Honoring Veterans Day
"...on [this] day let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain." ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower, the first "Veterans Day Proclamation" (1954)
Yesterday was the Marine Corps' 236th birthday & today is Veterans Day. I'd like to thank all Vets, as well as all active duty members of all military branches, for their devoted service and selfless sacrifice in protecting our freedoms and promoting peace around the globe.
Thank a Vet today, and pray for the souls of those who, in Lincolns words, "have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom."
