Levin’s smackdown of lawless DACA will melt your radioTheResurgent: In a press conference this morning, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is being rescinded. The unconstitutional Obama executive program has given special protection to illegal aliens in the US, who were brought here as children. These so-called DREAMers, who now average 26 years old in age, have been able to acquire renewable two-year reprieves from deportation, work permits, and Social Security participation under the program, despite their illegal status.
Sessions announced the program is going to be wound down in the coming months. He emphasized the unconstitutionality of the Executive branch’s action under the Obama Administration and its negative effects on the US.
He also expressed the need of Congress to work with the President to enact proper immigration reform.
A similar program from the Obama Administration named DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents) was already enjoined by the courts and then rescinded several months ago by the current administration.
Sessions emphasized his role as Attorney General is to enforce the law, not pick sides in a political debate over DACA.
