For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Another year rolls by, and it's Christmas time once again! 'Tis the season to celebrate our traditions, from a wealth of history...
...to its modern incarnations. Yep, even those insane light displays (sorry, can't post'em all!)...
And ultimately at its core, let us reflect and commemorate the Holy significance of this season with its most meaningful reason...
AND it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David :) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. ~ Luke 2:1-14
We give thanks to God for a Savior, His only begotten Son...
GOD, who makest us glad with the yearly remembrance of the birth of thine only Son Jesus Christ; Grant that as we joyfully receive him for our Redeemer, so we may with sure confidence behold him when he shall come to be our Judge, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.
May we remain as vigilant in returning our nation to Christ as keeping the rich heritage that continues to make us American.
How many times can the lamestream press get it wrong? A LOT! And quite intentionally so.
To round out the year, we're gonna go with Grabien's excellent montage of most mortifying media moments of 2019. Is there a liberal bias in the news? Of course there is. Let there be no more denial of it, as we're again shown the clear and deliberate propaganda peddled by a leftist press. This has become the unfortunate devolution of mainstream media in America...
If there's a theme for this year's Most Mortifying Media Moments, it's that some hoaxes are just too big to fail. Over the last 12 months, many of the biggest stories America's major media broadcast turned out to be ... flat wrong. And unfortunately, these networks' enthusiasm for their reporting dissipated when it came time to correct the record.
The hoaxes came in all different forms — fake hate crimes, foreign collusion, debunked dossiers — but that isn’t to say they had nothing in common. These stories all helped advance a narrative that just so happened to be shared by the news outlets themselves.
But as you’ll see... not everything was serious; many of these stories — like the collective freakout about an obscure Trump meme — were complete jokes.
Kinda shows you who's really driving the political agenda, huh? No wonder most of their ratings are in the toilet!
Another new year's resolution: TURN IT OFF! Restore your vision in 2020.
It’s costing taxpayers — bigly, as President Trump would say.
As House Democrats have pursued impeachment for the past three months, they’ve already cost taxpayers $3.06 million, according to Heritage Foundation research.
Add up lawyers’ fees and the salaries of staff whose duties have been consumed by impeachment proceedings, and taxpayers are footing a hefty bill. As the Daily Signal reports, the price tag could be even higher:
The total likely is a low estimate because it does not factor in overtime hours for U.S. Capitol Police when House hearings ran well into the late evening. The total also doesn’t include the cost of executive branch expenses, travel costs for witnesses, or supplies and materials.
...each second costs taxpayers more money.
Again, that's just the past three months. Let's not forget how long the do-nothing Dems have actually been dragging this effort out, which exponentially adds to that tally...
But with all kinds of expensive, unconstitutional irritants foisted on us throughout this absurd process, I didn't just wanna rehash the details in some deadpan manner, or guess Pelosi & comrades' next move, as they lose more support for their efforts across their own blue shores, which is obviously not working for them the way they'd hoped...
A great “tell” is this story from the Washington Post: “Impeachment has commanded widespread attention. The political impact may be more muted.” Here’s some blather from the story:
When the dust clears, the result is most likely to look more like a draw than a victory, say political strategists from both sides. Ten weeks of the House impeachment inquiry have spun an already polarized country through yet another centrifuge of outrage, further separating champions of the president from those who see him a danger to the country.
Translation: Impeachment isn’t working for Democrats. If it was, the Post wouldn’t equivocate. They have to put a good face on it, so like the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail after he’d had his arms and legs hacked off, the Post is saying, “Okay, we’ll call it a draw.”
Rather, I ran across this comprehensive piece from a former Bush strategist no less. Though I don't completely agree with the sentiment that President Trump should "put impeachment behind him and refocus on reelection, keeping one thing in mind: Success is the best revenge," because I think this president is capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time! I do however think there's a good sense of setting the stage nicely for 2020 and settling this nonsensical misuse of impeachment as a political weapon once and for all...
Democrats have been pledging to impeach President Trump from the moment he was elected in 2016. And on Dec. 18, 2019, more than three years later, they finally succeeded.
