Don't buy it!

If the Obama narrative is that he just needs a few more years to do what he initially ran on (i.e., fix the economy), wouldn't that mean, as Rush so eloquently put it, "that Barack Obama is gonna inherit a worse economy than he inherited the first time around?"

So folks, the question is are we gonna buy into this Democrat/Media narrative that permeates in the shadow of such a weak economy? Rush says, "the only way any of this could be true is if the American People are at a record level of stupidity." Exactly right..."how stupid do you have to be?!"

This is what a real world leader looks like

Yesterday, Benjamin Netanyahu, a real world leader, gave an amazing speech to the UN...

"Yet the medieval forces of radical Islam, whom you just saw storming the American embassies throughout the Middle East...they seek supremacy over all muslims. They're bent on world conquest. They want to destroy Israel, Europe, America. They want to extinguish freedom. They want to end the modern world."

Throughout his speech, Bibi fearlessly called out Ahmedinejad and faced down the Islamic threats of terrorism...

The stand-out moment of his speech was of course the one that everyone's talking about...the message he attempted to get through to every other leader in the room, including the tinhorn dictators there, just how close Iran are to creating a nuclear weapon, via Diagram A...

Of course, guess who doesn't agree with Bibi's 'red line'...

BeltwayConfidential: President Obama called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and reiterated his opposition to Iran possessing a nuclear weapon, but he did not accede to Netanyahu’s request for a red line statement.

“The two leaders discussed a range of security issues, and the President reaffirmed his and our country’s unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security,” the White House Press Office stated in a readout of Obama’s call. “The two leaders underscored that they are in full agreement on the shared goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”

In short, Obama’s position did not change despite Netanyahu’s high-profile appeal at the United Nations yesterday.

The dillholes at the White House thought it even fit to release a photo of Obama's displeasure...

Fortunately, some leaders, like our ally to the north, led by PM Stephen Harper, praised Netanyahu's red line speech...

JerusalemPost: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper told Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that his speech at the UN is now “reverberating” around the world, Netanyahu said Friday.

Harper said that Canada wanted to see a peaceful resolution to the Iranian crisis, “and we work closely with our allies to try and alert the world to the danger this presents and the necessity of dealing with it.”

Netanyahu said his speech was an attempt to translate the principle of stopping Iran into practice.

“In practice, that means setting red lines on their enrichment process. It’s their only discernible and vulnerable part of their nuclear program,” Netanyahu said before a breakfast meeting in New York with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Netanyahu reiterated what he said in his speech, that he believes Iran will “back off” if red lines are set.

During their meeting, Netanyahu praised Harper again for Canada’s decision recently to sever ties with Iran. “I think that what you did, severing ties with Iran, was not only an act of statesmanship, but an act of moral clarity,” he said.

So, at least in the meantime, while we work to oust our current Disgrace in office, perhaps Israel will maintain some sense of security knowing that they're not completely alone in this.

The economy is tanking, folks

...while the media wants us to believe Obama is surging? Get real.

Ed Morrissey says we're 'over the cliff', pointing to a drop in durable goods and a second-quarter GDP downgrade...

A key measure of the economy, especially in manufacturing, just had the bottom fall out. Orders for durable goods dropped 13.2% in August, the worst decrease in almost four years, and a large signal that the American economy is diving into a recession...the BEA also delivered its final word on Q2 growth, scaling down their last estimate of 1.7% to 1.3%.

MarketWatch has reports on both as well, here and here.

Another stark word came from James Pethokoukis of AEI today: It’s all unraveling.

Has the U.S. economy turned a corner? Yes, and then another corner and now it’s going backward. A slew of bad economic data today... Then we have this recession forecast from Strategas Research:

If the above forecast is correct, the National Bureau of Economic Research might wind up declaring that the U.S. economy slipped back into recession in late 2012 even though the economy was actually not yet contracting at that point. (Here is my post from earlier on why we are in the recession red zone.)

And if that happens, economic historians might well shove aside the weak three-year recovery and call the entire 2007-2013 period, the Long Recession...

