The Christmas list that matters

For conservatives, the year has been much more optimistic, but definitely not without its challenges. Between the wins and losses, the battle for principle, as well as trying to steer a new administration towards said direction, wages on. So as we near the year's end with a season of America's most merry tradition, it's only natural to reflect on particular lists. Both the naughty and nice one...

“He’s making a list. He’s checking it twice. He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice.” When it comes to the mainstream media, Santa definitely has them on the naughty list. The whole biased crew of them should expect nothing but coal in their stockings this Christmas.

Media bias is nothing new. But in 2017, it shifted into overdrive. Donald Trump’s inauguration as president set off a year of outright media hostility that is unprecedented in its scope.
...as well as the wishlist filled with desires and necessities...

Last year, following Donald Trump’s historic and unexpected election to the presidency, I put together a conservative Christmas 2017 policy wish-list. With full control of Congress and the White House, Republicans were in a unique position to implement the conservative agenda following the disastrous presidency of Barack Obama.

One year later, President Trump and the Republicans can claim several promises fulfilled, but too many are left unfinished. The Republicans still have one year to deliver on their campaign promises before the 2018 midterm elections. Failure to do so may sweep them out of power.

Which promises were kept? Which are still waiting? Let’s review.

However, for Christians, conservative or otherwise, this season should trump all lists of political virtues and vices, traversing beyond our natural inclinations. In fact, this is a season in which I generally attempt to set aside our human folly known as politics long enough to meaningfully observe and contemplate its true uniting reason: the perfect incarnation of a Savior to save humanity from itself. God knew we needed it then and knows we need it just as evermore now...
AND it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. ~ Luke 2:1-14
Upon reflection of God's covenants through the ages, Erickson reminds us, "This Christmas, as the burdens overwhelm you, be overwhelmed by God's desire for a relationship with you." For the moment you can, unshackle your life from the usual squabbles, and remember to love God and your neighbor and allow all good will to flow from there. That's the least of where we might begin on a more righteous path in observance of One born into the world to inevitably sacrifice for the salvation of His creation, forgiving the transgressions of our own devices, and providing a path of everlasting life. Remember the reason for the season, and may we remain as vigilant in returning our nation to Christ as keeping watch for His redeeming return. Now that's a list I want to make! Merry Christmas.

Actually, Americans largely support the tax bill

As Republicans on Capitol Hill prepare to wrap up a tax bill today to send to President Trump's desk, which he will swiftly sign, the majority of what we're hearing in the liberal, Democrat-led media spin is how 'unpopular' the bill is. That's right, the same media that pushed and praised the worthless Obamacare, despite the underinsured doubling since 2003. I even heard mention this morning now using Obamacare in the negative to cast admonition on this tax bill! To further demonstrate the absurdity of the lib press, the blind allegiance of their like-minded voter base and unfortunately how easy it is to sucker the people at large with such coverage, upon removing 'Trump' or 'Republicans' from polling questionnaires, responses change dramatically towards a positive direction. Imagine that!
CR: If you pay attention to the mainstream media, you’d think that the vast majority of Americans hate the tax bill and the policies it contains.

Is that really true, or is it just more fake news? The editorial board at Investor’s Business Daily found out something interesting when they polled the actual policies in the tax reform bill: Americans largely support them.

It’s as if the mainstream media is asking leading questions to produce a response they desire — that advances an agenda. Well, of course.

...That is mostly because of the wording of the question, and the job that the mainstream media has done to drive down both Donald Trump and Republican legislators’ approval numbers. This polling is reflective of that.

When you look at the actual policies, there is broad support.

Most of the surveys, however, only ask people broad questions about the tax cuts: Do they support the plan overall? Do they think they'll get a tax cut? Will they boost economic growth? Here’s what IBD says:
What's more, when people are asked about key provisions in the tax bill, support rises across the board.

