the country that uses this constantly to gin up various constituent groups. They abuse their constituent groups, they lie to their constituent groups, they upset their constituent groups. For what? So they can stay in power, these politicians."

"I watch these actors in Hollywood go on and on and on about what a racist nation we are. It's incredible! People who have benefited from this nation, who live in the lap of luxury. And they act like they're revolutionaries or something. They act like they're protesters against the system. THEY ARE THE SYSTEM! They're the system! Obama's the system! Oprah Winfrey's the system!"
Truth Will Out! And calling everything under the sun 'racist' instead of acknowledging the fundamental disagreements that arise between Ideology and Principle might one day be one of them.
