Fence-jumping double standards: more 'fencing' for the White House, but little for our U.S. border? (UPDATE)

Funny how rational and proactive they become when it comes to their own security...

Everyone has heard by now about the fence-jumping incidents this past weekend. As a result, the Secret Service has erected a secondary barrier...
CBSNews: Besieged by fresh scrutiny after an armed man managed to scale the White House fence, sprint across the lawn and actually enter the doors of the North Portico before being apprehended, the Secret Service late Monday night erected a second fence line across the first family's Pennsylvania Avenue residence.

Just several feet high, the provisional cordon creates a security zone about 12 feet from the actual finial-topped fence. Designed to create a more effective level of obstruction for tourists and would-be intruders, the added barrier is an alternative to completely banning foot traffic in areas near the White House perimeter.
...and may expand the no-walking zone around the White House...
WaPo: After an unprecedented security breach Friday night at the White House, the U.S. Secret Service is weighing a series of measures that would move tourists and D.C. residents farther away from the complex to reduce the chances of intruders piercing its security perimeter and endangering the president.

One proposal is to keep people off the sidewalks around the White House fence and create several yards of additional barrier around the compound’s perimeter. Another is to screen visitors as far as a block away from the entrance gates.

So, additional security atop existing security for our rulers, yet when it comes to OUR security, they're ordered not to enforce existing law? You'd have to be blind not to see the double standard...
ConservativeUnderground: Justifiably, a great deal of concern has been expressed by lawmakers and security experts over the incident. Media outlets across the country have posted stories about the incident using headlines such as this one from ABC News saying “Fence-Jumper Makes It Into the White House”. I’m just wondering if we changed that headline to read “Fence-Jumper Makes it Into America”, would it get a different reaction?

The first version of the headline reports that a man, apparently of Hispanic descent (no mention has been made of his citizenship or immigration status) who jumped the fence and illegally entered the White House, and the second version could be about a man of Hispanic descent who jumped the border fence and entered the country illegally. Why does a single incidence of a fence breach generate so much excitement and concern when it takes place at the White House when the same thing happens hundreds of times a day along our border and no one seems to be concerned? Why did the Secret Service arrest Omar Gonzalez and remove him from the White House when those who enter the country illegally are surrendering to the Border Patrol and being welcomed with open arms?

Absolutely, I understand the need to keep the President and his family safe from those who would cause them harm, but the double standard here is unmistakable.
At this point, the author also points out the double standard presented by Gun-Free Zones, when the President and his family are protected by armed Secret Service, yet the prohibition of arms in these supposed zones is supposed to ‘protect’ children’s’ schools?
I do not begrudge the President, any President, the security necessary to keep him and his family safe; in fact, I insist on it. I want our national leaders to be free to do their jobs without being exposed to danger from those who would do them harm. I want the same freedom for me and my family, and it would be really appreciated if the President would stop doing everything in his power to deny me that freedom. Stop inviting criminals, drug cartels and terrorists into the country illegally, and stop trying to deprive me of the guns I use to defend my home and my family.
Perhaps if we could ever reach the fantasy utopia dreamed up by the Left, there wouldn't be cause for concern (yeah, I know, it'd be laughable if we didn't understand the kind of authoritarianism that's already breeding). However, as those with reason realize, there might actually be cause for concern when you have a greater infusion of Mid East immigrants within a few short years than even from Central America. Of course, I'm speaking as if we were living in normal, honest, free-speaking times, which we're pretty far from these days, unfortunately...
Breitbart: Approximately 2.5 million immigrants from “predominantly Muslim countries" reside inside the U.S. right now, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies found.

The four-page report, which details which countries and world regions from which immigrants in the U.S.—both legal and illegal—came to this country, found that since 2000 nearly a million more immigrants from such Muslim countries came to the U.S.

In 2000, there were 1,518,755 immigrants from Muslim countries in the U.S. In 2010, That number stood at 2,184,664, and in 2013 it stands at 2,480,407.

Between 2010 and 2013, there was actually a greater increase in the number of immigrants from the Middle East than from Central America.

Then to add insult to injury, we have a host of churches aiding and abetting the criminality of illegal immigration...subverting the rule of law, how Christian?
WashingtonTimes: A network of two dozen churches has promised to offer “physical sanctuary” to illegal immigrants facing deportation, saying they want to create a safe haven that federal officials won’t invade as a way of preventing the migrants from being kicked out of the country.

The movement is the latest effort by activists trying to stop as many deportations as possible after failing to win relief from President Obama, who earlier this month temporarily shelved his plans to expand his nondeportation policies, angering Hispanics and immigrant advocates.

Call me crazy, but ignoring not only the lawlessness on our southern border, but the entirety of an orderly immigration system, including the economics and assimilation or lack thereof involved, for any political purposes, whether masked behind church or state or political correctness, might validate the abundant need to fence off more than just the White House. But simply enforcing existing immigration law, keeping reasonable caps in mind, would be a positive step in the right direction.

UPDATE: Now, you know if they can deal with the Secret Service chief this quickly, they can do the same for our borders!
AP: Secret Service Director Julia Pierson resigned Wednesday, a day after bitingly critical questioning by Congress about a White House security breach. There had been increasing calls for her departure during the day.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said she offered her resignation and he accepted it.

Pierson will be replaced by Joseph Clancy, a former special agent in charge of the president's protective detail who retired in 2011. Pierson has been with the agency for 30 years.
30 years...coincidentally, about as long as our borders have been critically porous.
