Never mind the People: Senate crafts 'use-of-force' resolution for Obama...er, Syria (UPDATE)

Anybody having 'illegal war!' flashbacks yet? Led by then-Senator, now-Hypocrite-in-Chief no less. Not that Dear Leader & Co. care what the commoners think, but two polls released today show significant opposition to Syrian intervention...
PewResearch: President Obama faces an uphill battle in making the case for U.S. military action in Syria. By a 48% to 29% margin, more Americans oppose than support conducting military airstrikes against Syria in response to reports that the Syrian government used chemical weapons.
...and this one from WaPo:

Eh, whatevs...the Senate moved forward this evening in crafting a resolution authorizing military force in Syria...
Politico: A new use-of-force resolution for Syria sets a 60-day deadline, with one 30-day extension possible, for President Barack Obama to launch military strikes against the regime of Syria President Bashar Assad — and it will also bar the involvement of U.S. ground forces in Syria.

But Democrats insisted that Obama should be allowed to do so under limited circumstances, such as special forces operations or to secure stocks of chemical weapons.
You know, they've gotta hurry before folks catch wind that it wasn't Assad. Look, just play some more games on your iPhone, like McCain. It'll all turn out fine, like Libya...oh, wait.

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

UPDATE: Delaying vote...?
Reuters: The Senate Foreign Relations Committee may delay a vote on an authorization for the use of military force in Syria that was expected on Wednesday, aides to committee members said, after some senators said they were unhappy with its wording.
There's more than 'wording' that they should be unhappy with.
