Enabling the Democrats

Picking up from my last post, while the Republican leadership appears rudderless in the fog, with apparent memory lapse to boot, Levin asks us to take a look at what they’ve enabled the Democrats to do:
“Two year ago, the same Republican Establishment, the same Republican leadership, told us that we could not win. They had all surrendered the nation to Obama and the Democrats. WE, the conservatives, the constitutionalists, WE the American People, WE breathed life back into the Republican Party. They didn’t breathe it into themselves, I can tell you that! They were wrong then, and they’re wrong now. YOU changed history, not them. So for $38.5 billion or less…Republicans have sold the mantle of fiscal responsibility to Obama and Reid. Obama and Reid see the opportunity now. They are now going to try to co-opt the tea party message.”

Yes, while the beltway blinders continue providing victory cheers for Boehner’s deal, the smart Democrats are plotting. They’re presenting this as a win for the GOP and Boehner as they prepare Obama’s budget to obscure the Ryan plan. And you can guarantee that the demagogued talking points are already prepared for both that battle and the much sooner one over the debt ceiling, while positioning our Deceiver-in-Chief to play the part of 'level-headed negotiator' when he's anything but.

Rush also tips us off to their strategy, which is sure to include the same class envy and rhetoric as it always has…those evil rich!

See, we must recognize that their strategy is not a winning one, but if our leadership falls short of facilitating an effective strategy of its own, then theirs wins by default. As Levin says, “If we lose, we were going to lose anyway. If we lose, we lose our society anyway. And we could actually WIN, but we have to try to win."