Pethokoukis also points to weaknesses in the private sector, making the recovery unstable...you know, what Obama says is 'doing fine'.

But no, don't pay attention to any of this...just keep believing those bogus polls.

Or...wake up to reality.

Laugh of the Day: A real Obama voter! (UPDATES)

Showing up at a Romney event yesterday, we get a glimpse of a real live Obama voter...or is it 'victim'...same difference, I guess...

Wait, this 47%er sounds familiar...

BTW, the Obama phone is real.

UPDATES: via El Rushbo...

"Yeah, there you have it. That's the 47% that Romney was talking about. By the way, that is a bought and paid for SEIU protester. We have since learned that the SEIU, the Service Employees International Union, paid these people $11 an hour. They're following Romney around. This group of 'em is in Ohio. They have a different bunch of 'em state by state, $11 an hour for that."

...and of course Alfonzo Rachel had something to say about the Obamaphone lady...

Confirmed: Obama administration LIED about Benghazi

No need in sugar-coating it. They knew this was a terrorist attack within the first day, but tried to play it off as something else and blame America first...

FoxNews: U.S. intelligence officials knew within 24 hours of the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that it was a terrorist attack and suspected Al Qaeda-tied elements were involved, sources told Fox News -- though it took the administration a week to acknowledge it.

The account conflicts with claims on the Sunday after the attack by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice that the administration believed the strike was a "spontaneous" event triggered by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islam film.

...and some members of the Senate are finally reacting...

Sen. DeMint has also called for a full investigation into the White House’s deception, releasing a scathing letter to The Hill:

It’s far past time to get all the facts. We need a comprehensive
detailed report rather than waiting for various officials to dribble
them out one interview at a time.

The need for this information is urgent and should not be pushed until
after the election. Keeping America safe is not a partisan issue, it’s
a national one.

(h/t: HotAir)

Wake up call!

Levin was on fire last night! If we don't end this irresponsible governmental spending, mounting debt upon debt on the backs of American households, we could very well end up like Greece or Spain...

"Wake the hell up! Because your children are being threatened by the greatest political child abuser in modern American history."

Mark implores everyone to realize that we're raiding the future for the next generations, amassing debt above GDP, either taking over or outright brutalizing various industries, undermining the Constitution, blurring the separation of powers, all while subsidizing utopian dependency...there is a point of no return! "There's a point at which you cannot reverse course!" And that's why this election cycle is so crucial. We have no time to buy into media hype and bogus polls...

"Damn it, wherever you live, you gotta turn out and vote!"

An 'unskewed' look at the polls

We all know that most of these bogus, Dem-oversampled polls floating out there by the Obama-zombies in the media are just that, right? Rush has been reminding us over the past several days not to get caught up or discouraged by the media's all-in attempt to reelect Obama (as if it's not blatantly obvious to the trained eye!). These polls are designed to do nothing more than depress you and attempt to convince everybody that this election is already over. And I don't think I'll be the first or last to call BS on them!

But rather than pick them apart and dwell on the media malpractice, let's do something more constructive and take a look at a few unskewed charts...

Freedom's Lighthouse: Jay Cost, at the Weekly Standard, has put together this chart showing where incumbent Presidents have been in the Gallup Poll in mid-September. As you see, and as Cost points out, every incumbent President who has been below 50% in mid-September has lost. Every incumbent President above 50% has ended up the winner. Right now, Barack Obama is at 47%.

Yes, I know, suddenly the polls average Obama's approval at nearly 50%...funny how that happens, huh? Not really, when, as I said before, most of the media are shamelessly all-in for their guy. But let's look at even more...this one's very interesting...

WND: Arguing that most of the major polls reported by establishment media are “skewed” in favor of the Democratic Party and incumbent Barack Obama, a website contends that a true gauge of the presidential race, based on more realistic models, shows Republican challenger Mitt Romney leading by an average of nearly eight points.

In its daily readjustment of the polling data, UnskewedPoll.com also produces a table showing the spread in President Obama’s approval/disapproval ratio is an average of 8.8 percent more disapproval, as of Monday.