But it will be a fleeting victory, as acquittal in the Senate is assured. The outcome was never in doubt and this entire endeavor has been an enormous waste of time. Which raises the question: Why pursue a partisan impeachment that was doomed to fail?
Answer: Removal from office was never the goal. Democrats have always had only one goal in mind: Defeating Mr. Trump for reelection. Their entire mission is to weaken the president’s political standing next year.
I don't doubt this as one of their reasons to impeach a sitting president in his first term, a first in itself. But I also think this deflects from the previous administration's corruption, some of their own members' corruption, and at least one of their nominee's corrupt dealings, of course all with the aid of a lapdog media downplaying at every turn. Yet, it's coming out anyway, thanks to thisadministration. The piece goes on to speak of the coalescence occurring...
While the case for impeachment has never developed, Democrats held hands and jumped off the cliff together, taking vulnerable members from Trump districts with them. Their votes to impeach him will make it impossible to run as independent, bipartisan members of Congress next year.
For Mr. Trump, while impeachment has surely been unpleasant and must feel deeply unfair, it has helped him politically. Republicans have never been more unified than they are right now. Democrats are somewhat divided, with vulnerable members not wanting to pursue impeachment but ultimately voting for it from fear of their base.
The Trump campaign has seen an astounding 600,000 new donors since impeachment began. There is new enthusiasm for Mr. Trump because of this impeachment debacle. Public polling has shown a decrease in support for impeachment and an uptick in the president’s job-approval rating. ...
Voters have the final say... Demonstrating popular support for his agenda and an endorsement of the direction of the country will undermine the meaning of impeachment. At the same time, Congressional Republicans should make Democrats own impeachment and hold them accountable for ignoring the problems facing the country in pursuit of a hyperpartisan goal.
This absolutely needs to be driven home, I would argue, more severe than some would like to let them off the hook for putting the country through, for the cost of this sham impeachment has not been insignificant...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, needlessly delayed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement for more than a year as a bargaining chip with moderate Democratic members in return for supporting impeachment. No meaningful legislative progress has been made toward an infrastructure bill or other key legislative priorities. And next year will be worse, as legislation dies in election years.
What do Democrats have to show for their majority? Their two years in control will be dominated by impeachment, which made no one’s life better and was not even a promise they made to the electorate in 2018.
Impeachment was an overreach, much like Obamacare was in 2009, and Mrs. Pelosi has pushed both through Congress. In 2010, she lost her majority. The question now is whether that can happen again in 2020?
Americans, I'll tell it like Levin would: It's up to you to toss these miscreants and malcontents out on their asses come November 2020! They still won't learn a damn thing from it, but it is the only way to prevent them from incurring more damage on our great nation from within. The piece concludes with this foretelling...
In history, this impeachment chapter will appear small and meaningless. There was no crime, no victim and the Ukrainians said they weren’t pressured. Democrats claimed bribery and extortion, but never came close to proving it and chose not to pursue articles of impeachment of these accusations.
Democratic crocodile tears over Ukraine are absurd. They made no defense of Ukraine when the Obama administration refused to provide defensive weaponry to Ukraine after Russia seized Crimea.
Mr. Trump cannot formally erase the House impeachment vote, but he can erase its significance.
Earning reelection in 2020 will permanently state public opposition to impeachment.
And holding these bastards accountable, both at the voting booth and before our courts of law, must be our permanent recourse. Oh, and that reminds me, one last thing...
Meanwhile, if I read the Senate calendar correctly, while the House was debating impeachment, the Senate was confirming 13 new federal judges Trump appointed. Sounds like winning to me.
ADDENDUM: Besides holding Dems accountable, Levin's come up with a superb strategy for McConnell and Senate Republicans, if in fact Pelosi intends to hold onto these articles, thereby holding the Senate hostage to her fascistic will...
2. Here’s what Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans must do in response: The Senate has the sole power under the Constitution to adjudicate an impeachment. Therefore, Pelosi is attempting to obstruct the Senate’s power to act on its constitutional authority.
