A recent NR post quite effectively ran through the litany of LIES we've been fed by the unscrupulous actors in the world of politics...

Hey, remember when NPR reported in April 2020 that “scientists” had “debunked” the lab-leak theory? Remember when the Washington Post called the lab-leak theory a “debunked” “conspiracy theory”? Remember when Apoorva Mandavilli, a reporter covering Covid-19 for the New York Times, contended that the lab-leak theory was a racist conspiracy theory? As they used to say in that late ’90s Saturday Night Live parody of NPR, “Good times, good times.”

The George Orwell quote, “To see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle” is almost a cliché in journalism circles by now. But we get it, don’t we? As the world of news became an increasingly discordant cacophony, it became clearer and clearer that if you followed politics, national events, or the world stage, you’d run into a lot of shameless liars.

I don’t mean differences of opinion, exaggerations, understandable errors while speaking off the cuff, or predictions that later proved erroneous. I mean just flat-out two-plus-two-equals-five versions of wrong. I’m talking about things such as:

• John Fetterman’s doctor declaring, shortly before the lone debate in last year’s Pennsylvania Senate race, that he “has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office.”
• There are people who want you to believe that an octogenarian president has no significant restrictions on his ability to perform his duties. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden has so much energy she “can’t even keep up with him.” Our eyes and ears tell us otherwise.
• Karine Jean-Pierre also recently claimed that Florida governor Ron DeSantis wanted to block “the study of Black Americans.” Florida state law requires the teaching of African-American history; what DeSantis objected to was the portions of the draft of the proposed AP African-American studies curricula obtained by National Review that contended that color-blindness is a form of covert racism.
• The president defended his keeping classified documents in boxes near his Corvette at one of his Delaware houses because, “My Corvette is in a locked garage. Okay? So, it’s not like they’re sitting out in the street.” That does not come anywhere near the requirements for making a site secure for the storage of classified documents under the law. Biden also insisted that, “People know I take classified documents and classified material seriously,” after investigators found four separate batches of classified materials in four separate insecure places.
• Biden boasted, “We literally cut the federal debt in half by $1.4 trillion.” He did not do this literally or figuratively; the debt is $24.6 trillion.
• Vice President Kamala Harris insisted in October that, “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration.” A declaration that a secure border is a priority is not the same as actually securing the border. If the border were secure, fewer migrants would be trying to cross it; U.S. Customs and Border Protection would not be regularly experiencing more than 200,000 encounters per month.
• President Biden warned that voting laws in Georgia and elsewhere amounted to “Jim Crow 2.0,” and “an atrocity.” And then that state had record turnout in the midterm elections, and a University of Georgia survey found that zero percent of black respondents said their voting experience in Georgia was poor in the 2022 midterm election. Around 73 percent of black and white voters alike said their voting experience was excellent.
• Remember the contention in the Indianapolis Star that, “One of Buttigieg’s primary qualifications for a cabinet role is that he was the mayor of South Bend”? We were right to be skeptical!
• Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer insisted that the spy balloon traversing the entire continent was a “humiliation for China,” not the United States, even though General Glen VanHerck, the commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, said of past balloon incursions: “I will tell you that we did not detect those threats. And that’s a domain awareness gap that we have to figure out.” Wait, which country was humiliated again?
• Remember when the Chinese government was cited as a role-model for Covid-19 public-health responses — that China had “beat the virus and roared back,” as the New York Times put it? We knew China’s official numbers had no relation to what was actually happening on the ground!
• President Biden asserted that January 6 rioters’ chants somehow motivated or triggered the nutjob who attacked Paul Pelosi, instead of focusing on the consequences of several successive law-enforcement failures involving that nutjob.
• Maxine Waters praised Sam Bankman-Fried for being so “candid,” shortly before he was arrested and charged with defrauding investors, wire and securities fraud, and conspiracy to circumvent campaign-finance regulations.
• Does the New York Times follow “the lead of far-right hate groups in its coverage of trans issues”? An irate group of activists wants you to believe that.
• Even after independent, non-conservative journalism institutions such as the New York Times and the Washington Post verified the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it the “half-fake laptop story.”
• Everyone who assured you that your data was safe on TikTok? They lied, too.
• Randi Weingarten and other teachers’ union officials now talk about year-long school closures as this unforeseeable disaster for children’s education, as if she and her allies hadn’t led the fight to keep schools closed in late 2020 and almost all of 2021.