Not a single major poll or approval/disapproval index favors Obama when Unskewed.com’s analysis is applied.

The website says there is Democratic bias in polling because of over-sampling Democrats based on voter exit polls in the 2008 presidential election, when enthusiasm for a then relatively unknown but charismatic presidential candidate boosted Democratic Party voter registration and turnout to historic levels.

Republicans have complained that the establishment media’s voter-turnout models can serve a partisan purpose by presenting margins that keep discouraged Republican voters at home thinking the election is already lost.

You bet that's what this is all about! Don't be fooled, folks...this election is far from over.

Libyan President: video 'had nothing to do with this attack'

And there ya go...from the Libyan President's own words...

HotAir: Why should we listen to what Mohamed Magarief has to say about the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, which claimed the lives of four Americans, including the first US Ambassador murdered in the line of duty since 1979? For one thing, the Libyan president’s story hasn’t changed — unlike that of the White House. While UN Ambassador Susan Rice insisted ten days ago that the sacking of the consulate happened because a protest over a YouTube video “spun out of control,” Magarief has insisted all along that not only was there no protest before the attack, the attack itself was very controlled and disciplined. He tells NBC News that the attack had “nothing to do with” the 14-minute video, and had everything to do with the anniversary of 9/11.

So...Obama and his administration have been outright lying to us about the U.S. consulate attack in Benghazi for at least the past two weeks. Anybody surprised? Congress at the very least should be...

ADDENDUM: Besides reporting the above, Ed Morrissey is all over this story this morning, revealing a bombshell on how soon the administration knew Ambassador Steven's assassination was the work of terrorists...

Five days after the attack on the Benghazi consulate that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, the Obama administration sent UN Ambassador Susan Rice onto five Sunday talk shows to insist that the sacking of the consulate was the result of a protest over a YouTube video that “spun out of control.” The government of Libya was already scoffing at that story, and by the end of the next week the White House began reluctantly admitting that terrorists had attacked the diplomatic mission. Today, however, Eli Lake reports for the Daily Beast that the Obama administration knew within 24 hours that the attack had not been a spontaneous event, but a well-planned terrorist attack.

...as well as the likely motive behind why the administration is hiding the truth about this attack...

The outrage over the Benghazi attack and the Obama administration’s response has percolated for two weeks on Capitol Hill, but it’s breaking out into the open today. Last week, the White House briefing for Congress frustrated Senator Bob Corker so badly that he told reporters, “That is the most useless, worthless briefing I have attended in a long time.” Today, House Armed Services chair Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon told Fox News that the Obama administration seems to be deliberately hiding the “truth” about the Benghazi attack, and that the only reason he sees for the subterfuge is the date in November that’s fast approaching:

Romney: 'free enterprise can create enduring prosperity'

Some might say this was walking into a bit of a hornet's nest, but Mitt handled himself just fine...delivering another quite superb speech to a different kind of crowd that may have actually listened...and I swear I heard some Milton Friedman in there as well!

On Tuesday, both Obama and Romney addressed the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York, but that was the only commonality of their appearances. Taking very different approaches in their speeches, Obama talked of slavery (i.e., human trafficking), while Romney talked of freedom, outlining proposals to tie U.S. foreign aid to job creation and economic reforms in recipient nations (e.g., 'prosperity pacts', 'Reagan economic zone', 'aid for trade', etc.). Talking up the free enterprise system...what an impressive concept!

"Work. That has to be at the heart of our effort to help people build economies, that can create jobs, young and old alike. Work builds self-esteem. It transforms minds from fantasy and fanaticism to reality and grounding. Work does not long tolerate corruption, nor will it quietly endure the brazen theft by government of the product of hard working men and women."

"The aim of a much larger share of our aid must be the promotion of work and the fostering of free enterprise. Nothing we can do as a nation will change lives and nations more effectively and permanently than sharing the insight that lies at the foundation of America’s own economy – and that is, that free people perusing happiness in their own ways build a strong and prosperous nation."