4. McConnell has no less authority to unilaterally make such a decision than Pelosi does to withhold the administrative notification of an impeachment to the Senate either indefinitely or w/ conditions. Her effort to cripple the presidency & blackmail the Senate must be defeated.
Newsflash: The country is thankfully made up of much more than coastal lib elites, in residence and character. We're not just 'flyover country', and they don't represent US or even all of their own! Obviously enough to keep them reelected, though, however unfortunate for the rest of this vast nation. But their unAmerican audacity never ceases to amaze. We've got the impeachment sham going with cracks widening throughout, waining support for it in the polls, some Dems even considering censure instead, all on top of the IG's report on the FBI's FISA abuses that doesn't exonerate anyone, but ties right into this whole coup from the start. Not looking too good for Nance and crew, but they still have the media to shield them somewhat for now. So, what to do? There's a meanwhile to this...
Meanwhile, President Trump gains a major policy WIN on USMCA yesterday...handed to him by, wait for it... Pelosi! They were finally forced to take up the new trade deal that had been sitting on the Speaker's desk for the past year in a do-nothing Democratic Congress that's only objective has been to get rid of the guy instead of working for the American people...so they had to have something to show by the end of the year!
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday announced that Democrats had struck a deal on the new U.S. trade deal with Mexico and Canada.
Trump had accused Pelosi of being incapable of passing the agreement because she is too wrapped up in impeachment. On Monday, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Siriux XM’s Breitbart News Daily that Pelosi was the sole individual standing in the way of getting the deal signed.
Pelosi on Tuesday said the new deal was a “victory for America’s workers.”
Pelosi’s announcement came less than one hour after Democrats announced their impeachment charged against President Donald Trump, creating the odd juxtaposition of Democrats handing the president a major legislative victory while furthering their attempts to remove him from office.
President Trump celebrated the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, in pair of tweets Tuesday morning.
America’s great USMCA Trade Bill is looking good. It will be the best and most important trade deal ever made by the USA. Good for everybody - Farmers, Manufacturers, Energy, Unions - tremendous support. Importantly, we will finally end our Country’s worst Trade Deal, NAFTA!
Repealing and replacing NAFTA was one of Trump’s signature 2016 campaign promises. The adoption of the USMCA fulfills that promise.
The House is planning to vote on the agreement next week. Now that it has support from House Democrats and U.S. labor leaders, it is expected to pass easily.
✅ Another promise made
✅ Another promise kept
No one thought President @realDonaldTrump could renegotiate NAFTA, but he did. It's pathetic that Democrats still won't give him any credit. pic.twitter.com/XEmhrYkQhn
Amid congressional Democrats unveiling their phony articles of impeachment this morning (ironically, one is 'abuse of power' as they abuse their own power!), it would do ALL good, Republican and Democrat alike, to review an interview that took place Sunday evening, which the vast majority in the mainstream media would rather you didn't watch...
If the House of Representatives votes to impeach President Donald Trump based on the evidence currently on the record against him, it would be a violation of the U.S. Constitution, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz says.
“It would be an utter abuse of the power of Congress. The Constitution sets out four criteria for impeaching a president: Treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors,” Dershowitz explained to LevinTV host Mark Levin on Sunday night’s episode of Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News. “Unless one of those criteria is met, Congress does not have the authority to impeach, and if they do, their impeachment would be void. Alexander Hamilton said any act of Congress that is inconsistent with the Constitution is void.”
The Harvard legal scholar also took issue with the notion that impeachment is whatever Congress says it is, which has become a popular talking point among Trump’s political opponents.
“Congress may be able to get away with it,” Dershowitz added, “but this confuses what Congress can get away with with what Congress is sworn to uphold. Any member of Congress who votes to impeach President Trump without a finding that he is guilty of treason, bribery, other high crimes or misdemeanors is violating their oath of office.”
Dershowitz also compared House Democrats’ search for an impeachable offense to use against the president to the authoritarian behavior of the leaders of the former Soviet Union.