And those are just the recent lies; before then, the president assured us that the surge of migrants at the border was a routine seasonal pattern, that the Afghan army was well-trained and well-equipped and deserved our confidence, that we wouldn’t see helicopters evacuating people from the U.S. embassy in Afghanistan, that inflation was transitory, that the U.S. would not enter a recession, that the supply-chain crisis didn’t occur, that Covid testing would be easy and plentiful last winter, and that the infant-formula shortage would get resolved quickly. This is all separate from Biden’s implausible and in some cases indisputably falsified tales — that he used to drive a tractor trailer; that he was arrested protesting for civil rights; that he was arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela in prison and that Mandela later thanked him; that he was shot at in Iraq; that he personally confronted Slobodan Milosevic; that former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir wanted him to be her liaison to Egyptians about the Suez Canal; that as a high-school and college student, he went to both Catholic Mass and services in a black church every day, and so on.

It's time for Republican leaders to unwind all of these damnable lies and demand some kind of action towards accountability. The inevitable question is will they? Or maybe better asked, how will they with this amount of deception amassed over the past couple of years? Either way, may one-half of one-third continue shining light on all of the above for all our sakes, for the truth IS now out.

The patriotic love and freedom of Presidents’ Day matters

“The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.”

For those who still remember and desire to do so, today we celebrate Presidents' Day, where we recall the greatest of our leaders, two of the largest who happen to have birthdays in the month of February (Lincoln's the 12th, Washington's the 22nd), thus the reason for its positioning on our calendar. In a time of decadence and degradation, let those of us who still hold fast to the importance of tradition remember these titans' legacies, so that we might share it with our next generations in the hope that it can, and will, lead to a new birth of freedom...

It is now fashionable to deride our presidents as part of the woke deconstruction and desecration of America. Two of America’s most noble presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, whom Presidents’ Day honors most especially, are routinely scrutinized by the vandals running through our country and institutions. Why?

The two most consequential presidents are the ones whom the woke despise most. Washington is the “Father” of the United States. But what America is he the father of? The America of liberty, the rule of law, and defender of freedom or the America of racism, white supremacy, and historical injustices? Likewise, Lincoln held the union together, is remembered as the Great Emancipator, and ensured that a united America would stride into the next century in which the United States would be the great bastion of freedom against the totalitarianisms of modernity. Or was he guilty of perpetuating the sins of the past as is now becoming trendy to assert?

The hatred of Washington is very straightforward. Humans live by stories. Because we live by stories, Washington is the central figure in whom two stories of America can be told: the America of liberty, justice, and the rule of law or the America of racism and injustice.

While it is fashionable to deride critics as rewriting history, the truer understanding is that critics want to tell another story because history is alive through the stories we tell. The 1619 Project and other woke ideologues want to tell a story in which the America of liberty, justice, and the rule of law is replaced by the America of slavery, injustice, and racism. Washington stands on this crossroad because he is the first president after the Constitution’s ratification -- Washington must either be understood as a champion of liberty and equality or a complicit (if not explicit) defender of oppression, injustice, and white supremacy. The woke choose the latter story.

Hating Lincoln has become a newer fad, but for reasons understandable once the woke ideology is understood. At its core, woke ideology hates everything to do with America -- the historical America and the America of today which is the product of that historical legacy. Furthermore, in its hatred of everything to do with America, it celebrates everything not American: the alien, the foreign, the other. Lincoln need not apply.

Lincoln, because he represents the historic America, because he advanced the cause of Manifest Destiny at the expense of indigenous tribes, and because he represents the supposed “white savior” complex, is also someone who needs to be destroyed. In fact, Democrats in D.C. and in other states have already removed statues of Lincoln and want to remove more statues of Lincoln. Lincoln, therefore, in the story the woke tell, represents the continuation of the system born from Washington, the Founding Fathers, and America’s colonial heritage which the woke proclaim is bad, bad, bad.

This story of America as an oppressor writ large is pernicious on many levels. First, it inculcates a spirit of desecration into the hearts and souls of the next generation. Nothing can be built on hatred; hatred only destroys. Second, this story destroys individuality and agency by flattening everyone to historic actions which we are but the outgrowth expression of. It is meant to destroy notions of individual liberty and freedom by saying we are guilty of past actions or victims of past actions. Third, it negates the heroic sacrifices Americans have made, from settlement to today, in the advancement of liberty and justice for all -- both in America and for the world.

Presidents’ Day matters because it is an opportunity for us to honor those presidents who helped create a country where a constitution of liberty and the human spirit of ingenuity and freedom could be harnessed, unleashed, and cultivated. If John Lennon wanted us to imagine a utopian world, let us imagine a world without the United States. Let us imagine a world where the United States didn’t exist or the union wasn’t preserved and the totalitarianisms of the twentieth century couldn’t be challenged and defeated with the United States leading the crusade for liberty.

Americans need to reclaim the story of the United States as a country where the advancement of liberty, justice, and equality is part and parcel of our historical experience and mission. The United States has, and is, a country where a more perfect union is constantly becoming a truer reality. The United States has, and is, a country where the heart and soul of human liberty is nurtured and nourished. Washington and Lincoln stand as exemplars of inspiration in this regard, presidents who helped ensure this could become reality. We walk in their footsteps.