"Now, when I was in business, I traveled to a number of other countries. I was often struck by the vast difference in wealth among nations that were sometimes neighbors... I became convinced that the critical difference between these countries wasn't geography. I noticed that the most successful countries shared something in common. They were the freest. They protected the rights of individuals. They enforced the rule of law. They encouraged trade and enterprise. They understood that economic freedom is the only force in history that has consistently lifted people out of poverty and kept them out of poverty."

"Look, a temporary aid package can give an economy a boost. It can fund projects. It can pay some bills. It can employ some people for a time. But it can't sustain an economy, not for the long term. It can't pull the whole cart, if you will, because at some point, the money runs out. But an assistance program that helps unleash free enterprise can create enduring prosperity."

Romney even included a word for Ahmadinejad over at the UN assembly:

"Today we face a world with unprecedented challenges and complexities. We should not forget and cannot forget, not far from here, a voice of unspeakable evil and hatred has spoken out threatening Israel and the entire civilized world. But we come together knowing that the bitterness of hate is no match for the strength of love."

And then a final knock at Obama:

"A year from now, I hope to return to this meeting as president, having made substantial progress toward achieving the reforms I’ve outlined. But I also hope to remind the world of the goodness and the bigness of the American heart. I will never apologize for America. I believe that America has been one of the greatest forces for good the world has ever known. We can hold that knowledge in our hearts with humility and unwavering conviction."

As theRightScoop summarized, "in a time where there exists a leadership vacuum in Washington, it was very refreshing to hear."

More anti-colonialist disdain for America

Shared with some of our not-so-friendly allies, no less. There's been plenty of attention paid to Obama's 'Islam' comment at the UN assembly today, but my attention was sparked at the onset of this excerpt, where Obama says, "The future must not belong to those corrupt few who steal a country’s resources..." Really? So that how he's sees US? This sounds a LOT like what D'Souza's been telling us with his 2016 film...more anti-colonialist disdain for America.

A 'View' of the Obama presidency

A picture is worth a thousand words...so what do these say about the Obama presidency?

Monday, September 24: Secretary Clinton meets with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari

Monday, September 24: Secretary Clinton meets with Libyan President Mohamed Magariaf

Monday, September 24: Secretary Clinton meets with Afghan President Hamid Karzai

Monday, September 24: Secretary Clinton meets with Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi

Monday, September 24: The Obama's meet with the gaggles of “The View”

I've got a few...

...but perhaps he should at least consider meeting with this leader...

...instead of this schmuck?

This is our President, America?

Levin: 'America, have you had enough?'

Last night, Levin went nuclear on Obama & Clinton over their unending apology tour...

"The Obama doctrine is the Chamberlain doctrine...which is a disaster."

Rush: '39 seconds of dynamite for Obama'

There's a LOT more than Obama's 'bumps in the road' comment in these 39 seconds...

“The question presumes that somehow we could have stopped this wave of change.” Mr. President, you fueled it! You wanted credit for it! ... He said that this was happening in the image of his ’08 campaign. He tried to get in front of this and make it look like he, The Messiah, had inspired what was going on. And now he dares say that the question presumes we coulda stopped this? He didn't want to stop this; he was all for the Arab Spring. I'm reminded of the Stalin quote: A million dead, that's a statistics; four dead, that's just a 'bump in the road'."

Obama's majority coalition

On Monday, Rush further discussed the 'Obama 1998 tape' and the 'Romney donor tape', pointing out that Obama admitted exactly what Romney described: Obama's intention to build a majority coalition of dependents on the state...a majority coalition of welfare recipients.

But, we're not supposed to believe any of Obama's redistributionist speech simply because Rush is talking about it.

Here's more from Rush on Obama's majority coalition...and what Romney's job in this campaign must be...

ADDENDUM: Rush continued on Tuesday's program discussing Obama's big push for a majority coalition...

"His big electoral push is for the mental midgets in this country, proudly so."

Stopping Obama's war on coal

Today the House passed a crucial measure to curtail and stop Obama's war on the coal industry...