“What they’re trying to do is what the KGB under Lavrentiy Beria said to Stalin, the dictator — I’m not comparing our country to the Soviet Union; I just want to make sure it never becomes anything like that,” Dershowitz said. “Beria said to Stalin, ‘Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.’ And that’s what some of the Democrats are doing. They have Trump in their sights, they want to figure out a way of impeaching him, and they’re searching for a crime.”
Dershowitz went on to warn that Democrats have created “open-ended criteria which bear no relationship to the words of the Constitution itself” and that a potential impeachment of President Trump would set a precedent that will “weaponize impeachment, and the next Democrat who gets elected will be impeached.”
By the way, if you didn't catch it, Dershowitz is a Democrat who voted for Hillary, but nonetheless acknowledges the political corruption at play in this unconstitutional, abusive process. Probably why much of the mainstream is silent on this.
ADDENDUM: Similarly, on Tuesday evening, Levin tore into the phony impeachment efforts of these coastal Democrat bosses and their own abuse of power...
“The Democrats in the House of Representatives are violating the Constitution. They are not the highest law in the land; the Constitution is the highest law in the land. ...
The president of the United States is not obstructing Congress; he is engaging and confronting the Democrats in the House of Representatives. The president of the United states is not abusing power; there literally isn’t a single eyewitness to the president’s abuse of power; there literally isn’t a shred of reliable, firsthand documentation that the president of the United States has abused power. ...
It says everything you need to know that the headline isn't 'The President is accused of a High Crime' or 'Misdemeanor' [or 'Treason' or 'Bribery']. Try as they might, with professors and lawyers giving each other’s opinions, and bureaucrats from the State Department, try as they might, they couldn’t make their case under the Impeachment Clause of the Constitution.”
"Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress? ... Literally EVERY SINGLE MAN who has served in the Oval Office could be said to have abused power and obstructed Congress by the opposite party controlling the House of Representatives. Literally EVERY SINGLE MAN who has sat in that Oval Office and BEFORE there was a White House..."
We get too little GOOD NEWS these days, so here's some to share while the media work fervently with Democrats to suppress and distract you from all of AMERICA'S WINNING, thanks to this administration!
It’s the economy stupid — that’s what the Democrats’ Impeachment hoax is really about — a political tactic by the left to distract voters from Trump’s impressive economic achievements with an endless stream of illegitimate investigations that will gobble up the media’s attention.
Of course don't be deluded, we know the media want it that way...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and their comrades on the left know full well that despite the day to day political theater coming out of Washington — voters ultimately vote with their pocketbooks.
They vote with their 401ks, their pensions and their wages — all which have seen significant gains in the roaring Trump economy — ushering in prosperity like we haven’t seen in decades.
Also all of which have been in Dems' crosshairs for years...
As a result, Democrats are absolutely terrified he’ll get re-elected.
And have flat-out admitted such...
Just look at the latest jobs report out on Friday — a total blowout — exceeding Wall Street’s expectations. In November 216,000 nonfarm payroll jobs were created — much higher than the solid 187,000 jobs that were predicted. Average hourly earnings are up 3.1% from a year ago and we’re experiencing the lowest unemployment rate at 3.5% since Neil Armstrong landed on the moon in 1969, proving the so called “experts” wrong once again. ...
To date, the Trump administration has created a dizzying 7 million jobs, benefiting all Americans — especially the very same voters Democrats rely on to win elections. This includes black Americans who are enjoying historically low unemployment, Asians, Latinos, women and the disabled, who are thriving under the president’s America-first agenda.
It’s no wonder liberals have gone “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” launching one conspiracy theory and bogus investigation after the next against the president. They are petrified their “blue wall” will crumble come Election Day next November as President Trump is lifting millions of Americans out of poverty before our eyes. ...
It’s Democrats’ worst nightmare come true. A Republican politician who delivered on his promises that if elected, America would start winning again. The latest jobs report is continued evidence that’s exactly what’s happening.
Primed for a 2020 victory, and they're losing their liberal minds over it!