The attack on America’s presidents is an attack on the understanding we have of ourselves and what story guides our hearts and souls. Presidents’ Day is a reminder of what is good in America, the America of liberty that Washington so valiantly fought for and the America of liberty and equality that Lincoln so nobly stood for. That America would prove indispensable for the conflicts of the twentieth century where the human heart and soul was nearly destroyed by the totalitarian evils that so viciously and violently assailed the world.

We must ensure that America doesn’t slip into the totalitarian temptation. I mentioned that hatred cannot build but only destroy, since it lacks the nurturing spirit of love. The totalitarianisms that this noble nation helped to defeat in the past century were built on hatred -- hatred of Jews, hatred of capitalists, hatred of Christians, hatred of everyone not Aryan or communist. Washington and Lincoln stand to remind us of the power of patriotic love and duty, and how patriotic love and duty can, and will, lead to a new birth of freedom. In honoring them, we honor how patriotism nurtures the goodness in us that is called upon to make sacrifices for others.

What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

What we most need is another Ronald Reagan!

Monday marked the anniversary of President Ronald Wilson Reagan's birth. For some who are still coming around to Reagan, there's a great piece that reconciles some of the main conservative/libertarian concerns expressed over the years that I'd encourage readers to check out, regardless of whether you share them. However for us, the birthday of one of this site's favorite American presidents (in a presidential celebratory month already) has a lot to teach us about what we need most in our own troubled times: a love for America, a resolved leader to emulate that expression, another Ronald Reagan! The 99-year-old former Sec. of State, Dr. Henry Kissinger, beautifully addressed such sentiment at the Reagan Library's celebration of the 40th President's 112th birthday (excerpts to be enjoyed alongside PJMedia's Gwendolyn Sims poignant commentary)...

Ronald Reagan was an extraordinary human being and a hugely successful American president. As we all know Ronald Reagan was a truthteller and for this, he received the appellation of being a great communicator but he rejected that title saying, “I wasn’t a great communicator but I communicated great things. And [they] didn’t spring fully from my brow. They came from the heart of a great nation.”

He was too modest about the first part, but he was right about the second.

Reagan crystallized much of what makes this nation great. And just as importantly, much of what makes this nation good. His core decency was irrepressible. His personality was so compelling that a deep trait of his character — compassion — went sometimes unnoticed.

On the day of the attempted assassination on him, the grievously wounded Ronald Reagan recalled the parable of the lost sheep that he, and I quote, “began to pray for the mixed up young man who had shot me and to hope that he will find his way back to the fold.”

I don’t know about you, but it was right about here as I listened to the alternately frail yet somehow incredibly strong nonagenarian Dr. Kissinger that I began to have bouts of nostalgia wash over me, nostalgia for a time when the grownups were in charge and leaders were leaders. Compassion, goodness, and decency are not exactly what comes to my mind with most of our leaders these days.

Ronald Reagan was a fierce cold warrior and an avid and insistent peacemaker at the same time. For him, America’s international strength was not a national vanity nor an end in itself; rather it was a necessary instrument to produce flexibility and compromise by America’s adversary.

His abiding vision had a moral and strategic clarity; he refused to accept the proposition that leaders had to choose between the two. He was convinced that there is nothing which adversaries admired so much as strength and there is nothing for which they have less respect than military weakness. But he also knew that a country that demands moral perfection in its foreign policy will achieve neither perfection nor security.

After two years of Commander-in-Chief Weak Sauce and Chinese Balloon Week, it seems quaint to think our president could have “moral or strategic clarity” let alone be admired by our adversaries for strength — or anything really.

President Reagan was an inveterate jestor. It was his way of making it clear that he wasn’t taking himself too seriously and to keep his adversaries off balance. One story he loved involved an American debating with a Russian in which the American says, “In my country, I can walk into the Oval Office. I can hit the desk with my fist and say, ‘President Reagan, I don’t like the way you’re running this country.”‘ The Russian replied, “I can do the same thing. I can walk into the Kremlin. Go into [the] president’s office, pound the table, and say, ‘I don’t like the way President Reagan is running his country.'”

Another story he used to tell was [how] you can always tell the Communists from the anti-Communists. The Communists read Marx and Lenin. The anti-Communists understand it.”

During the Nixon presidency, I was the liaison of President Nixon to Governor Reagan. I had many occasions to exchange ideas. There was one occasion in which I told him in the 1973 war that we wanted to send planes to Israel and we were looking for a formula to do it without bringing on an even more united Arab attack. Reagan said maybe the way to do it is to say we will replace all the planes that the Egyptians and Syrians have said that they had shot down. This was an awe-inspiring number and met every requirement that we had for replacement — and it also wasn’t exactly accurate.

