Lawmakers are warning that President Obama's immigration executive actions could open the door for millions of illegal immigrants to qualify for hefty tax "credits" regardless of whether they've filed or paid taxes in the past.
All they need is a Social Security number.
Obama's November announcement paves the way for up to 4 million illegal immigrants to obtain Social Security numbers and work permits. After some initial confusion, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told Congress this week that this would make them eligible for what's known as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) providing they've been working.
President Obama’s temporary deportation amnesty will make it easier for illegal immigrants to improperly register and vote in elections, state elections officials testified to Congress on Thursday, saying that the driver’s licenses and Social Security numbers they will be granted create a major voting loophole.
While stressing that it remains illegal for noncitizens to vote, secretaries of state from Ohio and Kansas said they won’t have the tools to sniff out illegal immigrants who register anyway, ignoring stiff penalties to fill out the registration forms that are easily available at shopping malls, motor vehicle bureaus and in curbside registration drives.
Anyone registering to vote attests that he or she is a citizen, but Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted said mass registration drives often aren’t able to give due attention to that part, and so illegal immigrants will still get through.
Kansas Secretary of State Kris W. Kobach said even some motor vehicle bureau workers automatically ask customers if they want to register to vote, which some noncitizens in the past have cited as their reason for breaking the law to register.
“It’s a guarantee it will happen,” Mr. Kobach said.
Democrats disputed that it was an issue at all, saying Mr. Obama’s new policy, which could apply to more than 4 million illegal immigrants, doesn’t change anything in state or federal law.
Of course not, because Democrats LOVE chaos! They thrive on the anarchy.
So, how are the feckless Republican wonders handling it? Well, they're preparing to cave...
Even as reports emerge demonstrating that President Obama’s executive amnesty will precipitate voter fraud by granting driver’s licenses and social security numbers to illegal immigrants, Republican leaders are already preparing to cave on the immigration issue.
The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would fund the Department of Homeland Security except for President Obama’s executive amnesty program. Now, the Senate is stonewalling, with Democrats voting repeatedly not to take up the bill, insisting instead that Republicans pass a bill funding the executive amnesty along with the rest of the DHS.
Which means that we’re nearing Republican surrender.
Now follow this illogic closely...
Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) maintains that it is time for Democrats in the Senate “to get off their ass and do something other than vote ‘no.’” But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is preparing the groundwork for the cave, stating, “I think it’s clear we can’t go forward in the Senate unless you all have heard something I haven’t. And so the next move, obviously, is up to the House.”
That’s nonsense. When Republicans represented the Senate minority during the Obamacare shutdown, the media declared that Republicans were obstructionists. Now that Democrats are in the minority, the shoe is on the other foot. And despite Republican fears that the Obamacare shutdown would crush electoral prospects, Republicans won a sweeping victory in 2014.
But Republican leaders are frightened nonetheless. They are frightened of media members blaming them...
Never mind their constituencies, much less fear them after snowing most in relection after relection, that last sentence says it all...it's all about media perception and their undying desire to be loved by a liberal-dominated institution that never will! The voters give them all the tools they need, power of the purse in the House, control of the Senate and its rules, and what do they do? Squander it. Just take a look at the cowardly quotes...
Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) says, “I certainly do not think that’s a good idea at this time, when we have lots of national security interests.” Senator John McCain (R-AZ) said, when asked how to avert a shutdown, “I don’t know. I don’t know…We should not cut off funding for the Department of Homeland Security.” Senator John Thune (R-SD) agreed: “We’re not going to shut the government down, including that. We recognize it’s important that we fund the government. Now that we are in the majority, we have the responsibility to do that.” Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) added, “We are unable to get on this bill to amend it. And a result of that, the House is going to have to send us another bill that we can get on.” Democrats, Risch said, “are locked up against it.” He concluded, “There’s nothing we can do.”
Republicans could stand tall. But in the Senate, they won’t. They could force Democrats to keep filibustering – and they could force an actual filibuster, rather than the pro forma filibuster to which Americans have grown accustomed. They could invoke the nuclear option and kill the filibuster altogether, forcing President Obama to veto funding for the Department of Homeland Security. They could even split the DHS funding bill into separate smaller bills funding each section of DHS specifically, and forcing Democrats to stonewall those bills.
Or they could wait for Boehner to cave. And it seems that the latter possibility is also the most likely. On Wednesday, Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) told House Republicans that they couldn’t get the 60 votes necessary to put the bill to a vote. House Republicans, for now, told the two Senators to go back to the Senate and work on it.
But several members of the House have already come out in favor of a cave. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said, “I didn’t necessarily think this was the best ground to fight on because I’ve seen this movie before.” Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) told CNN yesterday, “We won’t shut the government down, that would be really, really stupid.” Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) said, “From a political perspective … you’re better off passing a clean Homeland Security appropriations bill, because it makes a lot of important changes, many of this in the Republican side wanted — more detention beds and all sorts of improvements of border control.”
The Republican leadership is still split on the immigration issue. But it’s unlikely that they’ll remain split for long. When in doubt, bet on surrender.
And this is what continues to destroy the Republican Party, the supposed opposition to the current authoritarian regime that the People were counting on to drag our nation back from the precipice of so many catastrophes, including further balkanization and loss of our cultural identity. They're not only allowing this President to unravel existing law, but they're also allowing him to do all of this without any passage of law from the Legislative Branch to hold the Executive accountable!
If Boehner really means what he says and holds steadfast (I know, but stick with me), expect the lib media hordes to spin this in favor of Democratic messaging against Republicans, even though everyone should have the mental capacity to recognize the Senate Dems at fault.
Naaa, when combined with the Islamists sympathies over America's long-held Judeo-Christian values, the progressives' replacement enviro-religion, the assault on the family from the gay agenda to abortion, and the overall death culture embraced above life, tyranny advanced over liberty, anti-human would be a more fitting and accurate generalization.

