"...the distance between those, for lack of a better term, that govern us in Washington and the majority of us out here, they don’t have the slightest idea who we are anymore." ~ RLDoes this sound like Washington's listening AT ALL?!
FreeBeacon: Congress is set to vote on Thursday on what some have called an “unprecedented” right that would allow immigrants easier access to relocate to the United States, according to new legislation offered by a Democratic senator.I have to ask, what 'fierce national debate'? All that's being cast out among the vast liberal press is the Left's narrative of compassion and Muslim sympathy and the overused "contrary to the fundamental principles on which this Nation was founded" tagline, which they've never cared about before when it comes to preserving the traditional values of America. And far too many so-called Republicans are lapping this up, instead of articulating a reasonable, national-security, conservative interest in protecting the nation and its CITIZENRY!
The legislation, which is being offered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.) as an amendment to a larger bill governing nuclear safety, would prohibit the U.S. government from barring any individual from entering the country based on their religion.
The bill comes amid a fierce national debate about immigration to America, particularly for individuals coming from Muslim-majority nations. Critics of the Obama administration’s refugee plan, which would permit up to 10,000 Syrians into the country, maintain that there are not enough oversight measures in place to ensure that immigrants are not linked to terrorists or various terror organizations, such as the Islamic State.
Breitbart: Sen. Jeff Sessions, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, tells Breitbart News Daily about House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan’s and Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell’s plans to force Americans to pay for President Obama’s Syrian refugee resettlement program. How do ya like that? Once again, we'll be footing the bill for whatever the collective elites' heart desires.
“It’s going to be jammed through,” Sessions told host and Breitbart News executive chairman Stephen K. Bannon on Thursday morning on the show, which airs on SiriusXM the Patriot Channel 125. “Members of the Senate are very frustrated. We have no idea what the contested issues are [in a forthcoming omnibus spending bill] and how they’re going to be decided and who’s deciding.”
Sessions continued by noting that Congress is in this position in the first place because Democrats are blocking the appropriations process—but then Republican leadership going along with them by negotiating everything in the forthcoming omnibus spending bill in “secret.”
Levin just suggested that it's time to have a national discussion about all of this, but they simply don't want to talk about the problems of terrorism, nonenforcement of immigration law, non-assimilation/balkanization, our threatened national sovereignty, you name it! Just keep politicizing demographics, allowing American to be pitted against American while the noncitizen is lifted above the citizen's privilege and birthright, clearing the way for fundamental transformation until the country's unrecognizable or indistinguishable from any other in the world.
Just remember, if any of these amendments somehow manage to make it into legislation that ends up on Obama's desk, the sad state of the GOP, particularly its lack of leadership, will be to blame for it, not just Democrats for doing what they do. Now, don't expect any of them to take responsibility for it, but they're all certain to share in the bloodsoaked hands when Americans are harmed or worse because these elected representatives didn't do enough to insure OUR Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.