The IBD/TIPP poll is one of the few that has bothered to ask such questions. The results from the November survey:
57% support lowering corporate rate from 35% to 20%.
55% support reducing the number of tax brackets.
83% support cutting the pass-through tax rate for small businesses to 25%.
66% support doubling the standard deduction.
Other polls produced similar findings. CNN found that 55% support increasing the standard deduction, 79% back the boost in the child tax credit, and a plurality support the mortgage deduction limit.
Imagine that, the American people actually want a tax cut, if they actually get one. That is why the GOP is right to ignore the media narrative on polling and focus on delivering a tax cut for the vast majority of actual taxpayers. Come election time, the liberal media ruse will be shattered. And they know it.
They're not reporting the truth, folks. Simple as that. Of course, they wouldn't know it if it bit'em on the ass. If they were capable of acknowledging it, this tidbit would assuredly be at the top of your radar:
If the tax bill passes the Senate and becomes law, beginning in Feb. 2018, millions of Americans will see a higher take-home paycheck. That’s because withholding will be adjusted to reflect the tax cut they are getting. When that happens, those people, who have been lied to by the media, will start to see the tangible effects of this tax legislation.

When that happens they will realize that they have, once again, been lied to by the media.
It's freedom of the press, not Pravda, American mainstream media! You'd do good to remember that, instead of feeding us propaganda filled with the preclusion of failure just because it involves Republicans and Trump.

Is it perfect? Is anything perfect? Obviously, if government has anything to do with it, no. Though we'll likely see a deficit increase, because Washington has overextended their never-ending spending spree on either side of the aisle, this has the potential to draw businesses back to our shores with reinvestment and jobs, while taking out less in our paychecks and allowing us to take more home where it's needed most. Not to mention if earned pay is given back to the people who actually earned it, this begins to place the reigns of an out-of-control government back into the hands of the people, instead of the rulers who've misspent our tax funds all these years, thus forcing constraint and cuts toward the overall debt. Either way, sounds like less government waste of our money, and that's a net win. Report that, American media!

Levin makes the latest on Russian 'concoction' crystal clear (UPDATES)

It's absurd that every time this collusion crap points directly back to Democratic subversion, the biased press go mum & divert to whatever garbage controversy of the day will distract the people. Then when they think some remote nothing has sprang up to harm Trump, they're incessantly right back at it. Suddenly, it's 'news' again to smear across the screen, when they've literally got zilch. This has been the exhausting cycle for a solid year now (which of course is the left's point). Meanwhile, the rest of us are yelling at our flat panels and radios, "INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATORS!" Maddening, as is the brunt of politics these days.

You want the skinny on the real collusion in a compact nutshell? After discussing the need to maintain control of the House if anything of the truth is ever to be revealed (yeah, I know, this is Washington we're talking about), Levin laid out the 'concoction' on Thursday's program, making what's going on as clear as day...
"There was no Trump collusion with Russia. There was a concoction...of Kremlin apparatchiks feeding "opposition researchers" funded by Hillary Clinton's campaign and the DNC. The sickening irony of all this is that the Democrat Party and their operators at the top levels of the FBI, parts of the Justice Dept., and in the Special Council's office, they're the ones who've been colluding with the Russians, wittingly and unwittingly, directly and indirectly.

Wouldn't you think by now, ladies and gentlemen, with thousands of reporters investigating who hate Donald Trump, with hundreds of members of Congress investigating who hate Donald Trump, with multiple committees of Congress investigating who hate Donald Trump, that if there was one scintilla, ONE SCINTILLA, of evidence that Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, her husband, their cousins, whatever, if there was one scintilla of evidence that they colluded with Putin on this election, that by now we would have it?! Where is it, Mr. Mueller? Where is it, Mr. Comey? Where is it, New York Times and Washington Post? Where is it, Mr. Schiff? Where is it, Mr. Warner? Spit it out! Show it to us! We want to see it, and we want to see it right now! But they can't. It doesn't exist.

