Honoring all who serve

To all veterans, past and present: THANK YOU.
O LORD God of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray thee, thine almighty arm to strengthen and protect the soldiers of our country; Support them in the day of battle, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
In our limited capacity to display our pride in their selfless and noble service, we salute our military men and women on this Veteran's Day.

ADDENDUM: I noted those past and present, but perhaps there's something else we should all keep in mind for our future...
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
Our Founding veterans (17 of the 56 signers fought in the American Revolution, as well as our first commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, General George Washington), 'with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence,' mutually pledged to each other their Lives, their Fortunes, and their sacred Honor in that Declaration. Let us also reflect on their service today as we peer out towards this nation's future.

ADDENDUM II: Reagan reminds us all of God's promise to Joshua, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." A promise America should always keep with its veterans.
