Levin remains cautiously optimistic

Looking at the bigger picture of this November's crucial election, Levin remains cautiously optimistic in addressing last night's debate, staying focused and steady, and helping to win back the Senate.

On Romney's 'hands down' debate win:

I don't agree with all that Romney said, but he was in control, moved easily through the issues, scored a number of points, and was unruffled throughout.

Obama was predictable, became increasingly irritated, and by the end of the debate looked tired and defeated.

On not jumping the gun, but remaining focused in the month to come:

As I said five days ago and many times before, stay focused and steady. Take another listen.

Please ignore the media, most pundits and, yes, most hosts who will simply drive you crazy. Just as this race wasn't lost five days ago, it hasn't been won today. The election is in 33 days. Register and vote. And help five others to do the same. This is all about turnout.

And finally, on the crucial need to regain the Senate:

Guess what...

We cannot repeal Obamacare if we don't win the Senate. We cannot cut taxes and spending if we don't win the Senate. We cannot cut the debt if we don't win the Senate.

We are behind in Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and Missouri. It's razor thin in Indiana.

These candidates need our help ASAP.

Let me make this easier for you:

George Allen (VA)
Josh Mandel (OH)
Connie Mack (FL)
Todd Akin (MO)
Richard Mourdock (IN)

Guys, there's no reason to get these wrong, but every reason all across America to get'em RIGHT!

ADDENDUM: During Levin's monologue this evening, he clarified that Romney did a superb job in last night's debate, agreeing with many who've said this was the best debate since the Reagan era. His primary problem was that he felt Romney got somewhat sucked into Obama's class warfare narrative when continuing to discuss lowering taxes on some, instead of supporting across-the-board rate cuts.