Remember when it was okay to laugh at ourselves? Remember when lessons could be taught gently but firmly and with humor? I do.

Remember when the Middle East wasn’t a powder keg — well okay, neither do I, but I do remember when that part of the world wouldn’t have even dare to dream of ambushing our soldiers, crossing our borders, or gleefully commandeering millions of dollars of our abandoned military equipment.

Reagan came to the presidency infused by his anti-Communist convictions. While in office, these never waivered but they were tempered by his enormous sense of responsibility for avoiding catastrophic war.

I had the privilege of some seventy conversations with him and many other occasions to see him in action in groups during his presidency. There were three convictions that never waivered: first, Reagan believed that America was most secure and prosperous if it was the leader in shaping a stable world; second, he believed that this stable world could not be based on American isolationism.

Reagan knew that America needed to be powerful in substance and in mind to protect world order — by force, if necessary. He never glorified strength in its own name. Rather, he sought it as a means to peace.

Thus, his favorite phrase was ‘peace through strength.’

There’s something to be said about being strong and truly believing in the principles that made America the most prosperous and free nation in all of history. Tuesday evening, President Biden will give his State of the Union speech and the thought of his expected obfuscations fill me with equal measures of queasiness and anger. How can this be where Reagan’s America ended up?

To this end, Reagan ordered an expansion of our nuclear capacity in the very early days of his presidency. He supplemented it with a program that was ridiculed when it was first put forward and which is now a standard part of our armory and that of our allies which was the Missile Defense Program. It is now one of the key elements. He always justified these efforts on the ground that [they] would lead to peace.

He was determined not to have a nuclear war.

He wanted to remove catastrophic weapons from the armories but he knew that it could never happen unless the United States possessed enough strength that it could overcome any military challenge. As a result of these efforts, in 1987, an entire category of nuclear weapons [was] removed from the armories. We, of course, were dealing with an adversary who was not always maintaining its commitments and so, this part of Reagan’s efforts, while substantial, has yet to be fulfilled.

He was in the strongest position of any American president that I have seen in action in his combination of commitment to defense and…to peace.

Unless we get a strong leader in the White House in 2024, I don’t see this situation improving. Do we really think China would’ve floated the Balloon Week challenge had President Trump been in the Oval Office? And let’s not forget, we have two more years of President Weak Sauce to survive go.

His willingness to face down challenges and his readiness to conduct negotiations on a human basis. At his first meeting with Gorbachev, he told Gorbachev a story about a 700 lb man who went on a diet and dieted himself down to 400 lbs. He could now walk from his bedroom to his living room. One of Gorbachev’s associates told me that the Russians went crazy trying to figure out what he was trying to tell them — what threat he was uttering in a polite manner. Finally, one of their intelligence people found that this was a story that Reagan had read in People magazine on the way to the meeting.

In a funny way, they found it very reassuring that in this conversation with this formidable American president was also talking to them on a human level.

Say what you want about President Trump, but the man could negotiate like no one since Reagan. And our adversaries feared and respected him.

On a more substantial side, when Reagan was recovering from the assassination attempt on him, he wrote a letter to Brezhnev who was then [the] Russian-Soviet leader in which he pointed out that the United States uniquely in the history of mankind was ready, had never used its power to impose its preferences on others; to the contrary, we used our power and wealth to rebuild the war-ravaged economies of the world — including the nations which had been our enemies. He said the same option existed for the Soviet Union.

As the American president, he would dedicate himself to bringing peace even while he was pushing the major rearmament of our military forces. He felt so strongly about it that he even offered to share our strategic defense capabilities if we could achieve a peaceful outcome with our enemies so that this kind of war could never happen. This attitude can be best demonstrated by his speeches about the Berlin Wall. In 1987, he made a speech at the Berlin Wall — I must say over the violent opposition of the State Department — in which he said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

Five months later he made another speech in which he said he was envisioning the day when he and Gorbachev would meet in Berlin [to] start taking down the wall brick by brick and that they would chair an effort to bring peace to the world. This even led to a joint statement by him and Gorbachev in which they said nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.

Of course, Gorbachev did not stay in office to be able to carry out these visions. We have to remember who brought us to the point where we could have them and where we could be strong enough to implement them.

As a kid who grew up under the threat of nuclear annihilation in the 1970s and ’80s, I for one was grateful for Reagan and Gorbachev’s efforts at de-escalation. Can our kids say the same about Biden & Co. today?

American leaders are often criticized as belligerent when they build defenses and weak when they practice conciliation. Reagan transcended this divide. Within ten months after he left office, the wall in Berlin came down much the same way as he had hoped — not with Russian cooperation — but through an accumulation of American willingness to stand for its principles.

