The 9/11 hijackers were motivated by HATE alone. Period. And we as Americans commemorate this anniversary with solemn and sacred remembrance of those lost, as well as the heroes that arose that day, and a time to reflect on the fact that there are indeed people who wish us harm for being a free society. We are a nation that allows its citizens the liberty to reach whatever attainable levels of success that they aspire to, allowing people to be whom and what they want to be, as well as the right to live within the law and worship as they see fit. And we reject the liberal statist’s ‘change’ cast onto our exceptional nation, just as we defy a foreign entity that would force its radical ideology on a free people. So what the hell is wrong with these Leftists who couldn't find it in themselves to declare this anniversary one of memorialization and reflection, heroism and mourning, but instead politicize the solemness of this commemoration with a declaration of ‘national service’? Our own President and First Lady…
How working a soup kitchen honors those lost on 9/11, can only give one yet another glimpse of how out of touch this president is with the evil we faced on that grave day, the general concept of how Americanism lifts us, strengthens our resolve, and on a more base level, simply understanding the grief. Likewise, his cohorts in Big Media and Big Labor so profoundly don’t get it either.
Rather than join Americans in memorializing this occasion, Paul Krugman shamefully used his ability to editorialize as a tool for division, offense, attack and conspiracy. His New York Times rant, confirmed what Krugman really thinks about 9/11, saying what happened after 9/11 “was deeply shameful,” attacking Giuliani and Bush as “fake heroes” and his media colleagues for “lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity,” over the liberal assertion that this attack was used as the sole justification for going into Iraq, never mind Hussein’s terrorist support and the interconnectivity of radical Islam throughout the Middle East. Then Krugman contemptuously concludes, “The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.” He confirms his own intolerance by disallowing comments to his post, “for obvious reasons.” Cowardice, perhaps?
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka echoed Obama’s tact, or lack thereof, reflecting on “doors that were opened,” not because of the shear professions of the selfless heroes, but by insinuating that unionization fueled the unity and solidarity shared between its members and regular folks on that fateful day. Doesn’t Trumka make this assertion that the union is necessary with pretty much every speech? Remember Labor Day? Nonetheless, Trumka goes on to pit union workers against those of us who are simply asking for smaller government and less intrusion in our daily lives, a concept shared by, yes, even some union members, Mr. Trumka. Then the usual leftist conspiratorial paranoia leaps out, attacking wealthy CEOs, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, the Koch brothers, Karl Rove’s American Crossroads group, Americans for Prosperity, the Club for Growth, FreedomWorks and the American Legislative Exchange Council, asserting that all of these push open “the door to hate,” and that the only thing that can save us is unionization’s support of free, yet unattainable pensions for all, along with collectively bargaining for ‘retirement security’. He even manages to mix in “the costs of hatred in ill-thought wars, in shameful attacks on immigrants and our LGBT neighbors...the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords…the racism that has found overt and covert expression since Barack Obama began his run for office—from outright declarations of people who said out loud they would never vote for a black man to the ridiculously persistent obsession with our president’s birth certificate.” Trumka continues by attempting to obfuscate what conservatives know Obama’s “hope and change” is really about, and concludes his 9/11 message with another union call to arms: “Brothers and sisters, friends, I hope you will join me in marking this solemn anniversary by committing to redouble your activism on behalf of America’s everyday working heroes. We will rise or fall together.”
Nice 9/11 message, huh?
The unveiling of the long-awaited National September 11th Memorial, as well as the dedication and opening of the Flight 93 National Memorial, finally provided family members and friends of those lost in this atrocity an opportunity to properly mourn and heal. You’d think that any and all would set politics and ideology aside for one day at this time of national remembrance, but that would prompt one to acknowledge that these guys actually understand compassion and don’t just throw that word around lightly, like so many others in their lexicon.

NEVER FORGET
As we enter this 10th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on American soil, we are reminded to pause from our busy lives, put the brakes on politics for a day (perhaps even sports, I dare say), and join with the rest of America in offering prayers for the souls of those 2,976 victims, along with honoring their family members, who continue to grieve for their lost ones. God Bless them all...we will NEVER FORGET.

