Levin blasts 'imperial president'

Monday afternoon, Mark Levin appeared on Fox News’ America Live and express his fury over Obama‘s 'imperial presidency'...

Nile Gardiner from the UK's Telegraph says, "Mark Levin is right: Obama is an imperial president."
A large number of Americans will wholeheartedly agree with Levin’s analysis, which followed Barack Obama’s final press conference at the end of his first term of office, before his second term inauguration on Monday. Levin’s words will resonate with hard-working, over-taxed households across the country, and with good reason. There was not an ounce of humility in the president’s remarks, as he lambasted Congress and flat out refused any negotiation on the debt ceiling issue. There were no words of gratitude to the American people, or any sense that his administration was there to serve the country, as opposed to lording over it. There was no attempt to reach out to the nearly 60 million Americans who didn’t vote for Obama in November, or the 30 Republican Governors who represent a huge swathe of the nation outside of the East and West coasts.

With a straight face, Mr. Obama demanded that legislators pay for his administration’s bloated spending, warning that the United States must not be a “deadbeat nation” by failing to pay its bills. As Tim Stanley noted earlier, “Obama says Congress must pay its dinner bill. But he’s the guy who ordered the caviar and champagne.” The president boasted of his “agenda for new jobs, new opportunity, and new security for the middle class,” while conveniently ignoring the fact that 12.2 million Americans are still out of work, the national debt is above $16 trillion, and more than 42 million people depend on food stamps, up 70 percent since 2007.

It was the clearest signal yet from the White House that Obama’s second term in office will be deeply arrogant in tone, dismissive of any criticism, contemptuous of Congress, and averse to political compromise. It will also not be serious at all about cutting the deficit, reducing government spending, or addressing entitlement reform. For, as Levin argues, this is an imperial presidency, one that frequently acts with impunity and lavishly spends taxpayers’ money with abandon while encouraging a growing dependency on the federal government, with a staggering 128 million Americans now on government programmes – 41.3 percent of the population. Today’s defiant White House pres conference does not bode well for Obama’s second term. The president’s first four years were an economic disaster. Expect more of the same, and even worse, in the next four.
Here's more from Mark's radio program this evening. In this first piece, Mark talks about the coming debt ceiling battle and discusses what action should be taken if Obama attempts to circumvent Congress...
"If Obama unilaterally acts, he should be impeached!"

Levin discusses that bit that I mentioned in the previous post: Obama fear mongering over social security payments and veterans benefits if debt ceiling isn't raised. Levin went a step further in regards to the military:
"Obama is about to do more damage to the United States military than any foreign military ever would or could."

Finally, Mark unravels more of Obama's stunningly deceitful newspeak, specifically in this segment, the further exploitation of the Newtown school massacre...

In every instance, Levin demonstrates how this imperial president strives to rule above the Constitution, reaching beyond the legal restraints placed upon the executive branch in an attempt to seize more power; all the while expanding the federal bureaucracy but never cutting the massive spending.

This is the Leviathan. This is the Utopia that's failed time and time again...ending ultimately in tyranny.

ADDENDUM: Jedediah Bila wrote a great piece Tuesday; in part, referencing much of what Levin discussed about Obama's imperial presidency, and in general, sending a wake up call to the GOP leadership: wake up, articulate and fight!