HumanEvents: The House on Friday passed a package of bills to ease Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations against the coal industry, an issue Republicans are banking on to attract voters who will bear the brunt of increased electricity rates as a result of the Obama administration rules.

“Since taking office, the Obama administration has waged a multi-front war on coal, on coal jobs, on the small businesses in the mining supply chain, and on the low-cost energy that millions of Americans rely upon,” said Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee.

An estimated 2,000 jobs have been lost in the coal industry this year, with another 10,000 layoffs in direct and related jobs expecting in coming months. This week, Alpha Natural Resources announced they were closing eight mines and cutting 1,200 jobs, citing aggressive regulations as the reason for the company’s failure. The coal industry estimates its labor force at 135,000.

The Stop the War on Coal Act includes five bills that would block greenhouse gas regulations, require a cost and economic impact accounting of certain regulations imposed by the EPA give the states rather than the federal government regulation of coal ash and water pollution control, and an embargo on a surface mining rule.

With reports of more layoffs and mines shutting down because of restrictive regulations, the House has stepped up and taken action. Now let's see if the Senate will be nearly as effective and send this message onto the very man that's waged this battle.

I'd like to think that these ads are making an impact in this congressional effort, particularly in those bluer districts...

Ryan addressing the AARP drones

“I had a feeling there would be mixed reactions.”

Ryan attempts to sensibly address the AARP drones in regards to where Obamacare will take us compared to the Romney/Ryan approach. Though there was some applause from the reasonable, he received the most hostility when promising to repeal Obamacare and fix Medicare. So this is what entitlements have reduced us to? Booing instead of listening...

My advice to those seniors who care about safeguarding the next generation's retirement just as much as their own: go with the better alternative. Join AMAC...Better for you. Better for America.

Obama 'can't change Washington'...Romney 'can and will'

"This is time for a new president!"

Obama says "You can't change Washington from the inside, you can only change it from the outside."

Romney says, "We're gonna give him that chance in November. He's going outside!"

Right on, right on!

FYI...Obama's entire Univision interview was a freakin' disaster! (here, here, here, here & here)

Administrative misdirection...and further results

While the Obama administration continues to misdirect the blame and pander (with our money, no less)...

FoxNews: The American Embassy in Islamabad, in a bid to tamp down public rage over the anti-Islam film produced in the U.S., is spending $70,000 to air an ad on Pakistani television that features President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton denouncing the video.

...here's the prolonged results from today's 'Day of Love for the Prophet Mohammed' Effective ad, no? No...no it isn't.

GlobalPost: Protesters filled the streets of several cities in Pakistan on Friday for a day of government-sanctioned protests against the anti-Islam film, "Innocence of Muslims."

The crowds turned violent and The New York Times reported that as many as 19 people have been killed in the protests, according to a Pakistani television station.

Day 11 of this chaos, and apparently it's still going strong throughout the Muslim World...

AFP: About 10,000 Bangladeshis took to the streets of Dhaka on Friday to demonstrate against an anti-Islam film made in the US and cartoons in a French satirical magazine caricaturing the Prophet Mohammed.

The protesters, many carrying banners from half a dozen Islamist groups, burnt an effigy of Barack Obama outside the national Baitul Mokarram Mosque, the country’s largest, after Friday prayers.

So, how's this tact workin' for ya, Mr. President?

Amb. Stevens believed he was on Al Qaeda hit list

Incredible...unimaginable.

NYDailyNews: U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three other Americans killed in an assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi will be mourned in Tripoli by U.S. and Libyan officials Thursday amid reports that Stevens believed he had been marked for death for months by Al Qaeda.

Prior to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed him U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens noted the rising presence of Al Qaeda in Libya and believed his name was on the terror group’s hit list.

So why was this man, this consulate, not better protected? Something's terribly awry...

Fast & Furious whitewash

Total DC bullsh*t...

AP: The Justice Department‘s internal watchdog on Wednesday faulted the agency for misguided strategies, errors in judgment and management failures during a bungled gun-trafficking probe in Arizona that disregarded public safety and resulted in hundreds of weapons turning up at crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.

