Reuters tells us earlier this morning that Judge Vinson has refused to halt implementation of Obamacare:
“A U.S. judge put on hold his ruling that President Barack Obama's sweeping healthcare law was unconstitutional pending appeal, allowing the White House to continue implementing the reforms aimed at lowering soaring healthcare costs.”
However, ABC later informs us that Vinson has effectively stayed his own ruling, giving the administration seven days to appeal, else all 26 states involved in the lawsuit can stop implementation of Obamacare:
“In a harshly worded opinion, Judge Roger Vinson, the Florida federal judge who struck down the entire health care law in January, gave the Obama administration seven days from today to appeal his ruling with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Vinson issued the 20 page ruling today after the Obama administration had asked him to clarify his original opinion and tell the government whether his ruling was meant to strike down provisions of the law currently in effect.
In the ruling Vinson is critical of Justice Department lawyers for waiting nearly two weeks before filing a “motion to clarify.”
“While I believe that my order was as clear and unambiguous as it could be,” Vinson wrote, “it is possible that the defendants may have perhaps been confused or misunderstood its import.”
He reiterated his finding that the Congress exceeded its authority when it passed the individual mandate and said that because the mandate was unseverable from the rest of the Act the entire legislation was void. He said that his order applied to all parts of the law, including those provisions currently in effect.”
Does anyone buy that this judge is folding to the administration? Absolutely NOT! Heritage helps explain exactly what Judge Vinson said today, where the media is intent on misinterpreting. Appeal the ruling now, or stop implementing Obamacare altogether!
Likewise, with another current story, the Wisconsin situation, Reuters tells us that Wisconsin lawmakers are working on a compromise with Republicans; however, WI local radio informs us that the Senate has approved a resolution setting a deadline of this afternoon for the 14 Democrat senators to return to the Senate chamber or be declared in contempt of the Senate, guilty of disorderly conduct, and be legally detained by law enforcement, with the use of force if need be! Doesn’t sound like ‘compromise’, does it?!
And now Hillary Clinton tells us that Al Jazeera is ‘Real News’: “Al Jazeera has been the leader in that are literally changing people’s minds and attitudes. And like it or hate it, it is really effective,” she said.” Umm, yeah…effective in radicalization! So now bin Laden’s news of choice is also that of Mrs. Clinton’s. Say, isn’t this the same Al Jazeera that would have us believe Israel’s democracy is unraveling? With all the chaos in the Arab world surrounding the Jewish State, who believes that?! Seriously.
The liberal media has become so desperate that it no longer even tries to disguise its motives. At this point, they’re just hopeful that you as a consumer remain stupid and subservient to their subjective view of ‘objective’ reporting. They’re still pretending that the conservative ascendancy didn’t happen in November in hopes that our resolute vigilance will be dampened, if not fully extinguished. They will be proven oh so wrong!