Ran across a great Federalist piece that's worth sharing on how today’s Left has become a bunch of ideological extremists...this won't necessarily help us understand them per say, but through this profile and list of associated links, it might help better define and identify just how radical their corrosive body politic has become, and perhaps even awaken a few more to a party that's left them...
They went from adoring Barack Obama despite his public position that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman, to passing laws preventing the opening of chicken restaurants because the deceased owner held the same position.
They went from “coexist” bumper stickers to suing grandmothers who preferred not to decorate a same-sex wedding.
They went from defending women’s autonomy to demanding women wax the genitals of men claiming to be women.
They went from e pluribus unum to intersectionality.
They went from encouraging people to be good, to incentivizing people to be victims. Now, some people want to be victims.
They passed new legislation clarifying that if a woman wants to kill her child the day before her due date, she can. If the baby somehow survives the attempted abortion, the adults are permitted to deny treatment to the baby. They can just let it lie there and cry until it’s dead, I guess. Women’s rights and stuff.
They went from working to get drugs out of schools to working to get drag queens and Planned Parenthood into schools.
They went from “believe women” to saying any woman who doesn’t want to share a shower with a man who says he’s a woman is a bigot. Then they went back to “believe women” when they thought it would help them oust a Supreme Court nominee they didn’t like.
...and there's no room for disagreement and nothing left to learn, because they claim “the science is settled” and “the debate is over,” so they stopped listening and started interrupting any event held by anyone who disagrees with them, in some cases violently, preventing the free expression of ideas they don't like. So we're left with this writers initial synopsis...
Anyone who denies the existence of an influential, mainstream, radical left in America today doesn't have any idea what the word 'radical' means.
It very much exists, visible day-in and day-out, regularly driven by like-minded media hounds and supported with like-minded political passage. Not your father's Democratic Party...and maybe not even yours once you really think about it.
We could review Gaetz & Jordan EXPOSING these smug law professors for the partisan Democrats they are and deconstructing this entire impeachment charade...
...or it's with Meadow's last line, "This is all about politics," that we could go straight to apparently the only courageous CNN contributor who explains how Democrats are wasting America's time on impeachment!
Let me skip to the end: The Democratic-majority US House of Representatives, in partisan fashion, is all but certain to impeach President Donald Trump. The Republican-majority Senate, in partisan fashion, will almost certainly acquit him. And the net result will be that Democrats will have abused the US Constitution to satisfy political passions instead of approaching impeachment as the solemn act the framers intended.
Let's be honest. The Democrats were always going to do this. From the minute we realized on election night that Donald Trump had won, they began fantasizing about nullifying the election results. Indeed, in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election, the Democrats' biggest concern was that Trump would not accept the outcome -- a Hillary Clinton win, of course! -- of which they were quite certain. And as it turns out, it was the Democrats who had no intention of accepting it. How odd that they have again become what they claim to detest about Trump. ...
So here we are with our partisan vote Thursday to approve a resolution setting rules for impeachment, and the process now underway at the direction of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. For months, Democrat talking heads portrayed Pelosi as a reluctant participant in this charade, someone who was restraining her party's most stridently anti-Trump elements. Poppycock. ...she was destined to do this, and this Ukrainian business was simply her last chance before voters began casting ballots in the 2020 election. ...
In the end, Pelosi is doing nothing but checking a box for the most partisan people in her party. There will be nothing to show for it but wasted time and a diversion of the nation's political conversation away from issues that real people care about.
But they don't care that they're blatantly impeaching President Trump over NOTHING, further misappropriating Congress's time and the People's money. So if that's how it's gonna be, then please, HURRY UP!
.....trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business. We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to “Clean the Swamp,” and that’s what I am doing!
....This will mean that the beyond important and seldom used act of Impeachment will be used routinely to attack future Presidents. That is not what our Founders had in mind. The good thing is that the Republicans have NEVER been more united. We will win!
“The Fourth of July is the exponent of independence and civil freedom, Thanksgiving Day is the national pledge of Christian faith in God, acknowledging Him as the dispenser of blessings. ...
