'No' to the military vote, but 'Yes' to illegal alien voter fraud?

Levin covered an array of topics last night, but one that really stuck in my crawl was the hour long segment in which he discussed how on the one hand, the Obama administration is attempting to suppress the vote of our brave and honorable active military members; while on the other, he's seemingingly paving the way for illegals to commit voter fraud with his immigration policies. All in preparation for his upcoming reelection bid. Disgraceful.

TheFoundry: Keeping the Military from Voting in Ohio

Numerous military veterans groups have expressed consternation over a recent lawsuit filed by Obama for America as well as the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party against the Ohio Secretary of State over early voting in Ohio. They are right to be concerned.

The lawsuit is over a series of election bills passed by the state legislature that imposed a deadline for early voting for most voters of the Friday before election day. This makes perfect sense, because it allows election officials time to update their records of who has voted to ensure no one who voted early is able to vote again on election day.

However, Ohio still allows the relatively small number of voters qualified under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) to vote early through the end of the day before the election. The essence of the Obama campaign’s complaint is that providing any extra time to such a special class of voters is “arbitrary and capricious” and therefore a violation of the Equal Protection Clause. The lawsuit demands that all other voters be given the same extension.

Contrary to the claims of the Obama campaign, there is nothing wrong with giving military voters extra time to vote. ...men and women in our armed forces have unique obstacles to exercising their franchise that are in place because of the exigencies of military service. It is neither arbitrary nor capricious to ameliorate those government-imposed obstacles. This is particularly true when one looks at the shockingly low participation rates of military voters, which is currently as severe as any in our nation’s history, including the low participation rate that led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to strike down barriers to voting for black Americans.

In 2008, when election turnout was the highest since the 1964 election at almost 62 percent, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission reported that only 5.5 percent of the eligible military and overseas voters under UOCAVA cast ballots that were counted. This compares unfavorably to historically low voter participation rates.

The Obama campaign is not just wrong on policy here—it is also wrong on the law. The courts have already held that it is not a violation of the Equal Protection Clause for states to treat UOCAVA voters differently than other voters.

Axeldouche is out there defending the Democrat lawsuit (surprise, surprise)...while Mitt Romney on Saturday called the Obama lawsuit an "outrage."

BTW, this supression isn't just happening in Ohio, that's just the latest...these kind of instances are occurring nationwide.

TheDailyCaller: Obama immigration policy opens work permit door to ID thieves, jailed illegals, uninsured drivers

The White House immigration policy would not prevent illegal aliens who have committed identity theft or have been driving cars without licenses from obtaining work permits, an administration official told reporters during a press conference on Friday.

It will also be extended to some illegals already in jail and to some who have already been approved for deportation by judges, he said.

TheDailyCaller: Federal government’s open-door immigration policy on welfare under fire

The federal government allows immigrants to enjoy America’s vast welfare safety net, from food stamps to housing benefits and Medicaid, and remain immune from repercussions to their immigration status. And on Monday, ranking Republican members of the Senate Finance, Agriculture, Budget, and Judiciary Committees wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton demanding to know why.

Immigration regulations prohibit individuals “likely to become primarily dependent on the government for subsistence” from legal admittance into the United States. But non-citizens can avail themselves of dozens of welfare programs without the federal government considering them a dependency risk.

PJTatler: Judiciary Chairman: New DREAM Rules Put Illegal Immigrants at Front of Line

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee criticized the new guidance released [Saturday] by the Department of Homeland Security on processing illegal-immigrant students as giving them an unfair advantage over legal immigrants.

The rules clarify how applications for deferred immigration status will be processed when the application period opens Aug. 15. Individuals will be able to request deferred action consideration by submitting a request to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) along with the standard $380 fee to process an employment authorization application and the $85 fee that is charged to all immigrants to cover the cost of the biometric check.

And how this next one contributes to our society in any productive way, even politically, is beyond me...

TheWashingtonTimes: Report cites killings blamed on non-deported illegals

The Obama administration released illegal immigrants who went on to commit more crimes, including charges of 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, the House Judiciary Committee said in a report Tuesday.

All told, 16 percent of the nearly 47,000 illegal immigrants the administration was notified of but declined to deport between 2008 and 2011 under its Secure Communities program have gone on to be charged with other crimes, the committee said.

So, adding all of these things together, a few questions come to mind. Why would Obama want to suppress the military vote? Well, because the majority still generally vote Republican, that's why. And why would you continuously support illegal immigration and the importation of more and more poverty? That one's not so hard to answer either...because of the despotic environment that many illegals are coming from, they're easier to manipulate, particularly with governmental handouts that they aren't receiving in their own homelands. This is one of the oldest Democrat tactics used on the poor...they figure it'll work again with illegals. Obama's executive orders will skirt the law to enable its execution.

Either way, both actions are a despicable betrayal of not only the Office, but more importantly, our Country.
