A man on FIRE for conservatism (VIDEO UPDATE)

Wednesday was a great day for the Great One. Starting out the day with the Heritage Foundation appearance in the morning, and then throughout his radio program Wednesday evening.

Wednesday morning Mark Levin joined Ed Meese for the concluding event in the Preserve the Constitution series. Meese asked a wide array of questions centered around the election and the future of constitutional governance (as well as the lack thereof, which we're experiencing now), and the audience received those candidly anticipated responses that Levin's so well known for...

CNSNews: Speaking at an event at the conservative Heritage Foundation on Wednesday, Mark Levin said conservatism is the key to winning the presidential race.

“Well, first of all, the lesson we’ve learned is from time to time we ought to nominate a conservative,” said Levin, author, radio host and president of Landmark Legal Foundation.

Levin blamed the Republican establishment as the reason conservatives can’t fight Obama and called for a new speaker to replace Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) in the House of Representatives, where the GOP holds the majority.

“It’s time for the old bulls to get out of the way and the fresh faces and the fresh voices who believe in conservatism who believe in liberty and our originalist principles to step up and take them on and speak out, because there is no other way to defeat what’s going on in this country,” Levin said.

“I can’t even tell you today what the Republican Party stands for,” Levin said. “I have no idea. They have no idea.”

Among the many topics covered, Levin also spoke of the problems with Romney's nomination, as well as the efforts of the GOP establishment to thwart conservative candidates throughout this election cycle...but despite those efforts, we still managed to pull out successes with some conservative candidates, including Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Marc Rubio (R-Fla.) and Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Steve King (R-Iowa).

SFGate: “I think the Republican Party is devouring the conservative movement,” said radio host and conservative commentator, Mark Levin on Wednesday.

Since Barack Obama was re-elected last week, high profile members of the Republican Party have called for a new way to communicate. But Levin and other conservatives say that the problem is not poor communication — it’s establishment Republicans.

“It’s time for the old bulls to get out of the way,” Levin said. “I can’t even tell you what the Republican Party stands for.”

Levin’s disdain for the party doesn’t stop with two failed presidential elections. He said Republican politicians are “good at clawing their way to the top” but not at enforcing conservative policies when they get there.

“The three branches aren’t checking and balancing, they’re working with each other,” Levin said. “The moderates and RINOs (Republicans in name only) are trying to clean out the election.”

“[Constitutional conservatives] need to engage otherwise the Republican Party will go the way of the Whig,” Levin said.

Levin said conservatives need to embrace the Tea Party and Libertarian movements as the hope for the future.

Noting disparities between the two parties’ abilities to turn out votes, Levin called the low Republican turnout a failure to communicate about the issues.

When Meese asked how the conservative movement could attract more of the youth vote, Levin said the “very, very difficult, complex problem” lies with the influence of public school and Hollywood on young voters to think “more emotional than cerebral.”

“Kids coming out of puberty – which liberals never do – don’t like authority,” Levin said. “Think of big government that way.”

Levin suggested that an anti-authority attitude could be a “very powerful argument” to engage conservative students.

With every swing, nailing it every time! Then following an interesting day of Rush and Hannity's respective programs, Levin set the airwaves on FIRE once again this week: first hour focused around the Marxist espousals of Obama during his first presser since reelection...

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show: President Obama gives his first press conference since being reelected and it is full of class warfare and more of Obama's propaganda and lies. Mark explains how Obama is a student of Saul Ainsky and is using Alinsky's tactics to divide the country to promote him and his agenda, and Speaker Boehner doesn't understand or isn't willing to combat it. Obama talks about his mandate to fundamentally transform America, even though he received fewer votes this time than last election. What gives him the authority or the power to transform everything about America to what he envisions it should be?

...then Mark moved on in the second hour, where he exposed some of these supposed conservative media outlets who can't seem to get their principles together (see here, here and here); and then in the third hour: Israeli retaliation against Hamas (which reporters conveniently didn't ask Obama about today...go figure.). The entire program was worth checking out...go here to listen!

If you're as busy as I've been lately and find it hard to routinely tune in to anything, strap on those headphones at the end of your work day, or tune into the radio on the drive home, and learn a thing or two from this constitutional scholar. We've got four years to either turn the party around or come up with Plan C (or perhaps I should have said Par'T').