Everything that contributes to bind us in one vast empire together, to quicken the sympathy that makes us feel from the icy North to the sunny South that we are one family, each a member of a great and free nation, not merely the unit of a remote locality, is worthy of being cherished. We have sought to reawaken and increase this sympathy, believing that the fine filaments of the affections are stronger than laws to keep the union of our states sacred in the hearts of our people." ~ Sarah Josepha Hale, the “Godmother of Thanksgiving” - c. 1852
There can be no doubt that God and Liberty are at the heart of this holiday and the reasons to give thanks...
Of the many influences that shaped the American concept of liberty, the first and most formative was faith. More than anything else, religion formed the backbone of colonial culture and defined its moral horizon.
This religious character was largely a product of the fact that many came to the New World in search of religious liberty—to freely practice and spread their faith. As a whole, America’s Founders were strongly religious. Thanksgiving proclamations, as official statements of the American president, underscore the Founders’ faith. Some were more traditional, such as John Jay and John Witherspoon. Some were more skeptical of religious institutions and doctrines, such as Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson.
But the vast majority of the Founders were firmly in the mainstream of religious belief. They understood God as having created man with an immortal soul, as actively involved in human affairs and as “the Supreme Judge of the world”—in the words of the Declaration of Independence.
The day after approving the First Amendment to the Constitution and its protections of religious liberty, Congress called upon the president to “recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging, with grateful hearts, the many signal favors of Almighty God.”
President George Washington responded by proclaiming Nov. 26, 1789 the first official Thanksgiving. He noted:
It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly implore his protection and favor.”
One can speculate about the details of each Founder’s faith. But we know the Founders as a whole took religious beliefs seriously and understood religion, Christianity in particular, was a necessary component of republican government.
That there are laws of God that exist prior to, outside of and above the laws of the state necessarily means the laws of the state are limited and controlled by a higher or transpolitical authority. Take the injunction in the Bible to “render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21). In other words, although man has responsibilities to legitimate government authority, the state must not negate or replace man’s responsibilities to God. The distinction demanded a space for other institutions—church and religious communities, families and tribes—to exist and flourish. The idea of human dignity, that we are created in the image of God, forms the theological underpinning of human nature and human equality—core principles of liberty.
The belief that all men are sinners is the theological equivalent of the commonsense observation that human beings are drawn to their passions and prone to be selfish. It also informs the political idea that no one is to be trusted with absolute power. At the same time, the idea that all are redeemable—that there is a divine spark in each person, as a young George Washington wrote in his childhood copybook—grounds the belief that all can govern themselves and are capable of justice and benevolence. These concepts in turn became crucial to the beginnings of liberty in America and creation of conditions favoring a yearning not only for self-government but for limited constitutional government. And for all of this we can give thanks.
O MOST merciful Father, who hast blessed the labours of the husbandman in the returns of the fruits of the earth; We give thee humble and hearty thanks for this thy bounty; beseeching thee to continue thy loving-kindness to us, that our land may still yield her increase, to thy glory and our comfort; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
“I don’t care if they’re wearing a military uniform or a suit or a dress. … A cabal is a cabal. And this is a cabal.”
Pegged! It's not only that President Trump wants his own people in these administrative positions carrying out his policies, you know, like ANY PRESIDENT EVER has been afforded! By the way, remember when Obama fired all of Bush's ambassadors! But it's becoming ever more clear that the Democrats are utilizing this cabal of disgruntled bureaucrats, who don't like Trump or his policies, to impeach the President on the most bogus grounds imaginable for the purpose of stopping the executive branch's investigation into their own corruption!
Throughout this impeachment charade we’ve been told by the media and House Democrats that a cadre of unelected career bureaucrats in the State Department and the National Security Council who are cooperating with the impeachment inquiry are heroes, patriots, and paragons of virtue and self-sacrifice for defying President Trump and proclaiming the truth about Trump corruption and self-dealing in Ukraine. ...
...we need to pause and ask whose policy priorities should count, the president’s or the career bureaucrats of the “interagency”? State Department diplomats and NSC experts serve at the pleasure of the president, not the other way around. What’s emerging in these hearings is an unmistakable attitude and ethos among career officials that their opinions and priorities about U.S. foreign policy should matter more than those of the president of the United States.