Just words...
Erick Erickson warned us that all we needed to know about Obama’s jobs speech is (1) the President took Trumka to the ball, (2) the multi-million dollar stimulus-induced (and now bankrupt) solar company, Solyndra, was raided by the FBI this morning, and (3) there’d be no need to be subjected to another speech if his last attempts had actually worked! He was right. So onto the speech…
Mark Levin’s coverage of the speech was by far the most SUPERB way to listen to this dribble…err, I mean, economic revival…
This is not the American’s Job Act…this is the SAVE OBAMA’S JOB ACT!
Exhausted, Mark finally decided after 2/3 of the way through that he “can’t take it anymore” because “this isn’t funny, this is stupid.” Obama will take to the campaign trail, blaming Republicans for “blocking all of this” all along the way. Levin concluded his coverage with this challenge: “I dare any of you to make a list of what you’ve heard so far. He’s always painting a picture of the pie in the sky: new schools, more teachers, more employees, buy American, creating jobs, small business. This man is a human wrecking ball. What did he say about the free market system? Did he say one damn thing? What did he say about unleashing the American worker? What did he say about attracting foreign investment and foreign business into this country? Nothing. More of the same, more shell games.”
Afterwards, Daniel Horowitz took a closer look at Obama’s simple math:
Let’s forget the fact that Obama’s entire Stimulus 10.0 is a counterintuitive proposal that doubles down on the very failures that precipitated this speech. Let’s also disregard the fact that enshrining unemployment insurance as a permanent handout will perpetuate unemployment. And more union-induced, short-term money drops on infrastructure will do nothing but stimulate traffic jams. Let’s focus purely on the very numbers that the administration has offered –numbers that would undoubtedly be revised upward, if the plan is passed.
The package currently totals $447 billion, but as Horowitz states, that’s before it will inevitably be revised up. Oh, and this is coming from money out of thin air!
Out of this entire "pass this jobs bill" speech, to which there is no actual 'bill', there wasn't one mention of energy as a jobs stimulant. Actually, one Louisiana congressman took note of the jobs-killing policies and felt inclined to silently protest with a succinct message on behalf of his constituents...
This President, his Democrat Party, this Big Government, with all of its cronyism on parade, has had ample opportunity to do what should have been done, but decided to do what they wanted to do from the beginning. As Jeffrey Lord of the American Spectator describes, Obama is “a president who has had a full two years of total control of the government to re-arrange the economy to his liking,” upon which Lord equates the President’s song and dance to Britney Spears’ trademark: “Baby, One More Time.”
The results are in, and quite obviously they are terrible. Unemployment, which Obamanomics insisted would be down to 8% long ago, is resting at a stone-cold 9.1% The rest of the economy is a wreck. As Ronald Reagan could have told him and in fact as all manner of people other than liberals did tell Mr. Obama, his approach of a massive "stimulus" followed by a takeover of the American health care system -- "ObamaCare" -- was destined to fail right from the start. Now, the President is reduced to singing the political equivalent of another Spears hit: "Oops, I Did It Again."
And after concluding that, although in all practicality, Obama’s presidency is over, Lord anguishes over the fact that “alas for the American people, they will have to live the seriously real time lesson of Obamanomics for another breathtakingly lousy 16 months. A full and lousy sixteen months until one of the people on the stage of the Reagan Library the other night puts his or hand on the Bible in January of 2013. At which point, former President Britney Spears will lose the power to do it to the American people one more time.” This should be more than our mere hope; this should be our prayer and dedication as Americans who want to see a nation worth handing over to our next generations, devoid of false promises, government dependency, hemorrhaged, budget-less borrow-and-spend practices and the most destructive policies, unsuitable for growth of any kind.

