Israel taking care of business (UPDATE)

Israel knows that as long as the Obama regime is back for another four years, they're essentially on their own. And as such, they won't be able to rely on American diplomacy to keep the jihadists away. So, after a weekend's worth of rockets raining into Israel launched from Hamas terrorists in Gaza, they've decisively stepped up and are taking care of business...

Haaretz: The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday killed the Hamas military chief in Gaza, Ahmed Jabari, in an airstrike. The attack comes after a four-day escalation on the Israel-Gaza border.

Boom!

Jerusalem Post's live blog has kept close tabs on the escalation, reporting that the IDF struck over 20 underground rocket launchers belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in an airstrike.

IDF spokesman Yoav Mordechai said that Gaza is a “forward Iranian base,” adding that the latest campaign of air strikes targeted most of the long-range offensive capabilities in the hands of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Refreshing honesty...our administration should try it. IDF also says ground operations are a possibility. All options are on the table.

FreeBeacon: The Israeli military commenced what government officials are calling a “widespread campaign on terror sites and operatives in the Gaza Strip, chief among them Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets” after suffering nearly a week of rocket attacks on Israeli territory.

Israeli artillery has joined the air force in hitting targets in Gaza and eyewitnesses report that multiple Israeli naval vessels have appeared along the coast of Gaza.

When are they gonna learn? Don't mess with Israel!

UPDATE: A report is out that Hamas is considering using its long-range missiles for attacks on Tel Aviv suburbs, deploying suicide bombers and assassinating Israeli leaders...as WeaselZippers comments so accurately, "Any of these scenarios would almost guarantee an Israeli ground invasion of the Gaza Strip." You know, if Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood are so sympathetic to Hamas terrorists, perhaps Israel should just consider pushing them into Egypt, removing the Strip and reclaiming Israeli land!