What does exist is one of the most corrupt efforts by the senior levels of the FBI, by certain prosecutors at the Dept. of Justice and the Special Council's office, and I may add the senior levels of our Intelligence agencies, to try and take out a candidate, and now to try to take out a president."
On Thursday’s Mark Levin show... 54% of the American people believe that Robert Mueller’s investigation is partisan. If he was interested in justice he would have shut down this operation and said there was no collusion between the Trump administration and Russia. To add, Jim Comey has demonstrated himself to have obstructed justice. He was not pursuing justice in the Hillary Clinton investigation but was trying to clear her. The FBI did a lot of editing which erased serious concerns in Comey’s press conference speech about Hillary’s conduct. All across the spectrum of this investigation there was an effort to soften language and downplay Hillary’s actions. These events will never see the light of day if Republicans do not hold onto the House. In their place we will see endless efforts to impeach President Trump.

When Alabama fell for it, and the implications that follow

"You beat Mo Brooks with millions in dishonest ads during the GOP primary because Brooks pledged to vote against you for majority leader. Then you helped Doug Jones in the general election well before the Washington Post story on Roy Moore was published. You didn't get your guy so you sabotaged the process." ~ Mark Levin to Mitch McConnell, 12/12/17
Let's not forget about helping feed the media frenzy to besmirch a man based solely on allegation. That won't stop the media cheerleading today, though. With all of these disgusting components, the supposed right colluding with the left, Alabamians gave up and fell for it, giving their state the first Democrat senator in 25 years (one of the headlines you'll find celebrated by the lib press)...
AmericanThinker: Obviously the Democrat pollsters were right about their projected win of Doug Jones over Roy Moore. The relentless attacks by self-righteous Democrats and their willing accomplices in the liberal drive-by media to paint Roy Moore as an immoral pedophile worked like a charm.
"And their willing accomplices" would most certainly include McConnell and the Bush/Establishment league, as well as the NeverTrump hanger-ons (the election was over a year ago, fools), who played their parts perfectly along with the Democrats. I believe I've stated before concerning many of these men, like McConnell, McCain, Flake, several of the Republican operatives out there, that for all intents and purposes, they're Democrats now. Sorry, but it's true. This disunity could easily contribute to larger consequences to come...
Regardless of the facts concerning any of Moore’s accusers’ stories, the constant drumbeat of sexual assault by Roy Moore seemed to be enough to wear down many of his supporters while energizing the opposition against him.

What’s even more significant for the Democrats is that Doug Jones won in a highly red state that Donald Trump won by well over twenty points. This is huge for the Democrats moving forward to the next Presidential election and will play the biggest part in their strategy to defeat President Trump.
And here lies the latest stratagem...
So it’s no coincidence that President Trump’s sexual assault accusers reemerged just days before the Alabama Senate election. And it’s no coincidence that many Democrats came out and demanded that President Trump resign. The battle for the Presidency in 2020 for the Democrats has begun.

The strategy to defeat President Trump in 2020 will be exactly what defeated Roy Moore last night. Democrats and their willing accomplices in the liberal drive-by media will continue to paint President Trump as a serial sexual abuser from now until election night in November 2020. You can bet there will be many more women coming out soon with allegations against President Trump; and regardless of the facts of any of their stories, they will be given constant exposure by the liberal media outlets and the full support of every Democrat in office.

Because this strategy is really all the Democrats have, they will be relentless and do whatever it takes to pull it off – even if it means sacrificing more of their own along the way. Their ace in the hole is the drive-by media - which they know will be all-in on this strategy.

Democrats know this strategy has a good chance to work because after a couple of years the American people will be so tired of the constant attacks against President Trump that enough of them will just want it to stop. And the only way to get it to stop will be to get rid of President Trump. Unfortunately for conservatives, the 2020 presidential election will play-out in America just like it did in Alabama.

I saw first-hand the same strategy work in my home state of North Carolina against a very moderate Republican Governor. While it wasn’t sexual misconduct allegations against Gov. Pat McCrory, there was a constant barrage of negative, and mostly false political allegations, that were espoused at a weekly liberal gathering in Raleigh called “Moral Mondays.” Those gatherings were covered every week like it was the second coming and were reported religiously by every liberal media outlet. By the end of McCrory’s first term people were so sick of the partisan bickering they wanted it to stop. It worked and McCrory was narrowly defeated – and Trump even won NC.
Let's not forget the Democratic/Republican/Media establishment's part in Chris McDaniel's defeat as well. #RememberMississippi?

