GatewayPundit: In his book, “Dreams of My Father,” Barack Obama argued that illegal immigration hurts ‘blue collar Americans.’ The Daily Caller reported:

“[T]here’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern border—a sense that what’s happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before. Not all these fears are irrational. The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century. If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole—especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan—it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

If these feel like the words of one of Obama’s opponents, it’s because they’re the exact argument the president’s critics have been making as he now rushes to announce a sweeping executive order that would give work permits to millions of illegal immigrants in the country.

In the passage, Obama also reveals that he personally feels “patriotic resentment” when he sees Mexican flags at immigration rallies.

Mark Levin opened his show this evening pleading his guts out with Republicans to use their constitutional power of the purse to stop this tyrannical president from legislating an unconstitutional executive amnesty, thus bypassing Congress...and they should take credit for it! Levin laid out the case for why Republicans must stop this president, even if it means shutting down the government, and they shouldn't fear it, but OWN IT!

Gruber has been bragging about them! Obama has talked about Gruber being in meetings. Someone who "never worked on our staff, expressed an opinion I completely disagree with." He was not just a member of the staff, he was paid 400 grand alone just for this! We have done the numbers, by the way. Gruber has made almost $6 million in government contracts advising them on various things. ...

Gruber and Obama are the same person, the same guy, the same outlook. That's why Gruber is hired. That's why Gruber is there. And this is the Limbaugh Theorem, folks! This is it right front and center. Obama gets confronted with it and says, "No, I didn't know about this. I'm as mad as you are! I'm livid about this. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this, some advisor running at the mouth." It just confirms how stupid he thinks you are. Didn't we just sweep these guys in to stop Obama's reckless policies? Apparently, they aren't getting the message. Anybody still wondering why we need an Article V convention of the states?!

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show: By refusing to protect the power of the purse, one of the few Congressional powers left besides impeachment, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are essentially handing over the Congress to President Obama. Obama has done more than any other President to destroy the power of Congress, and the Republican leadership is going along with it.

By not giving an Obamacare repeal bill to the President, and having him shut down the government, the Republicans are useless. The President doesn't have the authority to do what he wants to do - be it with Obamacare, or with his upcoming Executive amnesty that he will be pushing. Didn't our politicians swear to uphold the Constitution, and why aren't they?

2016 is going to be a harder election battle for Republicans, which is why it's important to have a coherent strategy for how they are going to fight the Democrats. What does the Republican Party even stand for if they won't stand for us?

Excellent questions. Swearing an oath for power alone doesn't cut it. Those that lead the party stand for nothing if they can't defend the citizenry or the country that returned them to power.

On Friday's Mark Levin Show: Mark goes thru past government shutdowns, how many of them came under Democrat Presidents and Democrat Senates, why they came about and what the solution for them was. Mark does this to show that when Mitch McConnell or Cory Gardner says that if we shut the government down the economy will default, they are deliberately lying to us. We are facing a President who has eviscerated the Constitution, taking away more power from Congress than any other past President, and yet the Congress isn't doing anything about it. They are willing to surrender the power of the purse, essentially allowing the Executive to have free reign over the country. Mark asks what will McConnell or others do to stop the President's increasing tyranny? Mark also reads from Article 1 to show just what powers the Congress has and reminds them that they took an oath to uphold the Constitution.

FreeBeacon: President Obama irked Republicans and his past self this week by telling CBS he would bypass Congress and use executive action on illegal immigration, potentially ordering a 10-point amnesty plan as early as next week.

CNN reported that the move would likely include an expansion of deferred deportation for undocumented children to their families, and Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Obama is “nearing a final decision” on what to do. Speaker John Boehner’s (R., Ohio) office called the potential actions “executive amnesty.”

Obama could look back on statements from his first campaign and first term about what he can and can’t do as head of the Executive Branch.

He claims not to be a dictator, but his actions reveal quite the contrary.

Levin emphasizes how the States through Article V can provide our one true recourse

Just consider the current state of our nation. Now consider our one true recourse...

On Wednesday’s Mark Levin Show: No longer are we the Republic established by the Constitution. There is a dangerous lawlessness in this country and lack of ability of a Congress to check it. The only solution is Article V and what we can do at a State level.

Here's an abbreviated version to review from Chapter 1: The Liberty Amendments:

The nation has entered an age of post-constitutional soft tyranny. ...

Social engineering and central planning are imposed without end...

Today, Congress operates not as the Framers intended, but in the shadows, where it dreams up its most notorious and oppressive laws...

Congress also, and often, delegates unconstitutionally lawmaking power to a gigantic yet ever-growing administrative state that, in turn, unleashes on society myriad regulations and rules...

