On Friday, another Georgetown co-ed, Angela Morabito, published a letter in the College Conservative contrary to Sandra Fluke's usage as a "show pony for this circus"...it's well worth the read. Here's some excerpts of Sandra Fluke Does Not Speak for Me:
I’m a proud Georgetown woman upset about another Georgetown woman who may have no pride at all. How else do you explain - Ms. Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law student, now famous for testimony she never gave – jumping up to talk about her sex life (with the House Minority Leader and with the liberal media) and ask for the cost of her sex life to be subsidized by other students at a Jesuit School?
Sandra Fluke was declined the privilege (a privilege, not a right) of testifying in front of a Senate Committee on the proposed contraceptive mandate.
Her name was submitted too late to be admitted to testify. She’s not a lawyer. She’s not a member of the clergy – crucial for a hearing on religious freedom, wouldn’t you say? That’s what Representative Issa said. Her one claim to fame in the reproductive health care debate is…drumroll, please…being a student club leader!
Having been told by Congress to more or less shut up and go home, Sandra found a sympathetic ear in Nancy Pelosi. She is not going to find one on the Georgetown Campus. She is wildly out of step.
Senate Democrats needed a show pony for this circus – and they knew they could find a liberal woman on a college campus who would willingly trot around the ring. That’s why Nancy & Pals created a photo op with all the props – the microphones, the podium, an air of pretense, and the all-important liberal media – for Sandra to tell her “story.” And it is just that – a story, told on a stage.
But Nancy Pelosi and the Liberal Media should know that they can no longer rely on college campuses as an endless source of liberal support. My colleagues and I at TheCollegeConservative are creating a new wave on campuses across the country. Every day we make it a little safer to be conservative – out in public – without fear of bad grades as a result of our views. Sandra should know we have no fear in calling out a classmate for thoughtless liberal ideology.
You can read the rest, including the part about the high cost of attending Georgetown, but Fluke's preposterous inability to pay for contraceptives...? Riiight. Anyway, Morabito concludes with this message for Fluke:
Sandra, I hope you take to heart our school’s motto of “Cura Personalis” – care of the whole person. You are so much more than your reproductive organs. Please, have some self-respect and take responsibility for your choices instead of having to beg the government for help. The government should not be able to force a religious institution – like the one we attend – to pay for the things they don’t believe in. That is pretty clear in the first amendment. But since you missed the ten commandments I can’t expect you to read the Bill of Rights either.
I believe in Georgetown. I love this school. And I know that we are so, so much better than what Sandra Fluke would make us out to be.
And in that conclusion, Morabito succinctly draws the line in the sand between what liberals are attempting to make this fight about (reproductive responsibility handed over to the State...how feminist?) and what the rest of us know it's really about (First Amendment RIGHTS, including most importantly, religious liberty) Trampling on rights, not privileges, but rights, that's Freedom? No, that's unAmerican. These people have never spoken for us, folks.
RushLimbaugh.com: For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.
My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.
This was a choice of conscience (and perhaps a fair amount of liberal pressure on his advertisers), but look for his foes in politics and the media to point to some admission of being wrong about the root of this topic...which he is NOT.
Meanwhile (on Friday), Mr. 'Million-dollars-to-Obama' Maher proves to remain as crooked as ever and utterly lacking class...
ADDENDUM: More sponsors have decided to cowardly pull out. Carbonite has dropped Rush...yet, continue to sponsor Ed 'the Red' Schultz (figure that one out?). Rush will survive this, but the double-standard continues to stare us blatantly in the face. I may have to drop Carbonite over this hypocrisy.

