"Can somebody tell me what there is to cheer about? Can somebody tell me what it is that makes you want to go to your checkbook and write a check? Can somebody tell me? I mean, I can give you some names of people that inspire that, but the party doesn't have that identity. The people who are inspiring that actually are ENEMIES of the Republican Party and the consultant class. Ted Cruz at the top of the list that they're out there trying to impugn and destroy from the get-go, along with the Democrats."
Picking up from our last GOP Senate race discussion, Rush provides the most recent thoughts on the meandering of the Republican Party on whole and the fact that it's difficult to see what they stand for anymore...
"Can somebody tell me what the Republican Party message is? I’m getting panicked e-mails about the polling in state after state where it was thought there was gonna be a wave election.
Republicans were gonna win in a big wave, and yet Republicans running against really at risk incumbent Democrats find themselves trailing by a point or two. Somebody said, “Well, one of the reasons for that, Rush, is that the Democrats have much more money. The Republicans aren’t spending any money.” That’s when I said, “Even if they were spending money, what’s the message?
“Can somebody tell me what the Republican Party stands for when it comes to amnesty? Does the Republican Party talk about job creation? Is the Republican Party talking about economic growth? Are they talking about anything opposite what’s happening here?” I don’t know what they stand for anymore, other than they’re not Obama, they’re not the Democrats. I really don’t know."

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show: Mark talks about how the Establishment has been trying to control the Republican Party and especially conservatives as if we owe something to them. They are the ones that have put us in this situation, putting up candidates that can't win, and shunning any conservative gains we have made.
Listen to his AMAZING monologue starting off tonight's program here.
"It is amazing to me what goes on with the Establishment, the Ruling Class, it really is. Like somehow they control us; like somehow we can turn thing on and turn things off; like somehow they're mature, and they're rational, and they're leaders. They're nothing of the sort. They're disasters! And so are their mouthpieces who pretend to be journalists or commentators or what have you. We have a growing socialist tyranny going on in this country... and we have every right to demand that the opposition party, the Republican Party, the party of Lincoln and Reagan, that it get its act together, that it stand on principle, and that it stand up against what's going on in this country... They seem to think we're all Republican operatives. We're not Republican operatives. We choose voluntarily...to be members of the Republican Party, not members of a country club, not members of a fraternity or sorority, of a political party that has certain principles that we believe in. It is not good enough to settle for a political party that is a wash in big corporate funding and sellouts and cronyism. It's not enough to be a member of a political operation that is simply not the other team, and you do not grow a party that way... You don't win elections that way...you don't build a healthy, vigorous movement. You don't save a republic this way."
'It's not Obama' is not enough. Even if the Republicans were to pull off a landslide victory in the Senate, it's a landslide for what? Certainly not setting America back on the right course.

Rush: "Here’s the commander-in-chief, every day he has a chance, telling everybody it’s a total waste of time, it didn’t mean anything. And don’t worry, it was such a waste of time, I’m not gonna send any of you guys back there.
What are we doing, then, with ISIS? What is the whole point of this? Let me give you the hard numbers in the CBS/New York Times poll. You don’t have to read this story. I’m just gonna give you the hard numbers. Obama approval, disapproval on the issues. Immigration: 30% approve, 60% disapprove. Immigration — say amnesty, say after me, “amnesty” — 30% approval, 60% disapproval. Do you realize how dangerously close we came to the Republicans in Washington signing on to this?
What is Obama known for? When it comes to immigration, what is he known for? Opening the borders, saying come on in, granting amnesty to five or six, 11 million people. Thirty percent approval. I’ll say it again, this issue has never been one that a majority of Americans supported. It was more trickinology, folks. It was a giant trick trying to make everybody think that everybody in this country wanted the 11, 12 million illegals, whatever the number is, to have amnesty. That’s why there is no credit to accrue from doing this. Thirty percent approval, 60% disapproval on immigration.
On terrorism: it’s 41% approval, 50% disapproval. On foreign policy, 34% approval, 58% disapproval. And on the economy, 40% approval, 53% disapproval. These are all all-time lows for Barack Obama in the New York Times/CBS News poll. And then the other question, the other remaining question, is Obama tough enough in dealing with ISIS? Fifty-seven percent say “no.” Outrageous. He’s not a nice guy. That’s another thing. He’s not a nice guy, and he’s not cool, calm. This guy’s a bully in his own right, in his own way, and he’s certainly not cool; he’s cold."
Then what do our geniuses in D.C. do? Play right along with the joker in the White House, buying into the myth of the Syrian 'moderate'...
WaPo: The House on Wednesday approved President Obama’s plan to train and equip moderate Syrian rebels to counter the growing threat of the Islamic State terrorist organization even though lawmakers in both parties remain deeply skeptical about its chances for success.
The Senate is expected to give the plan final approval Thursday.

