The Etch-A-Sketch 'conservative'

After an Illinois primary win last night, and a victory speech that Rush described as a "nudge to the Right" producing possibly Mitt's best speech yet "if he means it," which has always been conservatives' biggest concern about the Massachusetts moderate, a top Romney adviser comes out and says this?!

Reset button? Etch-A-Sketch? Sheesh. Ultimate conservatism? Severely conservative? Uh huh...not sounding like it.

It should be noted that the very liberal Think Progress (source above) and the Huffington Post were among the first to pounce on this statement. But it poses just as much of a blemish for the so-called shoe-in from the conservative perspective, and points to exactly why we don't trust him!

As should have been expected, both Santorum & Gingrich responded on the campaign trail...

And yet, no matter how weak the frontrunner is, perhaps the more frustrating part of this is that establishment drones will continue to pull the lever and make excuses why Romney is the most electable, inevitable nominee.

Folks, an Etch-A-Sketch conservative is not a conservative at all...and that's not gonna cut it in the general election.