Folks, even Billy O'Reilly gets it...and I think most Americans do as well, despite the feigned outrage of the Democrat's and their liberal media who promulgate these kind of stories per their attempted subversion.
This is not about how Rush exposed this woman and the statist Democrats behind her, however much they'd like to use that distraction to pull the focus away from the truly absurd (sometimes it takes more absurdity to point that out!). This is about the ever-expansive reach of Big Daddy Government, treating us all like sluts, which should be the most offensive. And on that note, Rush also brought up another good point with a caller on Friday: When did feminists become subservient to the State? Nailed it, yet again! You can look to liberal hypocrisy one more time for that...kinda like those 'SlutWalks' last year, or the lack of liberal outrage when Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a 'twat', as well as his Malkin-vibrator remark, or Ed Schultz's "right wing slut" remark aimed at Laura Ingraham...where was their presidential phone call? Oh right, they're conservative women. See, it's got little to do with who called who what, and everything to do with the State dictating what you can do & when you can do it outside the responsibilities of lawful governance. That's the real infringement on Liberty.
I added an update to the Santorum's Michigan delegates post concerning the Romney camp's Chicago-style maneuver, and Levin had some comments to add to that in reference to an NBC report:
In response to criticism that the Michigan GOP changed its rules to benefit native son Mitt Romney, Michigan GOP committeeman Saul Anuzis -- a Romney supporter -- said the winner-take-all aspect for the at-large delegates was always agreed upon, and any misunderstanding was due to an error in the party's memo.
"Regrettably, there was an error in the memo drafted and sent to the respective campaigns," Anuzis said. "There were questions raised at the time the memo was drafted as to whether the legal language used was accomplishing the goal of the committee and we were advised that it was, but now it is clear that the memo did not properly communicate the intent of the committee. The email traffic surrounding the drafting of the memo in early February makes explicitly clear what the intent of the committee was."
But in an interview with NBC News three weeks ago -- on Feb. 8 -- Michigan GOP Chair Robert Schostak clearly stated that Michigan's at-large delegates would be awarded PROPORTIONALLY.
“I’ve got video from his college days that show you why racial division and class warfare are central to what hope and change was sold in 2008 – the videos are going to come out…”
Well, producer/director/writer Steve Bannon told Sean Hannity Thursday night that those videos would be released in a 7-10 days!

Just as Obama proclaimed Wednesday that his apology for the Quran burning had "calmed things down"...
ABCNews: President Obama said his formal apology to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for the burning of Korans by U.S. troops last week has "calmed things down" after the incident sparked an outbreak of violence across the country.
Less than a day later, those words came back to bite him...
No worries for Obama, though...that hasn't stopped him from hitting triple digits in the war chest that counts most towards his benefit.
CBSNews: By day's end, President Obama will hit 100 on the campaign fundraising scoreboard. He reaches the century mark by doing four money-raising events for his re-election campaign during a seven-hour swing through New York City. The visit follows a speech this afternoon here in Nashua, New Hampshire on the energy components of his strategy to boost the economy and create jobs.
See how he continues to subsidize his reelection on the backs of the taxpayers with these phony speeches? But perhaps more troubling, is his priorities: his campaign and the rhetoric that follows it supersedes resolute decisions concerning Afghanistan and our military members in harms way.
The Hill: The Senate voted 51-48 Thursday to kill a controversial amendment to weaken the Obama administration’s policy requiring employers to provide birth control to their employees.
The Senate voted to table the measure from Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), which would have let any employers opt out of healthcare coverage mandates that violate their religious or moral beliefs.
Blunt and other supporters said the amendment was necessary because an “accommodation” offered by the Obama administration to address complaints that its mandate violated religious freedom was insufficient.
They just can't help themselves, so they want you to pay for their condoms, birth control and perhaps even abortions. Who knew? Time for an aspirin between the knees, perhaps? Rush is ripping this story a new one, and rightly so, after enraging congressional libs yesterday by speaking quite frankly about Pelosi's staged single-witness ‘hearing’ in an attempt to frame their ‘reproductive rights’ argument, and specifically targeting the sex-crazed co-ed who claimed she's going broke buying birth control! What did they expect?!
Seriously, unending deficits and debt, but this is the issue they've latched onto to fight against conservatives? Co-eds attending expensive law schools need the American people to pay to protect them from their own sexual escapades? More freebies, more manufactured outrage, more political expediency. Ri-damn-diculous...it deserves to be mocked and ridiculed.
UPDATE: Apparently, Obama felt the need to call Fluke on Friday, reinforcing her plight with that phony liberal compassion (similar to the feigned outrage) that we've come to recognize all too well. But Rush let's us in on the dirty little secret: no one's denying Fluke her birth control pills!
"This isn't about birth control pills anyway, folks. This isn't about contraception anyway. This is about expanding the reach and power of government into your womb if you're a woman. This is about the Democrat Party wanting more and more control over you."
Wow, I was thrust into shock this morning as soon as I got into my car and turned the radio on. Conservative writer and activist Andrew Breitbart has died of natural causes at the young age of 43.
"I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies."
"Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night."
Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.

No society is guaranteed perpetual existence. But I have to believe that the American people are not ready for servitude, for if this is our destiny, and the destiny of our children, I cannot conceive that any people, now or in the future, will successfully resist it for long. I have to believe that this generation of Americans will not condemn future generations to centuries of misery and darkness.
