Thanks, Louie!

Bravo! to Gohmert for at least trying among a timid, defeated GOP evidently beholden to the establishment.

CNSNews: Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) nominated former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) to replace current Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) in a closed-door meeting of House Republicans on Wednesday.

Gohmert reportedly felt it was time to halt "business as usual" in Congress. His nomination of Gingrich did not receive a second and House Republicans voted to retain Boehner as speaker.

The speaker of the House does not have to be a member of Congress, although a non-member has never held the post.

As long as Boehner's in the Speakership, there'll be more capitulation from the GOP leadership.

ADDENDUM: Another thumbs up for Louie...

CNSNews: Rep. Louie Gohmert, a former Texas state judge who serves on the House Judiciary Committee, says the Justice Department needs to name an independent counsel to investigate President Barack Obama and various Executive Branch agencies to find out the truth about what the administration was doing in Benghazi, Libya.
