Yesterday, during his usual media whoredom, Lindsey questioned if bloggers even deserved First Amendment protection:
“Who is a journalist is a question we need to ask ourselves,” said U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, addressing reporters from the corner of his second-floor office on Hampton and Huger streets. “Is any blogger out there saying anything — do they deserve First Amendment protection? These are the issues of our times.”Kaylin Bugos reports that after a backlash on Twitter, Grahamnesty realized he stepped in it, and reversed course: “Just to be clear, every blogger is entitled to constitutionally-protected Freedom of Speech.”
Then today, in the midst of the NSA bombshell, Lindsey says he's 'glad' the NSA is collecting millions of Americans' phone calls:
“I’m a Verizon customer. I don’t mind Verizon turning over records to the government if the government is going to make sure that they try to match up a known terrorist phone with somebody in the United States. I don’t think you’re talking to the terrorists. I know you’re not. I know I’m not. So we don’t have anything to worry about.”Just trust us, you see.
Besides mentioning other instances of Grahamnesty's RINOlogy, like attacking other Republicans, Bugos also brings up a silver lining for South Carolinians: Lindsey's up for reelection next year!
Graham loves the media spotlight, and often uses it to criticize his Republican colleagues, as he did early this week when he attacked Darrell Issa for calling Jay Carney a paid liar. Such comments have drawn heat from his constituents, and he is expected to face a strong primary fight next year.Gowdy would be a refreshing replacement for McRINO's pal. Just today, Trey gave another reason why while ripping into the IRS...
A few candidates’ names have been brought up repeatedly, the most notable of which is Rep. Trey Gowdy, from South Carolina’s 4th district. Gowdy is well-known for being a conservative bulldog in the House and has highlighted his political skills recently during his grilling of Lois Lerner. In a fight between Gowdy and Graham, Gowdy might be a good bet.
"Mr. Inspector General, in reality, it just strikes me that we just need one single recommendation: Start Over."
Twitchy: Passionate and fierce. Rep. Gowdy (R-S.C.) spoke for all Americans. Rep. Gowdy spoke For the Women in the real way, not the Obama way. Rep. Gowdy cares for the most vulnerable in the real way. Rep. Gowdy delivered a boom-worthy statement blasting the IRS that will be, and should be, remembered for a long time to come. Everyone in America needs to see this indeed.South Carolina, there's one answer, there's a better option.