Not to be outdone, the current occupant of the Oval Office sees his primary duty as "fundamentally transforming the United States of America." ... The metamorphosis of the executive branch into an immense institution exercising a conglomeration of powers, including lawmaking and decreeing, is clearly without constitutional origin, a quaint notion mostly derided these days.

Having delegated broad lawmaking power to executive branch departments and agencies of its own creation, contravening the separation-of-powers doctrine, Congress now watches as the president inflates the congressional delegations even further and proclaims repeatedly the authority to rule by executive fiat in defiance of, or over the top of, the same Congress that sanctioned a domineering executive branch in the first place. Notwithstanding Congress's delinquency, but because of it, an unquenched President Obama, in a hurry to expedite a societal makeover, has repeatedly admonished Congress that "[i]f [it] won't act soon to protect future generations, I will!" -- that is, if Congress will not genuflect to his demands, and pass laws to his liking, he will act on his own.

And the president has made good on his refrain. On a growing list of matters, he has, in fact, displayed an impressive aptitude for imperial rule. ...

Today this is glorified and glamorized as compassionate progressivism. The Framers called it despotism. ...

The third branch of the federal triarchy, the judiciary, is no better. Among the biggest myths is that the men and women of the judiciary, operating under monklike conditions, would dutifully and faithfully focus their undivided mental faculties toward preserving the Constitution. ...

It turns out that justices are also God's children; and being of this world, their makeup consists of actual flesh and blood. They are no more noble or virtuous than the rest of us, and in some cases less so, as they suffer from the usual human imperfections and frailties. And the Court's history proves it. ...

What was to be a relatively innocuous federal government, operating from a defined enumeration of specific grants of power, has become an ever-present and unaccountable force. It is the nation's largest creditor, debtor, lender, employer, consumer, contractor, grantor, property owner, tenant, insurer, health-care provider, and pension guarantor. Moreover, with aggrandized police powers, what it does not control directly it bans or mandates by regulation. ...

The illimitable regulatory activity, with which the federal government torments, harasses, and coerces the individual's private and economic behavior, is the progeny of a colossal federal edifice with inexhaustible energy for societal manipulation and change. In order to satisfy its gluttonous appetite for programmatic schemes, the federal government not only hurriedly digest the Treasury's annual revenue, funded with confiscatory taxes on a diminishing number of productive citizens, but desserts on the wealth not yet created by generations not yet born with unconstrained indebtedness. And what havoc has this wrought. ...

There is not enough money on the planet to make good on the federal government's financial obligations. Hence, the Federal Reserve Board has swung into action with multiple versions of "quantitative easing," which is nothing more than the federal government monetizing its own debt -- or buying its own debt -- with a combination of borrowing, issuing itself credit, and printing money amounting to trillions of dollars. Of course, this has the eventual effect of devaluing the currency, fueling significant inflation or deflation, and destabilizing the economy at some future point.

But like the laws of physics, there is no escaping the laws of economics. As these fiscal and monetary malpractices escalate, for there is no end in sight, the federal government will turn increasingly reckless and demanding, taking an even harder line against the individual's accumulation of wealth and retention of private property. ...

What, then, is the answer? ...

It is asking too much of today's governing masterminds and their fanatical adherents to reform the product of their own fatuity -- that is, the continuing disassembly of the Constitution and society. After all, despite one credible source after another, both within and outside the federal government, ringing alarm bells about the nation's hazardous track -- describing it as unsustainable, desperate, and immoral -- they are blinded to reason, experience, and knowledge by their political DNA and ideological invincibility and therefore are intransigent to effective ameliorative steps. They long ago renounced by word and action their adherence to the Constitution's confinements since the Statists' utopia and the Framers' Constitution cannot coexist.

However, it is not asking too much of "a great people [to] turn a calm and scrutinizing eye upon itself: and rally to their own salvation. It is time to return to self-government, where the people are sovereign and not subjects and can reclaim some control over their future rather than accept as inevitable a dismal fate. Unlike the radicalism of the governing masterminds, who self-servingly oversee a century-old, perpetual counterrevolution against the American dawn, the people must have as their goal the reestablishment of the founding principles and the restoration of constitutional republicanism, thereby nurturing the individual and preserving the civil society. This requires, first, an acknowledgment of the federal government's unmooring from its constitutional foundation; second, an acceptance that the condition is urgent and, if untreated, will ultimately be the death knell of the American Republic; third, the wisdom to rebalance the government in a way that is without novelty and true to the Framers' original purpose; and, fourth, the courage to confront -- intellectually and politically -- the Statists' stubborn grip on power.

There is a path forward but it requires an enlightened look back at our founding. And what we find is that the Framers rightly insisted on preserving the prominent governing role of the state legislatures as a crucial mechanism to containing the power of the proposed new federal government. In fact, other than the limited, specified powers granted to the federal government, the states retained for themselves plenary governing authority. ...