President Reagan assumed office after a period of internal turmoil and international withdrawal; after years of protest over the Vietnam War; after the period of hostages in Iran; and [after] a period of domestic assassinations. He overcame these challenges with wisdom and serenity. He epitomized something that I wrote in a recent book that great leaders take their societies from where they are to where they have never been by their vision and imagination.

Today it’s Biden’s lack of vision and lack of wisdom that has led to turmoil and division.

Today we again suffer domestic division and international disorder about arguments about who we are and what we stand for. We find it difficult to muster the domestic cohesion necessary to face the challenges ahead of us.

In the Middle East, a hollowed theocracy is on the brink of developing the world’s most devastating weapons. In Asia, Chinese ambitions as the Middle Kingdom constitute a challenge to world order. Most recently, Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine shows no signs of abating. And at the same time, the evolution of artificial intelligence is transforming human consciousness itself.

Each of these pressing developments requires a combination of strength and conciliation.

In a recent book, Ronald Reagan was described as the peacemaker. As president, he understood better than anyone how to integrate the elements of power and the elements of conciliation. As he said in his Challenger speech, ‘the future doesn’t belong to the fainthearted. It belongs to the brave.’

The Left and Joe Biden wouldn’t know “conciliation” if their lives depended on it — even though they directly depend on it. While they understand “power,” they haven’t a clue about “conciliation.”

We need his civic face. ‘We are too great a nation,’ he reminded us, ‘to limit ourselves to small dreams.’

We need his vision. In his farewell address, he described ‘the city on the hill’ as he always said of our country as ‘a beacon — a magnet — for all who must have freedom; for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness toward home.’

It is in this spirit that I feel so honored to say these words about a remarkable president. To say at this point, what we most need is another Ronald Reagan.

Amen, Dr. Kissinger. We certainly do need someone with Reagan’s sensibilities, love of America, and who thoroughly understands peace comes through strength. I certainly have someone in mind and I hope he hears Dr. Kissinger’s call to action loudly and clearly.

When Saul of Tarsus set out on his journey to Damascus the whole of the known world lay in bondage. There was one state, and it was Rome. There was one master for it all, and he was Tiberius Caesar.

Everywhere there was civil order, for the arm of the Roman law was long. Everywhere there was stability, in government and in society, for the centurions saw that it was so.

But everywhere there was something else, too. There was oppression – for those who were not the friends of Tiberius Caesar. There was the tax gatherer to take the grain from the fields and the flax from the spindle to feed the legions or to fill the hungry treasury from which divine Caesar gave largess to the people. There was the impressor to find recruits for the circuses. There were executioners to quiet those whom the Emperor proscribed. What was a man for but to serve Caesar?

There was the persecution of men who dared think differently, who heard strange voices or read strange manuscripts. There was enslavement of men whose tribes came not from Rome, disdain for those who did not have the familiar visage. And most of all, there was everywhere a contempt for human life. What, to the strong, was one man more or less in a crowded world?

Then, of a sudden, there was a light in the world, and a man from Galilee saying, Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s.

And the voice from Galilee, which would defy Caesar, offered a new Kingdom in which each man could walk upright and bow to none but his God. Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. And he sent this gospel of the Kingdom of Man into the uttermost ends of the earth.

So the light came into the world and the men who lived in darkness were afraid, and they tried to lower a curtain so that man would still believe salvation lay with the leaders.

But it came to pass for a while in diverse places that the truth did set man free, although the men of darkness were offended and they tried to put out the light. The voice said, Haste ye. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you, for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Along the road to Damascus the light shone brightly. But afterward Paul of Tarsus, too, was sore afraid. He feared that other Caesars, other prophets, might one day persuade men that man was nothing save a servant unto them, that men might yield up their birthright from God for pottage and walk no more in freedom.

Then might it come to pass that darkness would settle again over the lands and there would be a burning of books and men would think only of what they should eat and what they should wear, and would give heed only to new Caesars and to false prophets. Then might it come to pass that men would not look upward to see even a winter’s star in the East, and once more, there would be no light at all in the darkness.

And so Paul, the apostle of the Son of Man, spoke to his brethren, the Galatians, the words he would have us remember afterward in each of the years of his Lord:

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Another election stolen, and we're gaslighted again...

"...and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail..."

Seems these days, judgment is what we must be experiencing as a nation, because I certainly have a hard time accepting what's being allowed. As suspected, two years later, we're met with the same chicanery from the same states producing the same results, and devastating the same democratic processes said to be held so sacred... It's surprisingly hard for so many to believe what is so blatantly obvious to some of us.