TRS: When Obama was doing his boring news conference with the German Chancellor, he actually spouted Iranian propaganda with respect to their nuclear weapons. Seriously, I’m not kidding:
"And if in fact what they claim is true, which is they have no aspiration to get a nuclear weapon, that in fact, according to their Supreme Leader, it would be contrary to their faith to obtain a nuclear weapon, if that is true, there should be the possibility of getting a deal. Why would Obama say this in a public forum if he didn’t believe it? Oh I know, he couches it in ‘if this is true’ but just listen to him. He actually believes it. Just imagine what he’s saying privately. For pete’s sake, why don’t we just give Iran our nukes already and be done with it because with this president at the helm they are going to get nukes anyway.

Obama has told some whoppers. I mean, from how many jobs have been created to when the recovery would start, when the recession would end, to any number of things. He just put himself in them. I mean, he was at Katrina. Katrina happened. There wasn't a dead guy that floated down the street in the French Quarter. All he did was take events that took place and insert himself in there, for the express purposes of mattering. He wanted to have an impact on the outcome. Obama just made things up out of whole cloth and deceived you for the express purpose of getting your vote. Benghazi, for crying out loud. There has been real pain and suffering associated with Obama's lies, and it's greeted with a ho-hum.

Narrative journalism is all the mainstream media dishes out anymore, folks. Everybody's either a victim or a predator, and all of their news stories exaggerate along either extremes for ratings, for fanfare, but mostly for agenda. Know what it is & what you're hearing...

Yes, the media’s “narrative journalism” can certainly set the terms of discussion, bring issues to prominence, downplay inconvenient stories, and so on. And yet that approach generates the opposite results they want pretty regularly, doesn’t it?
Jim highlights a problem totally separate from complaints about low standards in news coverage. It’s fair to ask if narrative journalism is doing more harm to the public than simply leaving them uninformed or misinformed. What if they are serving up unrealistic expectations which, when unfulfilled, produce a volatile response?

Washington Examiner: “Right now, nearly 1 in 5 women in America has been a victim of rape or attempted rape,” President Obama said Sunday night in a message played during the Grammys. “And more than 1 in 4 women has experienced some form of domestic violence.”
Wow, just wow.
Gone are the days that the president makes false claims that 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted while in college. Now 20 percent of all women in America have been raped or nearly raped. And 25 percent of American women — not just college women — have experienced domestic violence.
Let’s just think about that for a minute. The current population of the U.S. is 316.1 million, with women comprising about half. That means there are about 158 million women and girls in the U.S. If 20 percent of American women have been raped or almost raped, that’s a total of 31.6 million women, which is somewhere between the populations of Texas and California.
These numbers are wildly out of line with national crime statistics, which don’t show anywhere near that number of rapes in the past two decades. Those statistics show fewer than 2 million rapes being reported in that time frame. Even accounting for the fact that many rapes go unreported, the number Obama gave Sunday night is staggering. It would mean that just 6.3 percent of rapes and attempted rapes are reported.
This would also mean that, if Obama is right and 25 percent of American women have experienced domestic violence, then 39.51 million women in the country (which is more than the population of California) are victims of such violence.
So essentially, Obama broadcasted to American women that they should be afraid to either leave their house for fear of rape or stay in it for fear of domestic violence! 'Cause there's a war on women, and it's the Republican's fault, don't you know. Unreal.

He not only used his warped version of the Crusades to bash Christians; as Jim Hoft points out, he also blamed slavery and Jim Crow laws on Christians? Yeah, of course he went there too. Hey, genius...
