You know, I’ve been trying to figure out most of the afternoon and into the evening what exactly to say about that Obama class-warfare-that-was-supposed-to-be-a-budget-proposal-but-turned-into-a-campaign speech, and…well, these guys pretty much cover it…
That was not a budget proposal speech; it was the same old campaign rhetoric that we heard going into this man’s presidency, which I’d hope by now has awakened more than a few to who our Marxist-in-Chief really is. It's put some, like ol' Joe, in a deeper sleep! There was NO formal proposal presented, just more of the same: tax the ‘rich’ (you know, all those evil quarter-of-a-millionaires), no more deductions for them, including mortgage or charitable, cut military spending (because we need that for more entitlements), and didn’t you know? This country is great because of these entitlement institutions…same ol’, same ol’…Big Government will save us. This man is incapable of understanding the simplicities that Milton Friedman described so well…
The Greatness of America is not defined by how much wealth redistribution is provided. The false notion that entitlement after entitlement after entitlement somehow helps us become a prosperous People isn’t compassionate, and it isn’t exceptional, particularly when government has mismanaged the purse since the inception of all of these programs. And thus, government is not in trouble because of ‘unpaid tax cuts’; the government is in trouble because Washington cannot control its spending, but certainly wants to control everything else.
