Well, looks like the decrepit Tom Donohue let his true intentions slip out...the Chamber of Crony Capitalism apparently will withhold funding for the next Republican presidential candidate if the House doesn't pass amnesty...yes, yes, Daddy Warbucks! More and more, this guy proves to be a Soros in Republican clothing...
WSJ: Tom Donohue, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, predicted that Congress would pass immigration legislation this year and said Republicans shouldn’t bother to field a presidential candidate in 2016 if they don’t.
His comments echo warnings from others, including high-profile Republicans, that the GOP cannot win if it does not improve its showing with the fast-growing Latino electorate, and cannot do that without approving an immigration package. The Senate passed a bipartisan bill last summer but it has languished in the GOP-controlled House ever since.
“If the Republicans don’t do it, they shouldn’t bother to run a candidate in 2016,” Mr. Donohue said at an event Monday on infrastructure issues. “Think about that. Think about who the voters are. I just did that to get everybody’s attention.” (His comments are at about the one hour mark on this C-Span video.)
To be precise, this specific segment of Donohue's babbling is located at 59:20 of the 'Economy and Infrastructure, CEO Panel.'
Sure, he just did that to get everybody's attention. Never mind that the Chamber funds many of these establishment Republicans (that'd be the same ones pushing for Jeb to run, Bloomy and Weepy included). But moreover, how exactly is flooding our population with poor, unskilled foreigners who hold no allegiance to our nation helpful to America, particularly with the vast amount of unemployed citizens? It's not. It's all political desperation, because for these defeatist crony types, it's easier to allow pandering to rule the day than to stand on the Framers' shoulders and take principled action to maintain the rule of law.

Why does this guy fund Republicans when it's apparent that he wants them to act like Democrats? Well, the answer to that is an age-old one: control. But what I was hinting more towards is that as much as this guy is certainly no conservative, it seems a bit of a stretch to even refer to him as a Republican.
Here's a broader explanation as to why I said in the previous post not to expect fellow Republicans from McConnell and McCain to Graham or Cochran to do anything about the lawlessness of the Obama regime...and it's the same reason they're fighting so hard against genuine conservatives throughout this primary season (via Levin)...

“The pattern of lawlessness by this Administration should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology,” said Sen. Cruz. “Rule of law means that we are a nation ruled by laws, not men. No one—and especially not the president—is above the law. For that reason, the U.S. Constitution imposes on every president the express duty to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.’ Rather than honor this duty, President Obama has openly defied it by repeatedly suspending, delaying, and waiving portions of the laws that he is charged to enforce.”
Now, don't expect fellow Senators, from McConnell and McCain to Graham or Cochran, to want to do anything about it. In short, feckless. However, Levin gives us a broader explanation in the next post...

Matt Bevin is not the only conservative being targeted by the RINO establishment and their crony operatives and financiers for having the gall to challenge an entrenched incumbent (albeit, the Senate Minority Leader). While the Kentucky primary is rapidly approaching in just a few weeks, the Mississippi Republican primary on June 3rd has the potential to send an equal amount of shock waves throughout the D.C. establishment in the U.S. Senatorial race between 36-year incumbent Thad Cochran and MS Sen. Chris McDaniel.
Just google 'Chris McDaniel' and you'll undoubtedly discover attacks and slander, one after another, many fed from the GOP establishment to lib media outlets. Breitbart: Six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) told the Associated Press that he won’t debate his primary challenger, state senator Chris McDaniel, because McDaniel is “trying to make me look bad by things he's saying about my performance in the Senate.”
"I don't know what there is to debate," Cochran told the Associated Press in late April in Batesville, MS – a comment first reported by the AP on May 2. "He obviously is going to criticize my record of service. We disagree on some of the issues. And there are probably some things that we can agree on. But he's obviously, you know, trying to make me look bad by things he's saying about my performance in the Senate.”
No, Senator, you're doing that all on your own! So, what's there to debate? Hmm, Cochran's record of debt limit increases, bailouts, tax hikes and pay raises for starters. Secondly, the fact that Cochran’s refusal to debate a Republican primary challenger should make Mississippi voters question whether he can even stand up to Democrats in Washington.
"It is beyond comprehension that a man who claims to serve the people does not think he owes them a debate as he asks for what would be his 7th term in the U.S. Senate,” McDaniel said. “If Thad Cochran won't stand up to try to defend his liberal voting record in a debate with a two-term Mississippi state senator, what makes us think he'll stand up to Harry Reid and Barack Obama?”
He hasn't...and he won't. But you've hopefully figured that out by now.

