The Dallas Morning Snooze may have softened the blow, but it's apparent that Abortion Barbie has been lying about her personal life...oops.

Mediaite: As pro-choice icon State Sen. Wendy Davis continues her run for Governor of Texas, it’s only natural that the image she’s constructed for herself comes under public scrutiny. On Sunday afternoon, The Dallas Morning News‘s senior political writer called out the Democratic lawmaker for “blurring” key details of her personal biography as she attempts to lure voters into her camp.

Rush called it exactly what it is: LYING.



This on top of the belief that a one-time filibuster against a reasonably moderate abortion restriction bill somehow qualifies her to run for governor? Please prove her wrong, Texas.

UPDATE: Eric Erickson had a little update on this one tonight to the tune of Wendy Davis’ ex-husband asking a court to order her not to use drugs before seeing her kids!

RedState: News has broken that Wendy Davis lied about her background. She is now playing victim blaming Greg Abbott.

It is her ex-husband who talked to a left-of-center Dallas reporter. It is also her ex-husband who asked a Texas District Court to issue a temporary restraining order against Wendy Davis in 2003.

In that order, the judge ordered that Wendy Davis “be immediately restrained from...using illegal drugs or consuming alcohol within 24 hours before or during the period of possession of or access to the child.”

Speaking of the child, at the time her daughter requested her father serve as her managing conservator.

It appears that Wendy Davis did not just leave out key details. Nor does it appear that Davis is just being held to a different standard than a man. It appears there is much more to Wendy Davis than meets the eye.

Obama racebaits through his propagandized press

Shocker! Damn, whiteys...

Bloomberg: President Barack Obama said that racial tensions may have softened his popularity among white voters within the last two years, according to a story posted on the New Yorker magazine’s website today.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.

“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,” Obama said in his most direct comments on how race has affected his political standing since he’s been in office.

Obama’s second term has been marked by controversies including a partial government shutdown in October, revelations that the National Security Agency has gathered personal mobile phone data and the troubled rollout of health-insurance expansion.

Yes, you heard right. Instead of claiming responsibility for anything, this racebait was brought to you by a sitting President of the United States. And of course it'll be backed up by what Levin has coined the Pretorian Guard Media, which have become the stereotypical propaganda wing of this administration, as history has shown us throughout the multitudes of one dictatorial regime after another. Too bad we can't get the truth that more people dislike the man because of his destructive policies.

Now, I know many outlets will simply emphasize what Obama said about marijuana; but regardless of what side you fall on with that singular issue, I think we've got more to fret over and debate under the reign of this radical demagogue than that highlight being the takeaway from this interview. Like, say, a president getting whatever he wants, not based on the content of his character, but the color of his skin. I've gotta believe MLK would abhor this.

...botching every entitlement program: the war on poverty, the Great Society, the elimination of income and wealth inequality, you name it! And now Obamacare.

RedState: As House Republicans prepare for their aptly-named “GOP Retreat” at the end of the month, they are planning to make immigration the centerpiece of their legislative strategy. Both Politico and Roll Call offer a glimpse into their grand scheme. They will offer a lot of window dressing about enforcement and all the things the GOP base wants to hear. But ask yourself this question: why the urgency?

According to a new Gallup poll, immigration ranks among the lowest priority issues in the minds of voters. Only 3% listed it as a top issue, whereas most people felt the economy, jobs, and healthcare (Obamacare) were much more important. More strikingly, the largest plurality of respondents listed dissatisfaction with government as the most pressing issue.

With so many people prioritizing the problems pertaining to jobs, healthcare, debt, and big government why would anyone think it would be an electoral boon to push an issue so few people care about?

On the one hand, establishment Republicans have nothing else to do. With Boehner echoing Obama’s talking points today on the debt ceiling and with the Chamber of Commerce surrendering on Obamacare, there’s plenty of time to focus on less pressing issues.

However, ultimately, we all understand the urgency of this issue. Democrats want to begin creating a permanent majority, and Ruling Class Republicans want to butter up their money-handlers at the expense of the American people. They can then use that money to perpetuate the game of politics – the red vs. blue game – in pursuit of no worthy end-goal other than accumulation of power and money.

If you think that merely electing six more Republican senators of any persuasion – without rebuilding the party from the ground-up – will change this dynamic, you haven’t been paying attention.

We also understand the urgency to embrace Obamacare as well: control over all aspects of our lives, no matter which party lawlessly runs the country.

This leaderlessship must go this year, folks. And it must start with a new party.

Congress passes TRILLION dollar spending bill, heads to Obama for signature

TheBlaze: The Democrat-controlled Senate voted 72-26 Thursday to pass a $1.1 trillion “omnibus” spending bill meant to keep government operations funded until Sept. 30.

Having already passed the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, the bill now heads to President Barack Obama’s desk for final approval.

Unveiled on Monday, crammed through by Thursday. Nothing read. And that's bipartisanship? Representation without representation, folks.

ADDENDUM: Sen. Ted Cruz tried to offer an amendment to defund Obamacare and fund military pensions...his Republican colleagues joined Democrats in turning him down...

Today U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, asked for unanimous consent to pass one amendment to prohibit the omnibus spending bill from funding Obamacare, then a second amendment to defund Obamacare and use the funds to restore cuts to military pensions.



"This $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill is outrageous enough, but on top of that it provides direct funding for Obamacare, which is destroying jobs, killing insurance plans, causing premiums to increase and people to lose their doctors. We should defund Obamacare and focus our tax dollars on priorities that help Americans, such as restoring full funding for military pensions for the men and women who protect us. Instead, the Senate squelched any debate over Obamacare and proceeded to pass its trillion dollar spending bill no one has even read. The fact that the Washington establishment is hailing a massive $1 trillion omnibus spending bill as a worthy achievement is exactly what's wrong with our government today."

There was also an attempt in the House to defund the IRS in areas that would affect their ability to go after conservative groups...and of course, Boehner and his cronies blocked that, because, well, they want to destroy the conservative movement.

Unions give $765K to GOP 'Main Street' PAC

Think conservatives have RINOs stampeding? All the major political campaign components, the Chamber of Commerce, the Rove-talking-heads, and now they're tapping a Democratic favorite: unions!

Breitbart: Former Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH) was one of the more labor-friendly Republicans in Congress. Those close ties are paying off for him as labor unions are a major donor to his "Defending Main Street" Super-PAC, which is targeting conservatives in upcoming primaries. So far, unions have contributed $765,000 to support LaTourette's efforts. The figure represents 86% of the PAC's current cash-on-hand.

“Main Street is committed to electing solution-oriented, center-right Republicans to the House. We are grateful to the unions who want to help us do that and to paraphrase Rhett Butler — ‘Frankly, I don’t give a damn’ — about the criticism,” LaTourette told The Hill.

In recent months, segments of the GOP establishment have vowed to battle conservatives, especially those aligned with the Tea Party, in Republican primaries. There is a widely shared view in Washington that the Tea Party is making "governing" difficult for the GOP. Never mind that they wouldn't even be in the position to govern without the Tea Party, it seems short-sighted to attack one's core base of voters.

Given the scale of the union contributions to "Defending Main Street," it isn't likely that an endorsement from the group would be particularly helpful to a candidate in a Republican primary.

Could it be anymore apparent that establishment Republicans are desperate to hold onto minority status? I know...why? Just as long as they control it, they can collect the crumbs of bipartisanship (which means caving to Democrats), while satisfying the lib media (or at least dampening their usual blows). And they find contentment in that? There's nothing noble about it.
