Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is suing to block implementation of the signature policy initiative of the nation's first black chief executive.Alveda is absolutely correct, as any biography of Margaret Sanger will reveal. Dr. Alveda King, the director of African-American outreach for the New Dorp-based Priests for Life, objects to President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act on the grounds that its provision for free contraception compromises civil rights.
"There are racist and eugenic roots to this thinking," Dr. Alveda King, a self-described social activist, said in a Priests for Life news release. "Efforts to control the population always target minority and lower-income groups. We will not sit still and allow this to happen."