Oliver North: A General or Admiral needs to stand up and tell Obama this is mission impossible
Levin joined Hannity to lay out the entirety of Obama's foreign policy blunder...
Levin: "So the President doesn't think he needs congressional approval, a declaration of war, what have you, to bomb, but apparently he need congressional approval to arm 5000 whatevers. This is very odd. I just want to point this out, you actually have a revolt going on with the top generals and Obama. ...
Obama does not view this as a military action. He keeps telling us, 'it's not a war, it's not a war.' For him, the truth is it's about politics. It's about containing this issue politically for him, so he can focus on fundamentally transforming America. ...
So the generals and the military see this quite than our very political president, who really doesn't want to defeat this enemy, OR he'd go to Congress, get a declaration of war, unleash hell on these cockroaches, and then get out. Instead, he speaks to our military men and tells them, 'don't worry, no combat boots on the ground.' He has said it a thousand times, so everyone of our enemies in every single language can understand under this so-called Commander-in-Chief, he has no intention of defeating them, period."
Mark and Hannity similarly conclude Rush's sentiment: it's about getting past the polls and the midterms, then getting past the Obama regime and dumping on the next administration.
But another little interesting subject was briefly mentioned when Hannity asked about what all this means for the average American "when these guys get here?"
Levin: "I honestly don't think he gives a damn, as hard as that is to believe. How else do you explain him not securing the southern border? How else do you explain him being on vacation while this whole thing is breaking out? How else do you explain sending 3000 troops to Liberia and other places to fight Ebola, while we don't have 3000 troops at his direction on the border?"
Legitimate questions and concerns, particularly with utterance of the UN's attempt to push thousands of Islamic refugees on America, further exacerbating our illegal influx, along with the distinct possibility that the jihadis may already be here due in part to such lax rule of law these days.
Thus Obama's blunders over there coming home to roost. What a cluster...

Breitbart: Wednesday at the Senate Foreign Relation Committee hearing on U.S. strategy for combating ISIS, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) criticized President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry as "three senators" exercising "terrible judgment" on the U.S. strategy against ISIS.
Kerry got into a heated exchange with Corker who said, "I want to say as I said personally, we have three senators, president, vice president, secretary of state, that are exercising terrible judgment right now. And to say that you're going to do this regardless of what we say, you're not going to ask for buy-in by the United States Senate or House of Representatives on behalf of the American people in a conflict that's going to be multiyear. Some people say a decade. Taking us into another country with a different enemy, is exercising the worst judgment possible."
"I've said this to you as strongly as I can personally, that in essence what you're saying to the chairman right now, saying if Congress wants to play a constructive role, we would welcome that, to me, this is a political game and I'm disappointed that you as secretary of state, being chairman of this committee, espousing the views you have espoused," he added.
I especially appreciate the follow-up questions, "What Arab/Sunni nation is gonna have a ground force in Syria? What Arab/Sunni country is gonna be flying in and bombing and doing missile raids with an Arab insignia on the side of the plane? Tell me that."
Cutting through Kerry's double speak, filibustering and refusal to lay out a plan before this committee or within a classified setting, I can answer that: None, because there is no strong coalition and there is no sound plan.

My, how things can shift. Or as suspected, they never really did. How could this be, when Democrats, including their president, are on such a destructive path? And hasn't the media been spelling doom for Democrats? Might I suggest a couple of things in the form of questions themselves? First, what makes anyone think that the liberal media would willingly give Republicans positive airtime, if not to simply instill false hope? But even if it were accurate reporting of results, they'd still skew favor towards the Democrats, because they are Democrats! Secondly, and more importantly, could it be that Republicans aren't giving Americans much of an alternative to be inspired by? Just look at the way the establishment of the party has behaved during the primary season. This should put the theory to rest that we have to go with the incumbent class to win...but it won't. If they manage to squeak out a slim majority, they'll take all the glory for it. But when they don't regain the Senate (and possibly teeter on the House), they'll continue to point the finger of blame at tea party conservatives, while the other three point back at the real culprits...
HotAir: It was only weeks ago that Republicans appeared likely to win control of the U.S. Senate in November. As pollsters began to shift over to likely voter models after Labor Day, their findings were not surprising; Republicans were much more enthusiastic about heading to the polls in November, and the generic congressional ballot began to show the public favored the GOP over Democrats by wide margins.
The state-level polling, however, is telling a different story. As more surveys of key battleground races are taken, election forecasters are revising their predictions. Probability models from a variety of respected analysts are now indicating that the race for control of the Senate is, at best, a tossup. Some are even leaning toward the notion that Democrats will retain control of the chamber.
Likewise, as Mark Levin exclaims, "It would be a damn shame if the first female president in American history is Hillary Clinton." It certainly would be, but again, what effective alternative is the Republican establishment presenting? Romney again? Another Bush? Inconsistent faux conservatives from Rubio to Rand? There are some genuine conservative leaders out there...but the Republican Party is too damn scared to embrace consistent principles that might return America to a constitutional rule of law (i.e., smaller government in our lives, while actually safeguarding American sovereignty).
But before we even get to 2016, has the GOP snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in the upcoming November midterms? If so, they'll have no one to blame but themselves. Conservatives have tried to reform the party and continue to be rejected for it.

