Cruz: 'I ain’t here workin’ for the New York Times'

Once again, proud to say, 'My Senator!' Ted Cruz appeared on Tuesday's Mark Levin Show...
TheExaminer: During an appearance on the Mark Levin show this evening, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, explained that he relished criticism from the mainstream media.

“Let me say that the fact that the mainstream media and the New York Times is so hysterical about what I’m doing – to me frankly suggests that we’re doing something right,” Cruz said. “Because I tell ya, I ain’t here workin’ for the New York Times, I’m working every day for 26 million Texans and for conservatives and Americans all across this country that want to get back to our Constitution, and want to get back to the free market system that has made us the greatest nation in the history of the world.”

Cruz added that he was proud of conservative groups and individuals who were standing up against an increasingly intrusive federal government.

Cruz also repeated his suggestion that it was time to abolish the IRS.

“I think the best and simplest solution is abolish the IRS, padlock it, and move to a simple flat tax that every American can fill out on a simple post card,” he said.
Here's the entire interview:

Beck: 'Please America, listen to the truth...they are liars'

Tuesday night on TheBlazeTV, Glenn Beck documented the many lies pushed by the current administration through a past vs present comparison...
TheBlaze: “It’s important that you understand the lies that have been told thus far, because they’re only getting worse, and they’re only getting much more dangerous,” Beck warned.

Beck played the following clip, noting that it is 100% “in their own words” in case you want to share it with friends:

Beck argued that the administration has employed a “three-step process” that begins with lies, continues with revising history to fit the desired story, and concludes with smearing anyone who tries to speak out.

“The only way for them to maintain absolute power is for them to always be lying,” Beck said. “To keep this illusion that they can never be wrong, they must silence or attack their opponents who prove them wrong time and time again.”

Beck analyzed the president’s words in more detail on his radio program Monday, from the president’s “early years” to the IRS scandal:

Funny how this administration says on the one hand that things like Benghazi are no longer relevant because it happened so long ago, while continuing to blame Bush for all of their messes; then on the other hand, they play dumb on things like the IRS scandal, while exposing their blatant biases against conservative victims. And in all cases, there's video evidence to clearly prove the deception!

America, and this is for Democrats and Republicans alike, as well as the media, if we're not buying into the failings and deception of the GOP leadership, then what are we doing buying into the Obama administration's more flagrant lies?

MUST SEE: 'Agenda: Grinding America Down'

"AGENDA is the most powerful exposé of the communist, socialist, progressive attempt to take over America produced so far." ~ Ted Baehr, Movieguide
Folks, there's been quite a number of documentaries created over the past few years since the liberals, er, I mean, progressives, have taken over Washington. Here's an exceptional one from a few years back that's well worth taking a second, third and fourth look at...

Conservatives, Christians, Families, AMERICANS...this documentary, Agenda: Grinding America Down, has been posted on the web for only a few months now, but if you haven't seen it, it's a MUST!

It's not just another conspiracy theory...

(Apologies for the subs...the non-subbed version keeps getting pulled off YouTube...figures. Here's a better non-subbed one on vimeo!)

Block out some free time, grab a soda and some popcorn (or a stiff drink!), along with friends and family, WATCH THIS over and over and UNDERSTAND what's happening to America.

Quote of the Day: Bridenstine's one-minute rebuke of the Obama regime

Calm accuracy...
“The President's dishonesty, incompetence, vengefulness, and lack of moral compass lead many to suggest that he is not fit to lead. The only problem is that his vice president is equally unfit and even more embarrassing.”