It appears Democrats are going to not only retain control of the Senate, but may pick up a seat and potentially have the power to take out the filibuster. The House, which was all but assured for Republican majorities for weeks before the election, appears to be heading toward giving razor-thin control to the GOP… and it still has a chance of remaining in Democrats’ hands.

The red tsunami didn’t materialize. Or, to be more accurate, it was stolen. That seems to be hard for many to accept as even some of the most outspoken conservative and alternative news outlets following the 2020 theft have gone silent on 2022. They’re blaming everything other than voter fraud for some reason. I’ve seen far too few outside of The Gateway Pundit, Wayne Allyn Root, and a few others in media who are discussing in public what seems to be blatantly clear...

Why are so many people who were absolutely certain the 2020 election was stolen suddenly blind to the fact that 2022 voter fraud was even worse? Only a precious few conservative and alternative media voices are even mentioning the notion of massive, widespread voter fraud.

The gaslighting isn’t just coming from the left. It’s coming even harder from the Republican Establishment that wants to blame Trump, abortion, “bad” candidates, or anything other than a coordinated attack on our nation and our Constitution.

Florida was NOT the outlier. Florida is what happens when voter fraud is quashed and actual voters got to have their say at the ballot box without late night dumps, computer “malfunctions,” and ballot harvesting schemes at nursing homes and cemeteries.

The polls are always wrong… in favor of Democrats. This is the first time in modern history when the polls, corporate media, and everyone else predicted a red wave and it didn’t materialize. It wasn’t that everyone was wrong. It was and continues to be outright theft.

I know there’s a lot of coping involved. Believing the 2022 election was stolen would be admitting that we no longer have a say in our government. Our voices are being quashed and there are no apparent avenues of recourse. But truth is truth. Stop coping. We MUST address this.

If you truly believe Pennsylvanians are so masochistic that they’d elect a guy who can’t form a sentence to the Senate, an Attorney General who promotes crime as Governor, and a dead guy to the state legislature, then you believe Pennsylvanians are absolute morons. They are not.

“It’s the economy, stupid.”

These words have always rang true. We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis of our lives and there’s ZERO chance America rewarded the Democrats with two more years of Senate control. ZERO. They stole it and so few are uttering those words.

They called us racists so we did backflips to prove otherwise. They called us terrorists so we stopped going to school board meetings. They called us insurrectionists so we stopped going to protests. Now they call us election deniers so we’re accepting these results. I won’t.

It feels like only a tiny portion of Americans are lucid and courageous enough to acknowledge the red tsunami was stopped by ongoing voter fraud. That means a majority of people are gullible, feckless, stupid, or a combination of the three. If that offends you, I’m not sorry.

The only for this nation, Lord willing, is that the same thing that happened with the jabs happens with voter fraud. It took far too long but people are finally waking up to the risks of the jabs. Maybe someday they’ll wake up and realize elections are being stolen from us too.

We are already being told to “move on” and the votes haven’t even been fully counted yet. This is worse than the 2020 steal...

Worse in affecting (and infecting) more states, but also worse that the fraudulence of unsolicited mail-in balloting is being openly instituted in these states as just part of the process now, issuing, coordinating and collecting months in advance, holding over until after the actual Election Day, then dragging out the count until reaching the necessary thresholds to produce the desired outcome days after the actual election.

Now to his credit, Biden did tell us that the plan was to steal this next election, even reminding us in a divisive speech the week before. So Dems went for the complete steal using the Biden bump strategy to secure crucial races. And as we're witnessing in Arizona and Nevada, it’s the slow-count vote-fraud technique in play to get there. So yet again, going into and coming out of another problematic election, we're being gaslighted for recognizing it.

When something is so obvious, if the outcome makes no sense, if the outcome is literally impossible, then it is what it is. Forget “proof.” You know it. You saw it. You felt it. You experienced it. It happened. It’s real.

The 2022 midterm was just stolen. Just like 2020.

If you disagree, you’re either delusional, or terribly naïve, or brain dead. Or you’re in on the fix.

It’s time to admit we’re all part of a massive experiment in fraud, theft, brainwashing, and gaslighting to a degree never seen in world history.

Think of all the times in just the past few years you’ve been gaslighted. They lied to you about open borders…they lied about Hillary’s 30,000 deleted emails…they lied about spying on Trump…they lied about Russian Collusion…they lied about a perfectly fine Ukrainian phone call…they lied about massive Biden corruption in Ukraine and China… they lied about the Hunter Biden laptop…they lied about the origins of Covid…they lied about the need for lockdowns and masks…they lied about the need for Covid vaccines…they lied about the vaccines being “safe and effective”…they lied and covered up all the deaths and injuries from the vaccine…they lied about the success of miracle drugs Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin…they lied about the stolen 2020 election…

You’ve been the victims of nonstop severe gaslighting for a decade now. You’re all part of a human psychology experiment in the limits that government and media can go in propaganda and brainwashing…while you can see they’re lying right in front of your eyes.