UPDATE: In a heated midterm contests, WaPo reports that GOP candidates are exploring a move to the middle...'cause that's worked so well since '08, NOT!
In a midterm election year in which the political climate and map of battleground states clearly favors Republicans, many GOP candidates are nevertheless embracing some Democratic priorities in an effort to win over skeptical voters.
The shift is evident in some of the most contentious Senate and gubernatorial races — in traditional swing states as well as decidedly conservative ones such as Alaska and Arkansas — where Republican nominees have endorsed increases to the minimum wage, legalizing medical marijuana or granting in-state college tuition to some illegal immigrants.
Even on social issues, an area where the GOP traditionally has hewed to the wishes of its evangelical Christian base, many Senate hopefuls have backed same-sex marriage or over-the-counter access to birth-control pills.
Buoyed by President Obama’s deep unpopularity, the Republican Party is positioned to reclaim a national governing majority for the first time in nearly a decade by winning control of the Senate. But Republicans have little margin for error, and most key races remain tossups.
That can't have anything to do with not providing an articulate, principled alternative? Naaa...they need to continue listening to the consultant class and practicing compassion conservatism that gives the win to Democrats every time. Oh, wait...
If Obama won't send troops to root out ISIL and finish off an actual, physical enemy (which I'm not advocating; rather, we should bomb them to HELL!), then why is he sending troops, not medical professionals, but troops, into Africa to 'fight' Ebola? Talk about a vacuum...
AP: President Barack Obama declared Tuesday that the Ebola epidemic in West Africa could threaten security around the world, and he ordered 3,000 U.S. military personnel to the region in emergency aid muscle for a crisis spiraling out of control.
The question was whether the aid would be enough and was coming in time. An ominous World Health Organization forecast said that with so many people now spreading the virus, the number of Ebola cases could start doubling every three weeks.
"If the outbreak is not stopped now, we could be looking at hundreds of thousands of people affected, with profound economic, political and security implications for all of us," Obama said Tuesday after briefings in Atlanta at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Emory University.
If so many people are now spreading the virus, doesn't that put our soldiers at risk? Or is that the point, Mr. President?
NYDailyNews: Calling Ebola a “global threat,” President Obama on Tuesday ordered 3,000 military personnel into the epicenter of the outbreak in West Africa but said the chances of it spreading to the U.S. were “extremely low.”
He announced that the U.S. will help the governments and health care systems in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea by training thousands of health care workers and building treatment centers.
Mr. Humanitarian knows all.