"In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act." ~ George Orwell

Conservatives testified before House hearing on IRS scandal

"This dialogue is about the jackboot of tyranny on the field of our founding documents. To whisper the letters I.R.S. strikes a shrill note on Main Street USA. But when this behemoth tramples upon America’s grassroots, few hear the snapping sounds." ~ Karen Kenney
Although sparsely covered today, organizations targeted by the IRS were finally granted the opportunity to testify at a House Ways and Means hearing.
HotAir: Meet Karen Kenney, the first in what will undoubtedly be a parade of victims of the intimidation tactics of the IRS aimed at conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status. Twitchy captures Kenney’s statement and the immediate Twitter reaction to it. With President Obama attempting to pre-empt the hearing with an odd live statement on judicial nominations — usually a matter left to press releases — coverage of the hearing has been spotty, but this needs to be seen and read in full:

Besides prying into prayer and educational activities, President of a Pro-Life organization in Iowa, Sue Martinek, informed Congress that the IRS made them promise under penalty of perjury not to protest Planned Parenthood facilities...
LifeNews: At a hearing today over the Internal Revenue Service and how it targeted conservative and pro-life group, the head of one pro-life organization provide details about how the federal agency discriminated against it.

Sue Martinek, President of the Coalition for Life of Iowa, explained to the House Ways and Means Committee that her pro-life group “is a grass-roots, low-budget public charity founded in 2004, to provide prayer, education, and related activities about the sanctity of life from conception to death.”

Later, the IRS made the pro-life group commit to not protesting Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion business.

“In June of 2009, [IRS Agent] Richards told me verbally that we needed to send in a letter with the entire board’s signatures stating that under penalty of perjury we would not picket/protest or organize groups to picket/protest outside of Planned Parenthood,” Martinek said. “Upon receiving such a letter, she indicated that the IRS would allow our application to go through.”

Making a powerfully emotional statement towards not only this congressional committee, but to the government on whole, Alabama Tea Party president Becky Gerritson announced, "You've forgotten your place."
TheExaminer: During her opening statement in front of the House Ways and Means Committee Tuesday morning, Alabama Tea Party President Becky Gerritson teared up as she concluded her remarks, reminding the panel that she was not looking to score political points.

Gerritson said that the government targeting of her Tea Party group was “un-American” and a “willful act of intimidation.”
“I’m not interested in scoring political points. I want to protect and preserve the America that I grew up in, the America that people cross oceans and risk their lives to be come a part of and I’m terrified that it is slipping away.”

Of course, some Democrats, like Rangel, feigned outrage, while others, specifically McDermott, disgracefully blamed the victims in all of this for having the gall to apply for tax-exempt status at all...
HotAir: If you’re going to step in the ring with your government, you should expect to get punched in the face. And by “step in the ring,” I of course mean “avail yourself of the same perfectly legal tax strategies that are routinely permitted to liberal nonprofits.” I confess, while I expected some stupid and predictable Democratic scandal spin this week, I didn’t expect to watch a congressman indirectly defend government discrimination on grounds that the victims could have avoided it by simply not asserting their statutory rights in the first place. And yet here we are.

Despite the many issues that I have with an establishment guy like Paul Ryan these days (his support of amnesty for starters), he was nonetheless right to blast McDermott for blaming the victims...

South Carolina Tea Party president Dianne Belsom also chimed in to correct the Democratic misconception that tea parties are subsidized by the taxpayers...they're not! She also addressed the issue of double taxation on dues or donations...

The hearing ended with the final word from another Democrat who attempted to make this a bipartisan plight of justice for both conservatives and progressives targeted. That'd be laughable if it weren't so damn disingenuous. Here's Chairman Dave Camp explaining earlier to a different Democratic complainer how they were given the opportunity, but were unable to produce a single liberal targeted by the IRS...

There's only one thing left to say:

ADDENDUM: John Eastman of the National Organization for Marriage also lit into Democrats, Blumenauer and Doggett in this particular piece, for the 'scurrilous' comments being lobbed towards his conservative organization...

Cruz leading the charge to abolish the IRS

The IRS would be cruzin' for a bruisin' if more Republicans would take this courageous, young Senator's lead...
FoxNation: Ted Cruz told Eric Bolling that it’s time to abolish the IRS and move to a flat tax. And when asked if he trusted the IRS to handle Obamacare, he said ‘not remotely’.

Over the weekend, Cruz also mentioned the IRS scandal in a noteworthy speech to the Family Research Council focused on the defense of liberty, in principle, faith and truth. That entire speech is well worth the watch...
TheRightScoop: This is a great speech by Ted Cruz from just a few days ago at the Watchmen on the Wall conference in DC. Ted Cruz spends time discussing his own fight against those who have tried to suppress religious freedom in one way or another, including the Obama administration, and how we must all continue the fight for freedom’s sake.