Unlike the modern Statist, who defies, ignores, or rewrites the Constitution for the purpose of evasion, I propose that we, the people, take a closer look at the Constitution for our preservation. The Constitution itself provides the means for restoring self-government and averting societal catastrophe (or, in the case of societal collapse, resurrecting the civil society) in Article V.

And it's the second process in which Levin has devoted an entire book revealing this very real possibility and duty:

Article V: The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress...

Importantly, in neither case does the Article V amendment process provide for a constitutional convention. It provides for two methods of amending the Constitution. The first method, where two-thirds of Congress passes a proposed amendment and then forwards it to the state legislatures for possible ratification by three-fourths of the states, has occurred on twenty-seven occasions. The second method, involving the direct application of tow-thirds of the state legislatures for a Convention for proposing Amendments, which would thereafter also require a three-fourths ratification vote by the states, has been tried in the past but without success. Today it sits dormant.

The fact is that Article V expressly grants state legislatures significant authority to rebalance the constitutional structure for the purpose of restoring our founding principles should the federal government shed its limitations, abandon its original purpose, and grow too powerful, as many delegates in Philadelphia and the state conventions had worried it might. ...

I was originally skeptical of amending the Constitution by the state convention process. I fretted it could turn into a runaway caucus. As an ardent defender of the Constitution who revers the brilliance of the Framers, I assumed this would play disastrously into the hands of the Statists. However, today I am a confident and enthusiastic advocate for the process. The text of Article V makes clear that there is a serious check in place. Whether the product of Congress or a convention, a proposed amendment has no effect at all unless "ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States or by Conventions in three fourths thereof...." This should extinguish anxiety that the state convention process could hijack the Constitution.

As opposed to a Federal Leviathan (all three branches) that's ransacked the Constitution?! Why else would the Framers 'craft, adopt, and endorse the language?'

With a historic wave of Republicans swept into state legislatures across the nation last week, it's high time the People who elected them DEMAND corrective recourse!

Obama to announce 10-point amnesty plan via executive fiat as early as next week!

Even before a new year, before a Republican majority is sworn in to preside over both houses of Congress, a defiant president scoffs at Americans to prove to them that he didn't learn a damn thing from their wake up call last Tuesday. Instead, he will defy their will and continue down his lawless path.

President Obama just announced Wednesday evening that next week he will introduce a new 10-point plan for 'overhauling' our immigration policies by granting amnesty, à la executive fiat.

Mitch and the gang need to deal with this NOW...

FoxNews: President Obama is planning to unveil a 10-part plan for overhauling U.S. immigration policy via executive action -- including suspending deportations for millions -- as early as next Friday, a source close to the White House told Fox News.

The president's plans were contained in a draft proposal from a U.S. government agency. The source said the plan could be announced as early as Nov. 21, though the date might slip a few days pending final White House approval.

Obama was briefed at the White House by Homeland Security officials before leaving on his Asia-Pacific trip last week, Fox News has learned.

Sound like homeland security to you? Not while a rogue, imperial president attempts to strip apart the American identity and sovereignty with the support of lame-duck Democrats on the way out.

The plan contains 10 initiatives than span everything from boosting border security to improving pay for immigration officers.

But the most controversial pertain to the millions who could get a deportation reprieve under what is known as “deferred action.”

The plan calls for expanding deferred action for illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children — but also for the parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.

The latter could allow upwards of 4.5 million illegal immigrant adults with U.S.-born children to stay, according to estimates.

Last ditch effort to fool Republicans one more time. I'm sure the Chamber of Commerce will be right beside Obama twisting arms and threatening, excuse me, lobbying Republicans.

Levin was spot on when discussing the deceit of Obamacare passage he said, "They should thank God every single day that we are a peaceful, law abiding people, because this is what revolutions are made of...This is what sparks rebellions." And this next step further into governmental tyranny that Obama toys with is no exception.

How Ted Cruz turned out to be the big winner...and how so many Republicans got the shutdown wrong

In lieu of McConnell's less-than-24-hour surrender last Wednesday, Jeffrey Lord recently sought the opportunity to set the soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader and his nasty band of Establishment Republicans straight on one thing: Ted Cruz was right all along, and they were dead wrong!

Cruz dared to draw a bright line between the two parties so that Americans would once again understand the philosophical divide between them, instead of the mush that was blurring into one party rule. And for that, he was ostracized by the naysayers on the supposed right, who were convinced there'd be no benefit or reward for acting like Republicans again. Oh how wrong they were...

AmericanSpectator: As Republicans sit back having now increased their majority in the House and won control of the Senate in a nationwide landslide, let’s go back a year and see just who was totally convinced Ted Cruz was leading the GOP to disaster.

