Buyer’s remorse: Economist poll finds 71% of Obama supporters 'regret' voting for his reelection

I regret the GOP not having a genuine conservative to rally Americans...

WashingtonExaminer: Over seven in 10 Obama voters, and 55 percent of Democrats, regret voting for President Obama's reelection in 2012, according to a new Economist/YouGov.com poll.

Conducted to test the media hype about a comeback by 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, the new poll found voters still uninspired by Romney, but also deeply dissatisfied with Obama who has so far failed to capitalize on his victory over 15 months ago.

The poll asked those who voted for Obama's reelection a simple question: “Do you regret voting for Barack Obama?”

"This is an anniversary. February 17th is an anniversary. You know what it is? This is the fifth anniversary of Obama’s stimulus. Nobody noticed, did they? Nobody’s out celebrating it. Nobody’s reminding you of it. Nobody is calling your attention to it. Nobody is applauding it. Nobody’s doing stories on how much it mattered. We’re not getting any stories from the media about all the great things that happened as a result of the stimulus. We’re getting a big, fat zero, goose egg. Nothing.

The media are not crowing about it much. I do have an article here from the Wall Street Journal pointing out what you and I all know, that the stimulus did not help lower the unemployment rate as was promised. The only reason the jobless rate’s gone down at all is due to more people leaving the workforce. We’re not creating any jobs. It points out that only 10% of the Obama stimulus went to infrastructure. You know, the building of roads, the repairing of schools, the building of bridges.

All of those wonderful things that were highlighted with the stimulus was what we we’re gonna use this almost $1 trillion for. There is nothing to show for it but added debt. In fact, you could make the case that the stimulus has retarded economic growth and recovery, held it back. You could make the case that the stimulus has led to higher unemployment — and you know why, folks? Because it wasn’t a stimulus."

Caddell: 'The GOP Establishment WANTS the IRS to go after the Tea Party'

Bingo! If today's GOP can use something to the left of them to take out conservatives, you better believe they're on board...

theRightScoop: Pat Caddell said yesterday on Fox News that the reason Republican leadership hasn’t pushed for a high level investigation of the IRS for targeting the Tea Party is because they want the IRS to go after the Tea Party:

"When you have 71 percent who want an investigation, 64 percent who believe it is a sign of corruption including nearly a majority of Democrats, the reason is the establishment Republicans want the IRS to go after the Tea Party. Got it? They want them to go after the Tea Party because the Tea Parties are an outside threat to their power hold. And I’m telling you the lobbying consulting class of the Republican Party or Republican leadership who have been attacking the Tea Party and alienating them, they want the IRS to do this!"

...damn disgraceful.

Levin's not the only one who's ‘sick and tired of defeatist Republicans'

TheBlaze: Conservative radio host Mark Levin says he is “sick and tired of defeatist Republicans,” especially after watching GOP leaders in both the House and Senate fail to even try to attach any conditions or reforms to the debt ceiling increase passed this week.

Appearing on “Your World With Neil Cavuto” on Friday, Levin went off on Republicans for failing to address the nation’s serious fiscal problems because they are too worried about winning elections. ...



When asked if it annoys him that conservative radio hosts like him and Rush Limbaugh are routinely blamed for making things harder for the Republican Party, Levin responded: “I don’t give a damn what they say, I don’t work for them and they mean nothing to me.”

In fact, he added, if it were up to him, many of the establishment Republicans would be voted out of office.

After tearing a certain WSJ editorial piece a new you-know-what, Mark had the very Senator that the corporatist-beholden publication obviously fears along with the rest of the establishment on his program for a discussion about McConnell and Cornyn's crooked little two-step on the Senate's debt ceiling vote...

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show: Senator Ted Cruz calls in and talks about the debt ceiling vote, how Republicans tried to save face on it, and how there's not a mainstream Republican effort to attempt to seize the debt from growing. Mark calls for new Republican leadership, ones with a coherent and positive message to and for the American people.

tRS: Mark Levin had Ted Cruz on his show tonight to discuss the debt ceiling vote yesterday and one of the things Cruz told him is that Republican politicians hate and fear most when they are forced to tell the truth. Cruz then pointed out that he had his staff print 3 pages of Republican Senators saying several months ago that they would fight for the debt ceiling, that this would be the place where they’d take a stand. And of course they didn’t. But he said it’s as if they think their constituents are a bunch of rubes that won’t remember what they say.