Nationalizing state and local politics is paying off for the Washington elite.
Mark my words; this strategy against Trump is what is going to happen – and will probably work.
If folks continue to take allegation (whether proven or unproven), as well as slander and outright LIE for truth, while sweeping real issues that affect our lives and our humanity aside, then, yeah, probably so.

Levin picked up on this strategy and the fraud behind it last night as well...
“Here we have the Democrats working with the media to try and change the subject from Hollywood, from Congress, to Donald Trump. It was always going to be the case.”

The snowball effect is what they're hoping for, and if the McConnell Club has its way, that's what they'll provide their colluders...and through our own collective gullibilities, what we'll unfortunately be stuck with.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive, America.

Jerusalem IS Israel's capital (UPDATES)

Has been for 3000 years since King David proclaimed it so; has been nearly 70 years since modern Israel's statehood (recognized by President Truman within minutes after its announcement in 1948, btw). Despite four presidential promises broken and 25 years of skirting the common sense truth of the matter (no thanks in part to an anti-Semitic media who seems to cheerlead for violent response), as of December 6, 2017 (St. Nicholas Day no less), a U.S. President finally leads in this affirmation through not only an official recognition, but by moving our embassy to the Jewish state's rightful capital...
Israeli PM Netanyahu praised this ‘historic’ decision by Trump and encouraged others to move their embassies to Jerusalem...
CR: “We cannot solve our problems by making the same failed assumptions and repeating the same failed strategies of the past. All challenges demand new approaches.” — President Donald Trump

This day has been long overdue. In fact, the U.S. initially recognized the Jewish people’s right to sovereignty over the entirety of the land west of the Jordan River, including Jerusalem, 95 years ago. But endless threats of the "Arab street" has deterred them from following through with this commitment … until President Trump.

The fact that he is willing to break the same old paradigm of putting “Arab street” concerns above our interests and doing what’s right is a very positive quality that will hopefully bear fruit on other foreign and domestic policies as well. There never was an Arab Palestinian state in the Holy Land and all the land west of the Jordan River was originally earmarked for the Jewish state under the Balfour Declaration exactly 100 years ago. That plan was adopted by the Allied powers and the League of Nations in 1920 and 1922.

... For the next 95 years the Arab agitators waged jihad and every modern American president has cowered in the face of jihad. The entire purpose of the agreement on Palestine [which was a Jewish, not Arab term, harkening back to the days of Roman emperor Hadrian] was to give the land only to the entity that would protect the holy sites and civil rights, yet global elites here and abroad rewarded Arabs for violating the agreement.

Violence, indeed, does pay and did pay off for the jihadists. Commensurate with every threat of violence was a demand that Jews pay tribute in the form of blood or surrender.

After 95 years, Trump has righted a wrong and restored the original intent of a unanimous body of Congress in 1922. Heading forward, it’s important for Trump to surround himself with those who share his views and that he not back down in the face of the century-old Arab tactic of threatening violence.

Although he promised to move the embassy, it’s clear that the State Department will undermine him. And his own appointees – State Sec. Rex Tillerson and Defense Sec. James Mattis – opposed even the Jerusalem announcement.

Trump was right to acknowledge the failure of past pathetic policies and the need for new thinking. He can truly be a transformational president if he fixes the personnel problems and commits to translating his rhetoric into policy outcomes by paying attention to details of our broader failed foreign policy in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Finally, this should be a first step in abandoning the entire notion of having jihadists govern Judea and Samaria, and instead fulfill the original Mandate for Palestine. To quote Congressman Chandler from his 1922 speech, “The Greeks have Greece. Let us give Palestine back to the Jews.”
Though this is the beginning of righting a wrong that's to be celebrated by the faithful for sure, this shifting tide also calls for even those of a more secular nature, particularly within Jerusalem's own streets, to bend a knee and give thanks to the Almighty. Remember, He will not abandon His chosen.
