Breitbart: How far will John Boehner go to accommodate Barack Obama if he retains his job as Speaker of the House? It won’t take long to find out; Obama is planning on moving swiftly on two issues which conservatives are adamant about: immigration and gun control.
According to the Huffington Post, a member of Obama’s administration told them that Obama won’t let any partisan fighting over reducing the deficit get in the way of his plans for immigration and gun control:
An Obama administration official said the president plans to push for immigration reform this January. The official, who spoke about legislative plans only on condition of anonymity, said that coming standoffs over deficit reduction are unlikely to drain momentum from other priorities. The White House plans to push forward quickly, not just on immigration reform but gun control laws as well. The time frame is likely to be cheered by Democrats and immigration reform advocates alike, who have privately expressed fears that Obama's second term will be drowned out in seemingly unending showdowns between parties.Of course, Obama isn’t saying exactly what he has in mind on either issue.
The Huffington Post quoted a Democratic operative who insinuated that Boehner will break with conservatives and accommodate Obama, noting that his actions vis-à-vis the fiscal cliff bill:
Good news for immigration advocates may have come Tuesday night, when Boehner broke the so-called “Hastert Rule” and allowed the fiscal cliff bill to come for a vote without support from a majority of his Republican conference. Given opposition to immigration reform by many Tea Party Republicans, the proof that Boehner is willing to bypass them on major legislation is a good sign.Whether the Democrats are trying to blacken Boehner’s reputation with a lie or whether it’s the truth, it is Boehner’s apparent willingness to leave conservatism behind that has marked him as the wrong leader for a conservative party.
Hmm, legalizing illegals with some form of amnesty and treating the law-abiding citizenry like criminals by disarming them with dictatorial regulations, atop the victory of class warfare against the income wealthy's 'fair share' that was ushered in with the new year...yeah, that sounds like a more prosperous and safer America. Rome is burning, folks...and a weak GOP leadership is not only not slowing the demise, but effectively stoking the pyre.