At the very least, House Democrats and the media should spare us the sanctimonious narrative that every impeachment witness is a selfless hero whose credibility is above questioning and whose every statement must be taken at face value. After all, we need look no further than the appalling display of other “deep state” bureaucrats connected to the Russia collusion hoax—former FBI director James Comey, his deputy Andrew McCabe, and the sneering former FBI agent Pete Strzok—for examples of craven, dishonest “deep state” bureaucrats who despise Trump and will seemingly do anything to undermine his administration.
Let’s not be surprised if some of the interagency figures now testifying in the House impeachment probe turn out to be just as dishonest, self-dealing, and contemptuous of the president’s authority to set U.S. foreign policy in Ukraine and determine what’s in the national interest.
Not to rehash the entire week's worth of questioned (and questionable) collaborators in Schiff's circus sideshow (minus the phony whistleblower, of course), but the Republicans, who stepped up to the plate to sit in these sham proceedings with very little resources or rights granted to them, have actually been extremely effective (even if the media doesn't let you know about it, or in some cases straight up contradicts the facts!) in pulling the quintessential information out of these witnesses and crumbling the entire crux of the Democrats' ever-evolving irrationale for wanting to impeach President Trump in the first, second or third place: no quid pro quo, no bribery, no extortion, no nada!
Neither is hearsay an impeachable offense...and by the way, superb scorekeeping from Turner by week's end, with a fantastic conclusion:
"You guys want to be the laughing stock of history to impeach a President of the United States, because he didn't take a meeting? Oh, please. Dear, God. Please undertake that."
And even ol' Schiffty gets the same out of 'em!
"I want nothing...I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zelensky to do the right thing."
So then why continue this charade? Ranking member Nunes has eloquently expanded on it across everyopening statement and everyclosing statement given daily, but I think it might be Jordan that's put it most succinctly:
"Democrats have never gotten over the fact that this new guy, who's never been in this town, never been in politics, this new guy came in here and is shaking this place up!"
Furthermore, the unfree press is just as much a part of this cabal...
“The legal analysts on TV will not tell you this: The American system and the American people have never ever seen a process like this, ever. It is thoroughly corrupt and tyrannical.”
So even with this big NOTHING burger that the Dems have now concocted, it's likely that they'll still proceed towards THE partisan of partisan votes to impeach a duly elected president and shuttle this phony charge to the Senate for trial in an election year, further dividing the nation like we've never seen before...anything to regain their power, oust ours, and damn sure keep us away from their filthy laundry, of which there is MUCH...
The Ukrainian timeline the Democrats and their media don’t want you to see ...https://t.co/kw35nuYjPI
With a corrupt party, an infected press, and assistance from Deep State bureaucrats in this attempted coup, their hope is that We The People break and bend to their will. However, there's really only one thing WE MUST do...and that is to DEFEAT THEM at the ballot box come 2020.
Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia: "Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?"
Dr. Benjamin Franklin: "A Republic, if you can keep it."
~ response attributed at the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when queried leaving Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation; included within Dr. James McHenry's notes, one of Maryland’s delegates to the Convention
For one, he continued, “not a single witness felt that the president committed any of those elements of impeachment” listed in the Constitution. “Not one, even those most friendly to the Democrats and hostile to Trump. Not one.”
Additionally, Levin added, “Not one of them had met with the president other than [Ambassador Gordon] Sondland. Only he met with the president. The others never even had a conversation with the president. They’ve never exchanged niceties, emails, texts, nothing.”
“In the case of Sondland, he had three relevant meetings and/or discussions with the president of the United States,” the host continued, “and he says [the] Biden name never came up, tying military aid to meeting with the president of Ukraine or announcing an investigation or conducting an investigation by Ukraine never came up, which underscores what Senator Ron Jonson has said in his meetings and phone calls with the president. He says the same thing: It never came up.”
“The president of the United States did not commit an impeachable offense,” Levin concluded. “Not even close. The president of the United States didn’t do anything wrong.”
