Will Romney add insult to injury?

Please let this be a joke...'cause it's not a very funny one.

So...I thought Mr. Bain Capital was the only one who could defeat the One? Wasn't that the essence of what folks like Matt Drudge were insisting upon by feeding the frenzy of attacks on all the other campaigns during the primary season? So now, after conservatives have to endure not having a tried-and-true conservative as a presidential candidate, but nonetheless defeating Obama with the hand we've been dealt, we're flummoxed (Levin's word) to have to hear that insult might be added to injury with a mainstream, establishment Bushie for Romney's running mate?! Even John McCain wasn't this stupid! And who else to deliver this news...

DrudgeReport: Late Thursday evening, Mitt Romney's presidential campaign launched a new fundraising drive, 'Meet The VP' -- just as Romney himself has narrowed the field of candidates to a handful, sources reveal.

And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!

The timing of the announcement is now set for 'coming weeks'.

Tell me, does the Republican Party actually want to win the presidential race against our current Marxist-in-chief, or are we just trying to revive the good and the bad of the Bush legacy? This pick would be a disaster for our chances at the presidency. Nothing personal towards Condi, but race & gender pandering aren't gonna win in November.

Note to Romney: Principle just might, though, so...PICK A CONSERVATIVE, DAMMIT!! There's PLENTY out there to choose from!

ADDENDUM I: ABSOLUTELY agree 100% with Levin!

ADDENDUM II: Here's a link to that supposed electrifying speech that dazzled the Romney confab...

BuzzFeed: Rice's forceful and surprisingly partisan 13-minute address — audio of which has been obtained by BuzzFeed — won her two standing ovations from the gathering of big-money donors and GOP elite. It was widely considered the highlight of the weekend, several people present told BuzzFeed.

Connect the dots with the bolded text, folks. Just in time, huh? It's the associations with the last establishment Republican administration that helped usher in our current little dictator that concerns me, as well as walking the bi-line on important social issues...neither of which stand out as solidly conservative.