The ultimate oxymoron: MSNBC’s GOP debate
All the reviews of Wednesday nights debate have just about expired, and focus has turned towards picking apart Obama’s speech this evening. However, I did take note of one question that continued to permeate throughout today’s analysis: whose bright idea was it to have MSNBC and Politico host a Republican debate at the Reagan Library? Seriously. Out of the gate, the ridiculousness of the questioning, particularly the way they were set up, but also their execution, lacked the focus on issues that Republican voters, or Americans in general, care about in these critical economic and unprincipled times.
It’s no secret that Brian Williams enjoys badgering Republicans from his liberal leanings, so it came to no surprise that although he started with the right topic, he set up the blame-Bush decorum out of the gate…
“…we’re going to start with jobs and the economy. The numbers from our new NBC/WSJ poll this week are candidly jaw-dropping. The country thinks the economy is going to get worse before it gets better, a majority of people in this country now believe the Republican policies of the first 8 years of the past decade are responsible for the economic mess we’re in, and we should quickly add, a majority don’t believe the current Democratic president has set the right policies to fix the fix we’re in. The question is, really, who can?”
…proceeding into the first question asked of Rick Perry, in which the governor was obliged to correct Williams’ accessment of Texas job creation, informing the uninformed host that 95% of the jobs created in Texas were indeed above minimum wage…
We also saw in last night’s debate a theme that we’ve become accustom to viewing: antagonizing hosts. It becomes more apparent with each debate, that the hosts’ ideas regarding the concept of a debate are not to thoroughly cover the important issues at hand or that the viewership is most concerned about, which could fuel a substantive debate, along with coverage of overall defining principles – case in point, one can see the contrasts with what the Palmetto Freedom Forum had to offer – but rather, there’s a concerted effort to simply see if they can either catch the candidates off guard in gotcha moments prescribed by the hosts or coax the candidates into arguing amongst themselves. And as with the last debate, Newt was the first to voice that he wasn’t having any of that…
As Rush would say, “Right on, right on!” This provided one of the more notable moments of the night.
Nonetheless, some sparing is par for the course. And the hosts made it apparent, as was expected, that their focus would be on the two frontrunners in the race, Perry and Romney, so they proceeded to instigate the ensuing spars, and the candidates were obviously willing to oblige…
Now of course they should differentiate themselves, but not for the glee of liberal reporters. And that was in part, one reason for Newt’s response to Politico’s John Harris. So it came to no surprise when Brian Williams found himself befuddled and appalled that a GOP audience would overwhelmingly support capital punishment…
As Matthew Sheffield of NewsBusters described, “Far from being the celebration of death and killing that the contemptuous Williams implied it was, the audience’s reaction was more of spontaneous protest vote against the holier-than-thou anti-execution crowd which has for decades tried to shove its minority viewpoint onto the vast majority of Americans who disagree. The fact that many of the same crowd doing this shoving also is fond of insisting that conservatives should refrain from “legislating morality” on other issues such as abortion or gay rights makes the audience response all the more understandable.”
And Rush of course had plenty to say about the debate, but started off by asking ‘his good friend’ Brian Williams a question: “Are you having trouble sleeping at night? You and your network have supported Obama's inept budget-breaking, failed economic policies. Your network has supported, encouraged, applauded, defended Obama's assault on the American way of life. Brian, how are you sleeping at night? I'd like to know.”
The effort was pretty clear last night, which was the other part of Newt’s point: to keep the man behind all the chaos, who's quadrupled down on unemployment and deficit spending with debilitating and absolutely destructive policies over the past 3 years, out of the crosshairs, making sure he was discussed as little as possible. And their lies the ultimate oxymoron of a MSNBC GOP debate.