Military judge to allow Ft. Hood jihadi to represent himself at trial (UPDATE)

Here comes the three-ring murder trial of the decade, which shouldn't be referred to as a murder trial at all, but rather a blatant act of terrorism on American soil within the first year of the current Oval Office occupant's reign. Ready yourself for the spewing of Islamist propaganda...
CBSNews: A military judge is allowing the Army psychiatrist charged in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting rampage to represent himself at his upcoming murder trial.

The judge also ruled Monday that Maj. Nidal Hasan’s attorneys will remain on the case, but only if he asks for their help.

The judge, Col. Tara Osborn, said last week that a report indicates Hasan is mentally competent to represent himself.
But apparently, this judge is not. What the hell is going on in central Texas, besides a mockery of justice?

UPDATE: Here comes the soapbox...Ft. Hood jihadist Nidal Hasan will claim his terrorist attack was justified because “Islamic leadership was in imminent danger.”
AP: The Army psychiatrist charged in the deadly 2009 Fort Hood shooting says he’ll show evidence at his trial that he opened fire because Islamic leadership was in imminent danger.

Maj. Nidal Hasan told the judge Tuesday that he needs a three-month delay to prepare to represent himself at trial. He faces the death penalty or life without parole if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.

The judge, Col. Tara Osborn, said she had some questions about Hasan’s defense before she would rule on his delay request.

A “defense of others” strategy requires defendants to prove they killed a person or people to protect others from immediate danger. Many of the soldiers killed on the Texas Army post were preparing to deploy.

Two-thirds of Americans consider opting out of Obamacare

This could be considered good news, but for one little catch. The promises of keeping your plan, your doctor, etc. were a flat-out LIE. So, you gotta wonder how many of these same people will be shocked when they realize that there's a consequence to opting out? Namely, a huge fine for lacking health insurance, courtesy of the IRS enforcement apparatchik!
CNBC: There's no assurance folks will be buying insurance under Obamacare, and that could spell trouble for the Affordable Care Act.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans who currently lack health insurance don't know yet if they will purchase that coverage by the Jan. 1 deadline set by the ACA, a new survey revealed Monday.

And less than half of those in the survey released by InsuranceQuotes.com think they'll get better health care after Obamacare takes full effect. Nearly 50 percent believe the ACA will make it more difficult for them to get tests and procedures done in a timely manner, according to the phone survey of 1,001 adult Americans conducted in early May.

And a whopping 68 percent of low-income Americans aren't sure they qualify for tax credits that would subsidize their purchase of health insurance—despite the fact that they almost invariably will qualify, the survey found. That population is most likely to benefit from government subsidies under the health-care reform law.
Only 'nearly 50 percent' believe Obamacare will make things more difficult? We've got some waking up to do yet, America.

Issa slams Carney as a 'paid liar'

About time somebody calls the Carney-barker for what he really is...
TheHill: House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) slammed White House spokesman Jay Carney as a "paid liar" Sunday over the administration's handling of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal.

"Their paid liar, their spokesperson, the picture behind, he's still making up things about what happened and calling this a local rogue," Issa said, referring to Carney.

Levin: 'It’s my generation that has shredded the Constitution'

Something to think about. On Friday, Mark spoke to his generation's shredding of the Constitution, but the hope that lies in the next...
"This generation, this younger generation, is actually a pretty good generation, all things told. It’s my generation that’s doing things to them. It’s my generation forcing them into Liberal indoctrination centers that we call our public school system. It’s my generation that has elected politicians. There’s not enough of them that vote. It’s our generation, my generation, that has elected people from our generation, who create these massive yearly deficits and this ballooning debt that will destroy their futures. If we don’t figure out how to reverse course. It’s not the younger generation. It’s our generation that has shredded the Constitution, and generations before us. Not the eighteen-year-olds, and twenty-year-olds, and thirty-year-olds. Yes, it’s true."
