"I want a government that is gonna help me. I want a government that will help me fund my college education... I'm a dollar sign with a heart beat in this nation. This society is mirrored image of Capitol Hill. Do you Senator Rand Paul have a formulated solution to come up with new American values, so that the citizens of this nation have a worth of more than dead presidents and Ben Franklin?"You have to applaud Sen. Paul for attempting to break through this discouraging mentality. It's an unending task indeed, but one that must persist. Otherwise, we're surrendering to one-party, the wrong-party, rule. More Republicans need to wake up to this reality and carry the message forward, as Herman Cain, Allen West, Ben Carson and many others have already stated, it's time to step off the Democrat plantation. And that's an integral part of what's encouraging about Rand Paul's speech to Howard University.

Gov't dependent to Rand Paul: 'I don't want' a government that leaves us alone
Here's the problem with the statist mentality, particularly the manipulation and indoctrination that's occurred over generations in minority communities, when trying to explain the 'leave us alone' governing philosophy. When Rand Paul spoke to Howard University students yesterday, discussing how the history of black repression in this country arose from local, state and federal government-sanctioned racism, and how we can embrace individual liberty to move beyond that, as well as how the party of emancipation, civil liberty and individual freedom (that would be the Republican Party, btw) helped move beyond that and welcomes one and all, he encountered much of this kind of statist Democratic dependency during the Q&A session. One moment in particular stands out when Rand attempts to reason with a student who basically wants more government in his life...