A profound message to Bloomberg
Academy Award-winning actor and conservative activist Jon Voight has submitted a poignant open letter to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg concerning his decision to ban religious services at this coming weekend's 10th anniversary memorial of the 9/11 attacks:
“My dear fellow Americans: There is a great injustice that is about take place in New York City on September 11 of this year, that must be brought to everyone’s mind and heart. The good citizens of New York City elected Mayor Bloomberg into office, believing his oath to be responsible for truth, fairness and love of freedom and patriotism. What has Mayor Bloomberg done? He has decided to make a pretty picture of whomever he thinks is worthy of, in his opinion, to be honored on this sacred day.
During this horrific attack, when the Twin Towers were burning and crumbling and people were jumping out of windows, it was the most unthinkable sight that we would witness in our lifetime on American soil. Every American will never forget it. The firemen and police of New York City became a force and energy of God’s love and power, making a decision to give up their own lives to go into these smoke-filled, burning falling buildings, to rescue these unfortunate victims. Many lost their lives trying this unbelievable rescue.
The ones that survived became our martyrs and heroes. They’d be left with many scars and memories of that horrible day. Now what does Mayor Bloomberg do? He decides there is no room for these heroes, or any time to hear spiritual words from our clergymen. What would be greater to heal the scars and memories of these families and heroic men — the political rhetoric and talk, or to hear the spiritual words and wisdom of our clergymen, who understand how to heal hearts of pain? I say make room, no matter how it’s done. Make room for them to be part of a spiritual event, not a political event.
Every American should voice their outrage. May God have mercy on all our lost souls, and may God give us all the strength to look truth in the eye. Let us not be bullied by elected officials whose pockets become heavier with greed and their own egos.”

Civility? Talk is cheap... ('CIVIL' UPDATE)
Before the latest coordinated efforts (and make no mistake about that, they are ‘coordinated’ from the top) of the race-baiters and Big Labor thugs to impede the movement of responsible Americans, all should be reminded of the façade of civility from the President himself…remember?
Wow. The man has done nothing BUT ‘point fingers’ and ‘assign blame’ since. Surprising? Of course not. Hypocritical? Absolutely; however, that’s not surprising either. The strategy has always been to silence dissent, while radical societal-changing policies are steamrolled through. Big Labor has been a part of this, as Trumka has admitted…
Then soon after Obama’s speech, Big Labor, their rabid hordes and their politicians were among the first to abandon this ‘tone of civility’ and descend on Wisconsin...
…with speeches coming from far and wide, encouraging folks to not be afraid to “get a little bloody when necessary”…
So now where are we? Well, as everyone knows, after every wave recedes, it advances forward again. And as previously mentioned, the usual cast of race-baiters in the CBC have joined forces with Big Government’s muscle in a concerted effort of ill intentions and violence-inciting rhetoric against the non-unionized taxpaying majority of Americans. This passes for civility? No, this is desperation…and the latest to join in the party is a video gaming outfit who decided to ratchet the violence up yet one more notch…
Does this begin to move beyond fantasizing and into target practice? Will these people feel any responsibility for inciting violence, or, God forbid, another deadly incident like the Gifford’s shooting? Desperation makes people do crazy things, but I don’t think simulating the killing of your fellow American over political differences is the productive direction for a civil society. Call me crazy.
'CIVIL' UPDATE: In case you didn’t catch it yesterday, here’s a quick mention from this S.O.B. about more of that unionized civility, now out of Seattle, WA. Townhall had a nice, little, all-encompassing intro to this story…
Say, didn't a prominent union boss recently urge unionized workers to "take out" certain "son-of-a-bitches" [sic] deemed to be threats to the power and influence of organized labor? Didn't he do so at an official presidential event? And after both the White House and DNC chair declined to condemn his inflammatory rhetoric, didn't he also defiantly refuse to apologize? "Climate of hate!" It seems as though at least one local union in Washington State has already taken Jimmy Hoffa Jr.'s general sentiment to heart.

Hundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested.
I concur with VerumSerum’s response, “Wait. What? They took hostages and destroyed property and no one was arrested?” That’s right. In Obama’s America, the purpleshirts and greenshirts are the muscle; therefore, they receive full immunity for any of their ‘sensible’ violence.

So now where are we? Well, as everyone knows, after every wave recedes, it advances forward again. And as previously mentioned, the usual cast of race-baiters in the CBC have joined forces with Big Government’s muscle in a concerted effort of ill intentions and violence-inciting rhetoric against the non-unionized taxpaying majority of Americans. This passes for civility? No, this is desperation…and the latest to join in the party is a video gaming outfit who decided to ratchet the violence up yet one more notch…
Does this begin to move beyond fantasizing and into target practice? Will these people feel any responsibility for inciting violence, or, God forbid, another deadly incident like the Gifford’s shooting? Desperation makes people do crazy things, but I don’t think simulating the killing of your fellow American over political differences is the productive direction for a civil society. Call me crazy.