In the 471-page report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred more than a dozen people for possible department disciplinary action for their roles in Operation Fast and Furious and a separate, earlier probe known as Wide Receiver, undertaken during the George W. Bush administration. A former acting deputy attorney general and the head of the criminal division were criticized for actions and omissions related to operations subsequent to and preceding Fast and Furious.

The report did not criticize Attorney General Eric Holder, but said lower-level officials should have briefed him about the investigation much earlier.

Of course, most of us knew that under Obama and the current crop of Washington bureaucrats, Holder would come out unscathed.

ADDENDUM: Univision (not our own English-speaking MSM, mind you) asked Obama 'shouldnt' you fire' Eric Holder (question starts @ 3:20):

Eric Holder has his 'complete confidence'...in other words, Obama isn't doing squat about any of this. Figures. The only thing that's a political circus, Mr. President, is the hoops of ever-changing stories that everyone placed before Congress, including the DoJ's own Inspector General, is jumping through...

During questioning yesterday, the story is now that Holder thought he didn’t need to be informed about Fast and Furious...more BS.

Six million Americans will face Obamacare tax

Surprise...

Breitbart: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on Wednesday said nearly 6 million Americans, 2 million more than the office’s initial 2010 estimate, will face a "tax penalty" in 2014 for not having insurance once Obamacare is implemented.

President Barack Obama promised not to raise taxes on the middle class, but after the Supreme Court ruled Obamacare was constitutional because it was a tax, the CBO discovered that most of the 6 million Americans that will potentially pay the Obamacare tax are in the middle class.

Another lie....another betrayal.

Al Qaeda, ex-Gitmo detainee involved in consulate attack (UPDATE)

While the blind sheikh seems to be the Egyptian component, news broke Wednesday evening that Al Qaeda was involved in the Libyan consulate attack; in particular, an ex-Gitmo detainee.

FoxNews: Intelligence sources tell Fox News they are convinced the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was directly tied to Al Qaeda -- with a former Guantanamo detainee involved.

That revelation comes on the same day a top Obama administration official called last week's deadly assault a "terrorist attack" -- the first time the attack has been described that way by the administration after claims it had been a "spontaneous" act.

ADDENDUM: CBS reports that witnesses say there was never an anti-American protest outside the American consulate in Benghazi; instead, it came under 'planned attack'...

The public won't get a detailed account of what happened until AFTER the election? How convenient.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin reported Thursday that it was the left-wing Center for Constitutional Rights that helped free the former Gitmo detainee who is believed to have led the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi...

Longtime readers know that I’ve extensively covered the troublesome conflict of interest at the Department of Justice involving Attorney General Eric Holder and his former law firm, Covington and Burling, which has represented a score of Gitmo detainees. See my archive of posts on the matter here. Many readers have asked whether the firm represented Abu Sufian bin Qumu, the former Gitmo detainee released in 2007 — and now named as the possible lead plotter in the bloody attacks on our consulate personnel, staff, and private security contractors in Benghazi.

The left-wing organization that helped spring Qumu was the Center for Constitutional Rights. Last April, the group issued an indignant press release painting Qumu as a harmless victim and blasting those concerned about his unrepentant jihadi ways. After a trove of Gitmo documents found their way to Wikileaks and were published by the New York Times, CCR rose to Qumu’s defense and parroted jihadi propaganda that the aggrieved Qumu was actually a friend of the U.S.

As suspected, 'terrorism' behind embassy attacks...Obama administration considers kowtowing to demands

What we now know is what most thinking Americans knew then...it wasn't about a trifling internet video. This from six days ago, mind you...

USAToday: Days of planning and online promotion by hard-line Islamist leaders helped whip up the mobs that stormed the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and launched a deadly attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya that killed an ambassador and three others.

Then came the kicker...

Days of planning and online promotion by hard-line Islamist leaders helped whip up the mobs that stormed the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and launched a deadly attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya that killed an ambassador and three others. ...