And these are the exact same people now telling you Democrats just over-performed, and stopped a GOP red landslide, against all odds, without cheating and stealing the midterm election.

Historically, every president in history facing his first midterm experiences a tough day with automatically 20 to 30 House seats lost…and 4 or more Senate seats lost…but this terribly unpopular President Biden is brain dead with severe dementia, and can’t put 3 coherent sentences together…Yet Biden defied history?

While also facing the worst economy in modern history…and the worst inflation in America’s history…and out of control crime…and open borders…and failing schools…and polls showing 75% of Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction…Yet Biden beat all of that?

We can run through a litany of suspicious circumstances from the polling that was miraculously defied, to the top issues (inflation, economy, crime, open borders) practically produced by the Dems, demographic shifts that benefited the GOP in across-the-board gains, the toxic environment produced by this administration (gas, groceries, rent, jobs, homelessness, did I mention crime?), and the one-man wrecking ball of a Biden presidency, all with effects felt throughout every corner of the nation. Yet, in the half-dozen or more states that altered their election laws in 2020, we're to believe that none of this seemed to matter? Whereas in law-abiding states like Florida [strict Voter ID, strict laws against voter fraud, severe prison terms for anyone caught trying to commit voter fraud, no mail-in ballots sent to every voter, no ballot drop boxes, no ballot harvesting, no ballots accepted for days after Election Day, no counting for days until the desired result is achieved by the Democrat Party], a red wave happened just as predicted.

These other bastardized bastions of democracy utilizing a system that's never been used before in the history of America, where it's evident something fishy just occurred, well, they tell us the under-performance was the fault of the conservative movement or something. Granted, there are fundamental problems within the Republican Party, much to do with its leadership, and a topic for another post; but when things don't align to this degree, the gaslighting and election theft (again) are too apparent to ignore. It's just too bad that the Republican leadership won't recognize it, which is yet another reason why the McStablishment MUST go.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. Common sense and a republic... if you can keep it!

As we're all busy with work, family, life, the ebbs have certainly overshadowed the flow around here lately. However, as we enter this year's midterm election cycle, a few thoughts occurred that should be mentioned beforehand. First, our current state:

Inflation in September 2018 was 2.3 percent. Four years later, in September 2022, it was 8.2 percent, a more than 3-fold increase.

GDP, picking time points four years apart, provides a similar view. Second quarter GDP in 2018 was 2.8 percent. In second quarter 2022, GDP was -0.6 percent, a 3.4 percentage-point difference.

Consumer confidence was hovering near 100 in 2018, and is now at 60 in 2022, according to the University of Michigan.

Average gasoline price is another metric, $2.25 per gallon in 2018 versus at $3.82 per gallon today.

Alien apprehensions by the U.S. Border Patrol increased from 311,000 in 2017 to 1.66 million in 2021, a more than five-fold increase. The latest 2022 data from the Associated Press is even worse.

Secondly, sense in general doesn't seem to be in high demand nor as common anymore, but we're definitely in desperate need of reclaiming it. And so, some timeless wisdom to ponder as we enter the polling booth in the coming days...

PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason. ~ Thomas Paine, introduction to Common Sense

It would behoove us all to review the text of Thomas Paine’s 48-page pamphlet, which he published anonymously (fearing reprisal) in February 1776. Paine’s wisdom applies as well today as it did back then, not because of his argument against the monarchy, but as a reminder that the self-government we championed then—and are losing now—carries responsibilities. ...

Paine aptly describes how a government must be formed, to have an orderly society

…because as the elected might by that means return and mix again with the general body of the electors in a few months, their fidelity to the public will be secured by the prudent reflection of not making a rod for themselves. And as this frequent interchange will establish a common interest with every part of the community, they will mutually and naturally support each other, and on this (not on the unmeaning name of king) depends the strength of government, and the happiness of the governed.

Clearly, we’ve grown away from that simplicity. A small populace governed by elected representatives people has become 340 million people governed by a nameless bureaucracy, plus a few elected officials who rarely aspire to represent most of their constituents. That part of Paine’s writing devoted to arguing against the concept of hereditary, kingly rule resonates now that we have what was then unimaginable: an ingrained, bureaucratic inflexibility of rule.

Do we have a president in the sense our Founders conceived? On the face of it, the president today can, by fiat, change any rule. The executive order that put a halt to the Keystone pipeline, and started our descent into energy helplessness is an example. He (or, in Biden’s case, his minions) can direct a corrupt bureaucracy to trample on the rights of the people he so inadroitly governs—a stark example is Biden’s continued imprisonment, without trial, in horrific conditions, of people who walked into the Capitol building nearly two years ago.