100% of 501(c)(4) groups audited by IRS were 'conservative'

Obama in 2007 attacking the Bush administration for trying to 'hide behind executive privilege' in the so-called 'targeting' of U.S. attorneys...



Then in 2013, under this president, we discover that the IRS was targeting conservative organizations preceding the 2012 presidential election. But only a mere few weeks ago, Obama says there wasn't 'even a smidgen of corruption' in the IRS...



...oh really? Well that's peculiar, because we just discovered that 100% of 501(c)(4) groups that were targeted and audited by IRS were in fact 'conservative'...

Examiner: It seems the IRS has been doing much more than just targeting conservative groups seeking a tax-exempt status. According to a report published Tuesday at the Wall Street Journal, 100 percent of 501(c)(4) groups audited by the IRS were established conservative organizations, said House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich.

“We now know that the IRS targeted not only right-leaning applicants, but also right-leaning groups that were already operating as 501(c)(4)s,” he said in his opening statement.

"At Washington, DC’s direction, dozens of groups operating as 501(c)(4)s were flagged for IRS surveillance, including monitoring of the groups’ activities, websites and any other publicly available information. Of these groups, 83% were right-leaning. And of the groups the IRS selected for audit, 100% were right-leaning,” he added.

But no, 'nothing to see here, move along' says the lamestream media. As much as I'm convinced they realize the truth behind this administration, these damn lapdogs refuse to place 'even a smidgen' of blame on the One they helped install in the Oval Office. And that kinda says it all about the state of what Levin has dubbed the Pretorian Media these days.

McConnell, Cornyn assist Senate Democrats to raise the debt ceiling (UPDATE)

This is practically an update to a previous post on why we need to get rid of these leaderless quislings within the Republican Party...

NYTimes: Senate Republican leaders on Wednesday rescued a measure to raise the nation’s borrowing limit, overcoming a threatened filibuster from members of their own party and averting a potential shock to the economy.

A vote to cut off debate on the debt ceiling measure passed 67 to 31, after a dramatic scene on the floor when Republicans managed to muster 12 votes in support, clearing the way for final approval.

Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, and Senator John Cornyn of Texas, the Republican whip, waited nearly a half-hour as their Republican colleagues refused to vote to end debate on the bill. When it was clear that the debt ceiling increase would fail, they stepped forward in tandem to deliver the deciding votes. Other Republicans followed by changing their votes.

The Senate then quickly voted to raise the nation’s borrowing limit, without any conditions, until March 2015, sending the legislation to President Obama to be signed. The passage ended the possibility of a calamitous debt default, as lawmakers scrambled to get out of town before a snowstorm rolled in.

Here's a tip, Republican voters...when leftist rags champion McConnell and Cornyn for 'saving America' by effectively voting to raise the debt ceiling, it's time for their constituents to choose actual leaders. And two options come to mind this election cycle...

HotAir: If you’ve ever watched a Senate floor vote on C-SPAN, you know how it goes. The senator’s name is called by the clerk, the senator votes, and then the clerk publicly announces how he or she voted. Basic legislative accountability. But not this time.

Because of the midterms, we’re all going to be in unity mode soon. Here’s a little reminder that that unity is an illusion, papered over periodically as necessary for the greater good of keeping liberals out of power. There are two parties within the GOP and some members of one are represented in Congress by members of the other. And on the toughest votes, legislators will go to unusual lengths to try to obscure that fact. Although not always successfully.

Why did McConnell need other Republicans to switch their vote to yes if he, Cornyn, Collins, Murkowski, and Corker were willing to provide the five votes Reid needed to get to 60? Simple: He didn’t need them. He wanted them to switch so that no one could be accused of having provided the decisive 60th vote for cloture. The bigger the Republican crowd voting yes was, in theory the easier it would be for each of them to hide in it. In practice, Politico not only picked up on the clerks’ conspicuous silence, they found out the names of the Republicans who switched under pressure. Now, instead of being guilty of voting for a measure that’s unpopular with the base, they’re guilty and they look sneaky.