CFP: Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has announced that 1,600 troops “military advisers” are being deployed to Iraq, where they will “increase support” for those fighting ISIS. They’re not there to fight, mind you. “Instead,” Hagel said. “These advisers are supporting Iraqi and Kurdish forces in supporting the government’s plan to stand up Iraqi national guard units” and they will “support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.”
Hagel stressed “American forces will not have a combat mission,” but was also sure to highlight the fact that we’re “we are at war with ISIS, as we are with al-Qaeda.”
Other than being officially recorded, there's nothing new per say to most of us in comparing the media's downplay of Obama’s low approval ratings versus their feverishly, prolific coverage of Bush's, but astounding all the same...
NewsBusters: It’s no secret that television news has long been addicted to public opinion polls; decades ago, all three broadcast networks decided to partner with an influential newspaper (ABC News with the Washington Post; CBS News with the New York Times; and NBC News with the Wall Street Journal) to sponsor their own regular surveys for use in their political coverage.
That’s why it’s so extraordinary that polling news has practically vanished from the Big Three evening newscasts in 2014 as President Obama’s approval ratings have tumbled and the public opposes defining administration policies like ObamaCare. Just last Thursday, for example, Gallup found Obama’s approval rating at a record low of 38 percent, yet none of the three broadcast networks bothered to mention this on their evening or morning newscasts.
Such coverage is in stunning contrast to how those same newscasts relentlessly emphasized polls showing bad news for George W. Bush during the same phase of his presidency. Media Research Center analysts reviewed every reference on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts to public opinion polls from January 1 through August 31, 2014, and from the same time period in 2006. Eight years ago, the networks aired 124 evening news reports which cited public opinion polls about either President Bush’s overall approval rating or his handling of specific policies. In 2014, those same broadcasts produced only nine reports which mentioned public opinion surveys related to President Obama.
In Bush’s case, the networks routinely highlighted his falling approval ratings to illustrate his political weakness, and regularly cited polling data showing public disapproval of policies such as the Iraq war. This year, even as President Obama has suffered his own political meltdown, the networks have spared him from such coverage.
Accuracy in Media editor Roger Aronoff's affirmation to Neil Cavuto yesterday did however speak volumes in expressing that though Republicans are more or less getting out of the way of Obama's implosion, they're doing so because they don't really have a solid, unified position on any of these issues themselves.

WashingtonExaminer: The summer lull in illegal border crossings from Mexico is about to give way to a rush of even more immigrants in a frenzy of fear that Washington is about to shut the door, according to several Hispanic leaders.
In Honduras, for example, U.S. threats coupled with those from local leaders warning about the dangers of crossing the border have instead reenergized children and adults to run fast to America and pay inflated fees to “coyotes” to get them there.
“As I am speaking, hundreds of children are trying to leave Honduras,” said Jose Guadalupe Ruelas, a Honduran leader who advocates for children. “When people in Honduras hear that the U.S. is going to get stricter with immigration rules and laws then people think to themselves, ‘Now is the time for me to go,’” he said through an interpreter.
Ruelas and several other Hispanic leaders met in Washington on Tuesday after spending a week in Latin nations responsible for sending over 50,000 children across the U.S. border this year. Officials expect another 145,000 next year.
Expect? Then prepare deterrents now and be ready to turn them right back around, instead of accepting them with open arms, freebies and de facto amnesty, while treating the citizenry as second-class.
No wonder militia members are heading to the border...yet, once again, the media's more concerned with their presence than the nation being overrun by noncitizens. Upside-down, folks.

TheRightScoop not only captured Levin's excellent Friday evening monologue, obliterating Obama's pathetic speech on ISIS, but also encapsulated the sentiment of at least this conservative's feelings about it...likely many more, if not most...
I’m tired of hearing Republican after Republican say Obama’s speech was good. Here’s the best analysis I’ve heard so far on Obama’s speech and it’s from the Great One. And he explains why it’s both incoherent and pathetic.
And the conflicting statements coming out of the Obama Administration are equally incoherent. John Kerry says we're not at war with ISIS, rather "it's a major counter-terrorism operation that will have many different moving parts." Meanwhile, WH spokesman Josh Earnest says we ARE at war with ISIS. Levin says if the Administration can't even define what's going on, how are they supposed to fight it?
Furthermore, if it were not for the Republican Establishment nominating such weak candidates, we might not even be dealing with such a pathetic president. Mark says McRINO and Mittens were so weak, it's almost as if the Democrats chose the candidates, knowing Obama could beat'em. Add that to the tally of Republican surrenders -- giving away the power of the purse, the impeachment process, and now their war-making powers -- all for their Democratic president. Feckless.

TheHill: The public thinks Republicans will do a better job keeping the U.S. safe by a wider margin than at any time since 2002, according to a Gallup poll.
The poll finds that 55 percent of adults think Republicans will do a better job protecting the country from terrorism and military threats, while 32 percent think Democrats will.
The poll comes as fears of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria have dominated the news, despite statements from U.S. officials that the group is not currently known to be plotting attacks on the U.S. It was conducted Sept. 4-7, before President Obama's speech on Wednesday night laying out a strategy to defeat ISIS.
But let's be honest, too many Repubs are still dead wrong on the border, as well as questionable motives in who and where to arm (McCain & Rubio come to mind on both).
This seesawing of the American electorate must find equilibrium and come to realize that both governing parties and all branches of governance are critically broken at this juncture. Then once we come to terms with that, perhaps we might one day be able to reassemble our civil society and reconstitute the rule of law, keeping Americans safe within the maxim of our inalienable liberty, fought for by our Founders, bestowed on us by our Framers.