Well, if this isn't a bombshell! Bret Baier was able to get a bit of new intel on Obama's location when Benghazi went down: he was at his residence, NOT IN THE SITUATION ROOM!
IJReview: In a contentious interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, former NSA spokesperson Tommy Vietor admitted that Barack Obama never even entered the situation room even as the attack continued at the Benghazi consulate.
Ironically, he was trying to defend the president when he made this comments, by criticizing Fox News for airing reports that Obama watched the attack unfold from the Situation Room. Is it any better that he never bothered to check in and see what was going on?
Of course, we also know he attended a fundraiser in Las Vegas the next morning.
Hmm, a celeb-prez who always drives his personal agenda but never wants to attend to America's? And they wonder why there's evermore calls for Obama to be impeached...

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show: Mark talks about what it takes to have a Select Committee or a Special Prosecutor to investigate the Obama Administration and get to the bottom of the Benghazi attacks. What did the President know, where did he go, why did the Administration as we have now found out change the story and blame it on the Muslim video rather than what was really going on? Mark says there needs to be subpoena power that goes right to the Oval Office, and to put the President and his staff under oath and have them tell the American people what they knew or didn't know and if they choose to deny or choose Executive Privilege then fine, but the American people need to see them do it. Mark says that we already know Speaker Boehner won't bring impeachment charges, so we need to go at this legally via a Select Committee.
This morning, looks like that advice was finally heeded by Speaker Boehner...
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is announcing today that he intends for the House to vote to create a new select committee to investigate the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans. He released the following statement:
“Americans learned this week that the Obama Administration is so intent on obstructing the truth about Benghazi that it is even willing to defy subpoenas issued by the standing committees of the People's House. These revelations compel the House to take every possible action to ensure the American people have the truth about the terrorist attack on our consulate that killed four of our countrymen. In light of these new developments, the House will vote to establish a new select committee to investigate the attack, provide the necessary accountability, and ensure justice is finally served.
“The administration's withholding of documents – emails showing greater White House involvement in misleading the American people – is a flagrant violation of trust and undermines the basic principles of oversight upon which our system of government is built. And it forces us to ask the question, what else about Benghazi is the Obama administration still hiding from the American people?
“The House committees that have been investigating this attack have done extraordinary work, using their subpoena power, holding dozens of hearings, and conducting hundreds of interviews. Without this work we would not know much that we do today. But it’s clear that questions remain, and the administration still does not respect the authority of Congress to provide proper oversight. This dismissiveness and evasion requires us to elevate the investigation to a new level. I intend for this select committee to have robust authority, and I will expect it to work quickly to get answers for the American people and the families of the victims.
“Four Americans died at the hands of terrorists nearly 20 months ago, and we are still missing answers, accountability, and justice. It’s time that change.”

