Here's two ESSENTIAL reasons why the so-called GOP leadership, as well as establishment bullies like McCain, cannot be allowed to pretend as if DHS funding is something more than what reality dictates. Nor can they be allowed to continue furthering the lawlessness by ignoring what's on the books...
First, as far back as 2011, we found out that even in a so-called 'shutdown', 80% of DHS is deemed 'essential' and therefore continues working!
ABCNews: Department of Homeland Security: Working But Limited Services Over 80% of the DHS workforce has been deemed to be "essential" personnel for agencies such as TSA, Customs and Border Protection, Secret Service, Coast Guard, FEMA and Immigration Customs Enforcement. The host of employees from intelligence analysts to cyber security officials are also considered "essential" and will continue working.Secondly, did you know that there already exists an extensive list of visas for nearly every letter of the alphabet? So, again, why do we need comprehensive immigration reform? We don't! All we need is ENFORCEMENT!
A-1 Visa:Levin repeated these two facts numerous times throughout last week. Yet, McConnell still refuses to listen in an attempt to splinter the bill in two, while Boehner strategizes his next cave to divert blame.
