RUSH: 'The Republican Party is hanging by a thread'

It's hard for some to hear, but it's the truth of the matter...
"You know, people have said the country's hanging by a thread. Well, so is the party! The Republican Party is hanging by a thread. I don't think they know it. In fact, some actually do know it, and I think this whole notion that they're embarrassed of their base and wouldn't mind at all if the base left the Republican Party, even if it meant losing a couple of elections, I think there's that element in the party."

"The Republicans can't afford any defections because they don't have any people that are gonna make up the slack. Republicans are angering the base, so much so that we might start to see more voters sitting out of upcoming elections; and 2.) Democrats have so successfully assassinated Rubio and Paul that no one will even want to elect them as 'dog catchers' after it's all said and done. On the latter point, I'd just add that you have to be a willing participant before simply pinning that on the Democrats, who are always happy to either co-op their opposition or altogether ruin the political careers of their rivals. Rush elaborates...