The protest was planned by Salafists well before news circulated of an objectionable video ridiculing Islam’s prophet, Mohammed, said Eric Trager, an expert at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

The protest outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo was announced Aug. 30 by [Gamaa Islamiyya], a State Department-designated terrorist group, to protest the ongoing imprisonment of its spiritual leader, Sheikh Omar abdel Rahman, who is serving a life sentence in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

A.K.A. 'the blind sheikh'...Commentary Magazine expands...

Based on the report, it sounds like the anti-Islam YouTube video was a secondary issue — a way for Islamist leaders to stoke anger and draw more bodies out to the embassy protest. If the storming of the embassy was organized by Gamaa Islamiyya — as opposed to a spontaneous uprising — why hasn’t the State Department’s response reflected that? It’s hard to imagine they’re not aware of the group’s activities. In June, the State Department actually issued a visa to a member of Gamaa Islamiyya — again, this is a designated terrorist organization — and met with him in Washington, as part of a delegation of Egyptian leaders. During the meeting, he reportedly asked White House officials to release the blind sheik.

So on Monday, we began receiving potentially disastrous reports that this cowardly and apologetic administration is actually considering the blind sheik's release...after the election, of course...

TheBlaze: The U.S. State Department is actively considering negotiations with the Egyptian government for the transfer of custody of Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as “the Blind Sheikh,” for humanitarian and health reasons, a source close to the the Obama administration told TheBlaze.

The Department of Justice, however, told TheBlaze that Rahman is serving a life sentence and is not considered for possible “release.” Previous calls to the State Department were referred to the Department of Justice and so far, the State Department has neither confirmed nor denied the report.

Preposterous to even consider! I share the sentiment of these responses...

HillBuzz: "We used to KILL these terrorists. Now we give them back to the countries that produced them and will encourage them to kill more Americans. I just can’t take this anymore. Either we fight these bastards, or we are committing suicide."

theRightScoop: "What a stupid strategy that even defies common sense. Giving the Islamists what they want will just make us weaker in their eyes and won’t quell anything. It will only embolden them to do the same thing for the release of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and how many American lives would that cost us?"

When desperation supersedes rationale, well, I don't need to tell you where that leads...

Two-faced 'unpatriotic' two-step

Playing the 'bigger man' last night on a Letterman appearance doesn't work out so well for a narcissist...Oops!

The real culprit(s)

While the pro-Obama-laden media has pounced on Romney's realistic fundraiser remarks, while attempting to ignore Obama's fantasy, Levin took us on a stroll down the very real statements of Obama and his Democrat cohorts as they lead us further into the welfare state. Talk about telling and embarrassing!

1998: "I think the trick is figuring out how do we structure government systems that pool resources and hence facilitate some redistribution, because I actually believe in redistribution, uh, at least at a certain level to make sure that everybody’s got a shot."

2008: "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."

2012: "If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own...If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Of course, Obama's just the leader of the group...there's Pelosi rejoicing in unemployment checks, Reid ranting against natural resources, Schumer attempting to circumvent the First Amendment, Durbin contemptably insulting U.S. troops...the list goes on and on and on...

Naaa, none of that matters, we've gotta worry about what Romney says. Ridiculous...it's apparent who's destroying American society, and it ain't Mitt Romney, folks. Pay attention to the real culprits.

A golden opportunity for Romney (UPDATES)

'Controversial'? Not at all...don't let the liberal media fool ya. With these tapes of Romney serving up some red meat for Republican donors going public, a golden opportunity for Romney now arises to address the 47% of the righteously indignant who might not have listened at all before, until the media, in hopes that it would damage Romney's chances, has now allowed it...with plenty of time to discuss before the election.

As Allahpundit points out about Romney's comments, "Certainly, the Obama campaign’s never done anything to tout the sort of cradle-to-grave dependency that Romney describes here."

I mean, where would he ever get that Obama supporters feel entitled to free stuff?