Say, didn't a prominent union boss recently urge unionized workers to "take out" certain "son-of-a-bitches" [sic] deemed to be threats to the power and influence of organized labor? Didn't he do so at an official presidential event? And after both the White House and DNC chair declined to condemn his inflammatory rhetoric, didn't he also defiantly refuse to apologize? "Climate of hate!" It seems as though at least one local union in Washington State has already taken Jimmy Hoffa Jr.'s general sentiment to heart.

Hundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested.
I concur with VerumSerum’s response, “Wait. What? They took hostages and destroyed property and no one was arrested?” That’s right. In Obama’s America, the purpleshirts and greenshirts are the muscle; therefore, they receive full immunity for any of their ‘sensible’ violence.

Fast & furiously revealing...

On top of the Gibson raid, the AT&T/T-Mobile blocked merger, and a host of assorted subversions perpetrated by the DoJ, past and present, the definitive nail in the coffin of this corrupt department lies within the flood of information that’s coming out regarding Operation Fast & Furious. Congressional investigators tell CBS News there's evidence the U.S. Attorney's office in Arizona sought to cover up a link between their controversial gunwalking operation known as "Fast and Furious" and the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Just hours after the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, federal officials tried to cover up evidence that the gun that killed Terry was one the government intentionally helped sell to the Mexican cartels in a weapons trafficking program known as Operation Fast and Furious. The revelation comes just days after a huge shake-up of government officials who oversaw the failed anti-gun trafficking program and Congress renewed its demand for more answers.

As RedState's Moe Lane concludes, “We’re starting to exit the ‘ask questions’ part and starting to enter the ‘here, let me pull on these loose threads here’ stage; patience is a virtue generally, and doubly so when it comes to a (potential) scandal of this magnitude. The real fun starts when people increasingly under the magnifying glass start realizing that while, say, the Attorney General can count on having a signed pardon covering his departure, they cannot…”
Issa and Grassley should be commended for sticking with this investigation, as well as encouraged to continue digging deeper. With the help of these two congressional members, the truth will out; and when it does, the Obama Administration, particularly Attorney General Eric Holder, MUST answer for it.

Zero jobs
Anticipating Friday’s jobs report, The Hill reported that, “the Obama administration downgraded its forecast for economic growth Thursday, predicting turmoil in the economy will likely keep unemployment above 9 percent through next year’s election.” ABOVE 9%! And this morning’s jobs report confirmed that dismal forecast: ZERO jobs created in August. Nada. Zilch. Business Insider describes this “big fat goose-egg” as “much worse than the 68K that was expected by analysts.” And the Heritage Foundation paints a broader picture:
President Obama enters this Labor Day weekend with a serious problem on his hands. For all intents and purposes, the economy appears to be stuck in neutral, with news out today that the U.S. economy created a grand total of zero jobs in August. This followed two months of near zero growth. Not surprisingly then, the unemployment rate in August remained at 9.1 percent, virtually unchanged since April. In fact, it was completely unchanged, and for the first time since 1945, no new jobs were created – Zero.
Reacting to the disastrous jobs report, House Speaker John Boehner asserted that private-sector job growth “continues to be undermined by the triple threat of higher taxes, more failed ‘stimulus’ spending and excessive federal regulations. Together, these Washington policies have created a fog of uncertainty that’s left small businesses unable to hire and American families worried about the future." He’s absolutely right, and we’ve seen it in the Democrat’s push for more taxes in the debt debate, with calls for even more Keynesian spending, and with the continuous barrage of regulations created through executive fiat and enforced by the DoJ, affecting any and all industry, from Gibson to AT&T.
This isn’t improvement, and this isn’t hope and change. This isn’t something that we can withstand for another year, much less 4 more after that. As The Hill article we began with makes the case, “The unemployment rate is considered to be one of the most important factors in presidential elections, so if the White House’s assessment holds, President Obama is in for one of the toughest reelection fights in memory.”