...the list of Republican naysayers. It was bad strategy, some said. It was going to do real damage to the GOP, some said. It was just plain dumb, some said. Here with names and quotes and a big hat tip to Think Progress — the following:

• Sen. John McCain (R-AZ): “In the United States Senate, we will not repeal, or defund, Obamacare. We will not. And to think we can is not rational.” 
• Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ): “I think there’s got to be a solution other than that. And I don’t think that we should be doing that. I don’t think — and I quite frankly, be fair, I don’t think you hear responsible Republican leaders advocating a shutdown of the government.” 
• Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush: “So as we get closer to these deadlines, there needs to be an understanding of that, or politically it’s quite dicey for the Republican Party.” 
• Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: “We’re more effective tactically not to use a shutdown of some kind to pursue the… anti-Obamacare objective. I don’t think that will be as effective.” 
• Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN): The Washington Post reports that Corker compared shutting down the government to a way that buffalo were slaughtered in the Old West: “I know when you get led into a box canyon what that means… Box canyon, here we come.” 
• Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX): “[W]e’re at the point now where we can’t shut down the government. It’s like burning down the house to get rid of the mice or rats… I don’t think very many think that a government shutdown is in the best interests of the economy and will actually accomplish the goal that’s set out.” 
• Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI): “I believe the Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable, and will have a negative impact on the economy of my state… But I don’t extend that to the point that we should shut down the government over it.” 
• Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI): “We have to stay on the right side of public opinion… Shutting down the government puts us on the wrong side. The fight is on the debt limit.” 
• Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK): Asked on MSNBC on Monday if a shutdown was “going to hurt the Republicans,” Cole said, “I do, but more importantly I think it’s going to hurt the American people.” 
• Rep. Peter King (R-NY): “We should not be closing down the government under any circumstances… That doesn’t work, it’s wrong, and, you know, Obamacare passed. We have to try to defund it, we have to try to find ways to repeal it. But the fact is, we shouldn’t be using it as a threat to shut down the government.” 
• Charles Krauthammer: Krauthammer deemed his fellow GOPer’s approach to defunding Obamacare misguided, going so far as to call them the “suicide caucus.” 
• Karl Rove: “It’s an iron law that Republicans get blamed for any government shutdown, no matter who controls the White House or Congress.” 
• George Will: In a piece titled “Shutdown would hand president more excuses,” Will excoriated Republicans for drumming up drama that will win them no victories. “Republicans should vote,” he wrote, “more in sorrow than in anger, to fund the government (at sequester levels, a significant victory) and to increase the debt ceiling. “ 
• David Frum: “All in all, it’s hard to see any positive outcome emerging for Republicans from this confrontation. Yet the party is charging forward anyway…. Even when pressed to do something overwhelmingly likely to end in disaster, as this shutdown looks likely to do for Republicans, the party has no way to stop itself. It stumbles into fights it cannot win, gets mad, and then in its anger lurches into yet another fight that ends in yet another loss.” 
• Nicolle Wallace: A former spokesman for President Bush, Wallace compared the radical wing of the GOP that’s moving toward a shutdown to a two year old trying to run a red light on a scooter. “When Republicans run into the street despite the fact there’s a flashing red light,” she said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, “they’re gonna get hit by the cars and killed.” 
• Doug Holtz-Eakin: Holtz-Eakin says that Republicans have “put themselves in a corner” and that their strategy won’t work. “The public budget debate has been hijacked by a vociferous minority of activist conservatives aligned with a number of outside activist groups led by the likes of Sen. Ted Cruz and former Sen. Jim DeMint,” he wrote in an op-ed against the shutdown approach. 
• Matt Dowd: “Everybody is going to lose when the government shuts down. Nobody is going to think better about either party,” Dowd warned. “Republicans will lose more in the course of this if this continues over time.”

There’s more, of course. But — with no offense to any of those quoted — they all got it wrong. Not just wrong, but Big Time Wrong. A week ago the Republican Party — barely a year away from the government shut down these folks were bewailing in various terms as bad strategy that “will lose more” for Republicans than Democrats — won a blowout election.

Again, the Republicans increased the House GOP majority, as of this writing, to 244 seats, the biggest advantage since the Truman administration. (Note to those who came in late: Harry Truman left office in January of 1953 — 61 years ago.) The GOP recaptured the Senate, with a majority ranging from 52 to 54 seats depending on undecided results. They gained governors in the bluest of blue states of Maryland, Massachusetts, and Illinois. And on went the red tide, washing over state legislatures as well.

What Ted Cruz accomplished last fall was drawing a very bright Reaganesque line that differentiated Republicans from Democrats. Political disaster was uniformly predicted. Instead? The exact opposite happened.

Will Republicans learn anything here?
