While we celebrate this every year, this Independence Day is special because for the first time in nearly 50 years unborn babies around this great country will actually get a chance to breathe the same air we breathe and live! The dark shadow of abortion still lives on in some states, but for much of the country that darkness has turned into light. So while you’re out celebrating with friends and family today, say a special thanksgiving for the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade and for the President who made it happen.And as November rapidly approaches, let us never forget the vigilance and prudence of our unalienable second right exercised to protect the first...
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."Of course the most peaceful means to institute new government is at the ballot box, albeit minus the corruption we experienced a few short years ago. We must vigilantly continue to secure such just powers from the consent of the governed, not a cabal of elites who wish to rig the system and thwart it.
Prudence has indeed dictated that the protection of Life is absolutely no light or transient cause. It's unfortunate that mankind is more prone to suffer evils we've become accustomed to, rather than to right them. However, by the regenerative Grace of God in guiding our nation's destiny, we can thank Him on this Fourth of July celebration, while continuing to pray for the prudential use of our Liberty towards His Providential guidance this fall in instituting new governance, ultimately benefiting our indelible pursuit of Happiness.