Rush hit the nail on the head today:

"I don’t care how this is being cast by the media. That’s predictable. What are we doing here? What is really happening? This election is about what? It’s about stopping Barack Obama. That’s what this election’s about. And we are hoping that a majority of people agree with us, that Barack Obama needs to be stopped. So here’s Romney at the Boca Raton fundraiser, and he happens to be telling these people a certain level of truth, a certain level of accuracy. I think there’s a bunch of people in that 47% that don’t want to be there. I think there’s a lot of that 47%, they’re there because of Obama. This is such a golden opportunity."

Also, Ed Morrissey weighs in on the second attempted jab...

"If this is the second-best clip that Mother Jones has on Mitt Romney, I think his campaign can breathe a sigh of relief. ... All Romney does here is describe the situation realistically rather than aspirationally..."

"What exactly is supposed to be “embarrassing” about this? It’s a more honest assessment of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict than we’ve seen in decades from presidential-level politics, from either party."

You got that right...another golden opportunity. TheRightScoop provides a few more awesome vids on Iran and Obama's foreign policy...Romney gets it! Now it's time for his campaign to take these opportunities and go on offense with them.

UPDATES: Townhall reports that a majority agrees with Romney's comments...

As the faux outrage over Mitt Romney's "47%" comments continue to barrel through the airwaves of the old media, a CNBC poll shows 75 percent of voters believe Mitt Romney was right when he said Obama supporters will vote for him no matter what due to dependence on the government.

Now it's 76% out of over 12,000 polled...and climbing...

And if you need more proof that Romney was right, here ya go...47% DO support Obama! Barry's post-convention bounce has evaporated...

Levin: 'This is how a tyranny acts'

From Mark Levin on Monday's program:

The more we learn about this Administration, we should be very worried about what's going on. Not only are we unraveling abroad because we don't have a legitimate foreign policy strategy, but on the home front our rights are under attack. The State Department refuses to answer anymore questions regarding the Libyan attacks until the investigation is complete. Then we have audio from the Justice Department's Thomas Perez where he won't say whether or not the Administration will criminalize any speech against religion.

This is how a tyranny acts.

More on this fascism here.

Perception, manipulation and lies

So how gullible are we, America, if we buy into the mixed messages of the Obama administration over these Islamist attacks?

Breitbart: Now that the White House and State Department have made clear that they believe movies compel terrorists to terrorize, it's time for them to get ahead of this problem. And one thing the White House can do immediately is to pressure Sony to stop the release of director Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," which celebrates the killing of Osama bin Laden.

I'm only saying this because, you know, the White House and the media told me movies inflame and cause terrorism.

Think about it: if the poorly produced and laughably bad trailer for "The Innocence of Muslims" results in chaos, murder, and the burning of foreign outposts all throughout the Middle East, how much rioting and mayhem is a big-budgeted, slickly produced, Oscar-bait blockbuster celebrating the death of the leader of al-Qaeda going to cause?

This entire article is well worth the read, but of course the obviousness of this hypocrisy is not at issue for liberals and Obama, for it provides both the subjugation of political opponents and diverts from Obama's failed foreign policy. Otherwise, what of top Obama contributor Bill Maher's 'Religulous' with its mocking of Islam? Rush has the answer...one I'm certain you've already concluded as well...

And no matter how amateur the attempt, woe to those who embarrass this regime, particularly before the Arab World...(via Instapundit):

"Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable."

...bouncing back to Breitbart for the wrap-up (literally):

While terrorists brutally rape and murder our Libyan ambassador and attack and burn our foreign outposts -- all thanks to a president who disengaged from the region and embraced the Muslim Brotherhood -- here in the United States of America, a filmmaker is being scapegoated and persecuted by our government and our media.

His only crime was doing something Hollywood and celebrated artists do on a regular basis, and sometimes with our tax dollars -- denigrating a religion. Only this filmmaker made the mistake of denigrating Islam. So now he finds himself hunted. Had he poured the same energy and derision on Christianity, today he'd be celebrated.

What this is about is a president who swore to uphold the Constitution who is now caving to Islamic Law through the de facto criminalization of denigrating Islam. And he's doing it in order to give the media something shiny to play with so they’re not forced to turn their attention (until after the election) towards a failed doctrine and fatal failure to take al-Qaeda seriously.

This is happening in America.