Paine’s writing reminds us that

Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by important; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any thoughout the dominions.

While that last was again written as an argument against the throne, it holds true now, perfectly describing Biden. Paine further asks this question:

Is the power who is jealous of our prosperity, a proper power to govern us?

Such a simple question. It is demonstrably true that those now in power work against our prosperity. We see this in our wealth’s diminution through predictable inflation caused by blatantly bad fiscal and social policy. We, and our government, forget that, as Paine quotes Dragonetti, on Virtue and Rewards,

The science of the politician consists in fixing the true point of happiness and freedom. Those men would deserve the gratitude of ages, who should discover a mode of government that contained the greatest sum of individual happiness, with the least national expense. (Emphasis mine.)

Paine further says that

The more men have to lose, the less willing they are to venture. The rich are in general slaves to fear, and submit to courtly power with the trembling duplicity of a spaniel.

It is time, I think, to stop trembling and watching our freedom slip away. In much of the country, this election matters more than any before it, and we must consider it a start toward reversing America’s downward spiral. Keeping the feet of those whom we elect to the fire is step two. Complacency is no longer an option.

And finally, as we inch closer towards these midterm decisions, the necessary course correction should become more in focus by the hour. One could think about the culmination of Democratic disasters over the last few years, but just thinking about the failures of the last few months alone is overwhelming! The stark differences between the two parties and what they stand for today could not be more obvious, so that poses the question: do we want a democracy or a republic?

One of the Democrat sound bites is that Republicans want to destroy our democracy. Someone should submit a few questions to them.

1. What is their definition of democracy?

2. Where is that definition in our Constitution?

3. Specify the actions Republicans propose that would destroy democracy as they define it.

4. Specify the actions Republicans propose that would destroy our Republic as defined in the Constitution.

The Democrats want mob rule. Sheer numbers. As for those in the minority, the Democrat elite will decide what is best for them. In reality, though, the Democrats will decide what is best for themselves and those who support them. That is not what our Constitution provides. Our Framers were meticulous in assuring that we were never to become a democracy. The Constitutional Republic they designed protected and preserved the views and opinions of all Americans, not just those who live in large cities.

The unfairness of the Democrats' view of democracy can easily be shown visually by electoral maps by county. Even the 2020 map shows that Trump won approximately five times as many counties as Biden, yet Biden sits in the White House (when not in Delaware). A few blue islands, consisting of some of our large cities, scattered amidst a sea of red. Maps of previous elections are similar. It is the concept of a republic that provides representation to that sea of red.

This is becoming more and more important as the Democrats continue to divide Americans. There is little credible argument left that the political views of the large Democrat-run cities have much if anything in common with the sea of red, or at least with the "ruling elite" of those cities. The Democrats act as if those who choose to live in the sea of red are beneath them in intelligence, that the Democrats know better what is best for those unfortunate sea of red dwellers. Their arrogance is finally becoming their undoing, even within parts of the blue islands.

Horrible inflation hurts everybody, especially those in lower income brackets, yet the blue guys keep on spending. A major cause of inflation is injecting new cash into the system. Rep. Clyburn (D) admitted that "we [Democrats] all knew" that their spending bills would increase inflation, yet they did it anyway.

Crime is out of control in many of our large cities, and especially in those run by Democrats. The Democrats in charge have hamstrung the police and elected prosecutors who won't prosecute criminals, generally adding to the chaos. The residents are starting to voice their recognition that guns are not the cause of the crime. The sea of red, on the other hand, prefers and provides law and order.

Immigration. That our border is wide open is seen live every day for those who care to see it. The blue guys see no problem with this, but the sea of red does.

Do the blue islanders actually believe they could survive on their own? Who would grow their kale and other vegetables? Who would grow their chickens, cattle, and pigs? Who would grow the wheat for their cooking and feeding whatever livestock they could manage to raise? Who would provide the fossil fuels still needed in a realistic world? Where would the massive factories for the beloved E.V.s and their batteries be built? Where do they think our military traditionally has come from? Where do they think our nuclear deterrent hardware is based?

The truth before us is that the Democrats want to destroy our Constitutional Republic and make America a mob-rule democracy, while Republicans want to preserve our longstanding Constitutional Republic. Republicans do not want to destroy our democracy, because we do not and never have had one. How does one destroy what doesn't exist?

The little blue islands may wish they hadn't started a tsunami in the overwhelming sea of red. It is ironic that the climate created by such unwise policies may actually result in a rising sea of red levels encroaching on the small blue islands. True man-made climate change.

This isn't to say that anything is certain, that our side isn't fully capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Nor is it to say there isn't some serious ditching that needs to occur for the sake of the party. What it is to say is that if you like your once thriving republic, there's only one way to keep it. Let's show up to make it happen.
