The Boehner roadblock to Benghazi

This Benghazi scandal goes all the way to the top. But what you may not realize is that as these hearings progress, there stands one sole Republican who serves as a roadblock to revealing the complete story behind the Benghazi cover-up: Speaker John Boehner.

In early April, 700 retired Military Special Operations professionals sent a letter to the House of Representatives urging members to support H.Res 36, which will create a House Select Committee to investigate last September’s deadly terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA) issued a resolution for a House Select Committee to investigate issues surrounding the Benghazi attack last November in the 112th Congress. He re-issued this resolution for the select committee when the 113th Congress began. At the time, the resolution had over 60 co–sponsors.

Still, only the Speaker can appoint a Select Committee, and Boehner continued to rely on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence to investigate the attack. By late April, John Boehner made it apparent that he would not allow a Select Committee investigation into Benghazi. WTF?!
You read that right. Speaker of the House and RINO extraordinaire John Boehner (R-OH) is denying a select committee probe that would investigate the Benghazi attack, even though there is mounting support in the House for doing just that.

We told you earlier that Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA) put forth a resolution back in January which has gained over 100 supporters in the House of Representatives and that the mother of slain information management officer Sean Smith, Patricia Smith, supports Wolf’s resolution to get to the bottom of the attacks in Benghazi.

However, Boehner defended his position: “The reason I haven’t called for a select committee yet is that I don’t think it’s risen to that level ... The five committees that have jurisdiction over this matter are working closely together ... They’re getting the job done.”
By May 1st, 134 House Republicans — a majority of the Republican caucus — have joined as co-sponsors of Wolf's legislation.
"It is clear that the administration just wants the issue of Benghazi to go away, but I sincerely hope that Congress will not aid this White House cover-up of the mistakes made by high-level members of the administration that cost four brave Americans their lives," Wolf said.

...as of today, the State Department has only named four of the Americans who were in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. These are the four the terrorists succeeded in murdering: Stevens, Information Management Officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

The State Department's surviving heroes of Sept. 11, 2012, remain anonymous.

With the majority of House Republicans co-sponsoring Wolf's legislation for a special committee, the only thing standing between the American people and the real story of Benghazi is a leadership decision from House Speaker John Boehner.

Boehner must impanel this special investigative committee so it can compel the administration to tell the full truth about Benghazi.
This morning, Speaker Boehner tells Obama, 'Now's your chance to cooperate on Benghazi.'
Moments ago, House Speaker John Boehner called upon President Obama to release documents related to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
When taking a look at this transcript, though, you'll notice that there's still no mention of a special investigative committee. When will John Boehner act? Better yet, will John Boehner act to seek the truth?