TheHill: The Speaker announced his picks to serve under Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on the special committee on Friday, selecting a mix of junior and senior members and adding an additional former federal prosecutor in freshman Rep. Susan Brooks (R-Ind.).
In addition to Brooks and Gowdy, Boehner’s appointees are Reps. Peter Roskam (Ill.), Jim Jordan (Ohio), Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.), Mike Pompeo (Kan.) and Martha Roby (Ala.).
Roskam is the highest-ranking member and serves now as the GOP’s chief deputy whip, while Jordan and Westmoreland are staunch conservatives who have been deeply involved in the Benghazi investigations to date. Pompeo is the only military veteran, while Roby led a probe into the Benghazi attack as a subcommittee chairwoman on the House Armed Services Committee.
They will join Gowdy, who served as a prosecutor for 16 years before his election to Congress in 2010.
“This investigation is about getting answers for the families of the victims and for the American people,” Boehner said in a statement. “These members have each demonstrated a commitment to this goal, and I have confidence that they will lead a serious, fact-based inquiry. As I have expressed to each of them, I expect this committee to carry out an investigation worthy of the American lives lost in Benghazi.”
Peculiar, Chaffetz, who's been fairly vocal on the Benghazi scandal, wasn't selected. I'll go with tRS's reasoning for his absence, "I expect this committee has been put together in such a way to avoid the look of politics..." Hey, at least we dragged Boehner this far!
Naw, say it ain't so...
TheSpectacleBlog: Republicans have the data. Only two-thirds of those Obamacare enrollees who bought insurance through the federal marketplace have paid their first premium.
The report, compiled by Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, discovered that 67 percent of enrollees paid their premiums by tax day.
The data came from 160 insurance companies involved in the Obamacare exchanges. According to the Wall Street Journal, it contradicts claims made by WellPoint Inc. and Aetna Inc., which declared an approximate 90 percent payment turnout. Kathleen Sebelius, liking the way that sounded, decided to agree with them.
But the GOP wasn’t convinced:
"Tired of receiving incomplete pictures of enrollment in the health-care law, we went right to the source and found that the administration's recent declarations of success may be unfounded," said Rep. Fred Upton (R., Mich.), the chairman of the committee. Rep. Henry Waxman of California, the top Democrat on the committee, called the report "inaccurate, irresponsible and out-of-date."
Additionally, the report declared that of those who paid, only 25 percent were within the magic eighteen- to thirty-four-year-old age gap.
It still seems remarkable that the administration will not release official data regarding premiums paid. Their lack of transparency proves they are trying to hide something. If 90 percent really paid, they would be shouting that figure from the rooftops and emailing their documents to every inbox in America. They are very eager for their failed initiative to prove viable, so it’s very unlikely they haven’t been keeping track of payments. Instead, disappointed by reality, they choose to say nothing and hope to keep Republicans wondering.
If the government can record your phone calls and emails, it most certainly can figure out whether or not you paid your Obamacare premium.
Two-thirds of the 8.1 million the government claims enrolled is a meager 5.2 million—sharply under Obama’s target. Likewise, if only 25 percent of those are healthy individuals, the system could collapse on itself.
To conclude: Obamacare still doesn’t work.
But then, you know it was never meant to.

"Now, yesterday the economic growth rate the country reported at one-tenth of 1%, and I made the point that if it weren’t for Obamacare, our growth rate would have been negative. I got some e-mails last night, “Rush, there’s nothing good about Obamacare. Why were you praising Obamacare’s rate of economic growth?” I wasn’t.
I’m glad, actually, I got the questions because I made the assumption that people would know what I was talking about. It’s not good. When government spending becomes more and more of the total economy, that isn’t good, and that’s what this means. The real economy — the actual real economy that does not involve government spending — is shrinking.
The gross domestic product is simply a total of economic activity. The government has always had a percentage of that, usually around 18%. With Obama and then Bush before him, we’re up over 20%, and I think approaching higher. Off the top of my head, it may be getting to 21% of the economy is government. That’s horrible. That’s bad, because government doesn’t have any money until they take it from somebody first, or print it out of whole cloth. So my point was that the real economy is in the toilet."

TheHill: Senate Democrats will schedule a vote this year on a constitutional amendment to reform campaign finance as they face tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads from conservative groups.
The Senate will vote on an amendment sponsored by Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) that would overturn two recent court cases that have given corporations, labor unions and wealthy individuals free rein to spend freely on federal races.
“The Supreme Court is trying to take this country back to the days of the robber barons, allowing dark money to flood our elections. That needs to stop, and it needs to stop now,” said Senate Rules Committee Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who announced the plan.
“The only way to undo the damage the court has done is to pass Senator Udall’s amendment to the Constitution, and Senate Democrats are going to try to do that,” he said.
Schumer said the vote would take place by year’s end and called on Republican colleagues to join Democrats to ensure “the wealthy can’t drown out middle-class voices in our Democracy.”
The amendment has little chance of becoming a part of the Constitution anytime soon because Republicans generally support the high court’s decisions in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission and McCutcheon v. FEC.
Yep, you almost wouldn't know (if we didn't know them so well) that these are the same Democrats that run to the Court whenever they don't get their way by the electorate and hold judicial activism sacred over constitutionality.
I'd like to say this has a snowball's chance, but then you never know what could happen with feckless opposition up against these Regressives. If only Republicans were so adamant in the pursuit of Principle.
