CNSNews: The number of Americans who are 16 years or older and who have decided not to participate in the nation's labor force has climbed to a record 90,609,000 in September, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The BLS counts a person as participating in the labor force if they are 16 years or older and either have a job or have actively sought a job in the last four weeks. A person is not participating in the labor force if they are 16 or older and have not sought a job in the last four weeks.

In from July to August, according to BLS, Americans not participating in the labor force climbed from 89,957,000 to 90,473,000, pushing past 90,000,000 for the first time, with a one month increase of 516,000.

In September, it climbed again to 90,609,000, an increase of 136,000 during the month.

In January 2009, when President Barack Obama took office, there were 80,507,000 Americans not in the labor force. Thus, the number of Americans not in the labor force has increased by 10,102,000 during Obama's presidency.

I thought the recession was long over? It's difficult to view this as shocking news considering the president & party in power and their foreign desire to grow the welfare state by quashing private industry & wealth under the jackboot of Big Government. However, it is shameful that what we're experiencing under exorbitant government regulation & oversight, crony-capitalism and increased welfarism is happening to such an exceptional nation, when it could be reversed by releasing the free market.

IBD: Canada's Supreme Court has ruled that under the "law of the land" in Ontario, a government board, not the family or doctors, has the ultimate power to pull the plug on a patient.

Lost in the discussion of defunding ObamaCare and the failed effort in Congress is the fact that failure means the government's ability to defund your life through the ObamaCare's Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) remains. IPAB is regarded by many, starting with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, as a death panel whose decisions based on cost effectiveness would result in health care rationing.

A glimpse of this brave new world can be had by casting a glance at our neighbor to the north. There, Canada's Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that under Ontario's Health Care Consent Act, which has been on the books for nearly two decades, doctors cannot overrule a family's wishes for an incapacitated patient regarding life or death decisions, but an administrative tribunal can.

In another decade folks will either be scratching their heads, wondering why they didn't listen to folks like Palin sooner...that or they'll be such beaten down subjects of the State that they won't question much of anything anymore.

Thousands of consumers get insurance cancellation notices due to Obamacare changes (UPDATE)

You can keep your insurance? Don't count on it (as if anyone reading this ever did)...

KaiserHealthNews: Health plans are sending hundreds of thousands of cancellation letters to people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies.

The main reason insurers offer is that the policies fall short of what the Affordable Care Act requires starting Jan. 1. Most are ending policies sold after the law passed in March 2010. At least a few are cancelling plans sold to people with pre-existing medical conditions.

By all accounts, the new policies will offer consumers better coverage, in some cases, for comparable cost -- especially after the inclusion of federal subsidies for those who qualify. The law requires policies sold in the individual market to cover 10 “essential” benefits, such as prescription drugs, mental health treatment and maternity care. In addition, insurers cannot reject people with medical problems or charge them higher prices. The policies must also cap consumers’ annual expenses at levels lower than many plans sold before the new rules.

But the cancellation notices, which began arriving in August, have shocked many consumers in light of President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their plans if they liked them.

By all accounts, it won't be better coverage, it will be more expensive, and 'good luck' being eligible for those supposed subsidies. Individual policies catered to individual needs...gone. If folks can't see this is heading towards single-payer one-size fits all, just take it from any number of decrepit lawmakers on Capitol Hill, like Reid or Conyers. Don't count on those caps either when your family's faced with higher premiums, deductibles and co-pays.

And the GOP establishment didn't feel the need to fight alongside Cruz and Lee to STOP Obamacare? Having more Americans harmed by this government seizure for the possibility of a political gain? Says a lot more about where their hearts lie (either meaning of the word) than their feigned outrage at the few genuinely principled statesmen on Capitol Hill.

But back to Obama's promise that you can keep your insurance. What a damn lie that was from the beginning. Whatever it took to sell it to suckers (in his eyes, in the Democratic eye atop the Hill, that's how the American people are viewed by these statists...or at least their own constituency).



UPDATE: From the still-hoping-it-will-collapse-on-its-own wing of the Republican Party leadership...

WashingtonTimes: House Speaker John A. Boehner predicted Wednesday that by the end of the month, more Americans will have lost their insurance by being kicked off existing health plans than the number who were able to sign up in the flawed online healthcare.gov website.

And the early numbers may back him up.



Kaiser Health News reported this week that hundreds of thousands of Americans have received notices from their insurers canceling their policies: 300,000 from Florida Blue and 160,000 from Kaiser Permanente in California.

Yep, very likely...which is why you should have been fighting tooth-and-nail alongside Cruz and Lee to STOP this disaster instead of caving with McConnell (and I'm not just talking about the latest showdown).

To Kentucky: retire McConnell, choose Bevin!

As the schism within the Republican Party has become blatantly apparent over the past month, particularly between the quisling leadership and principled conservatives, intentions are being charted out by the conservative movement in what some might deem a last-ditch effort to save the party from complete irrelevancy...starting with the Senate leadership...

TheHill: Sen. Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky.) primary challenger got a boost Friday with the endorsement of a prominent national conservative group, the Senate Conservatives Fund. But one other national conservative group, the Club for Growth, praised McConnell shortly after SCF jumped into the race — a possible indication conservatives may have some reservations about his ability to compete in a general election.

The endorsement of Matt Bevin comes just days after the fund blasted McConnell for his role in working toward a deal to end the government shutdown, charging in an email to supporters Tuesday that he was "leading the surrender" of the GOP.

The SCF explains that this particular election comes down to choosing between a 'courageous conservative' working class businessman and a nearly 30-year entrenched 'Washington insider':

"Matt Bevin is a true conservative who will fight to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country. Mitch McConnell has the support of the entire Washington establishment and he will do anything to hold on to power. But if people in Kentucky and all across the country rise up and demand something better, we're confident Matt Bevin can win this race."

SCF recently asked its members for their views on the Kentucky Senate race. Nearly 70,000 members completed the survey and 90% said SCF should endorse Matt Bevin over Mitch McConnell.

SFC also notes that it has endorsed Chris McDaniel (R-MS) for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi.

Now, there's no denying this will be an uphill battle with not only the establishment pulling for McConnell, but also a few tea party turncoats...yes, I'm talking about the disappointments of Marco & Rand! These two continue to betray principled conservatives like Cruz & Lee. Furthermore, in regards to McConnell, I'd have to agree wholeheartedly with Levin's accessment last night...

Sean Hannity called the hotline during his radio program and got through as well...only to discovered that people are being told that the website won't be accessible for at least another 42 hours! The hotline employee also tells Hannity that nobody likes Obamacare!

theRightScoop: According to Dana Bash, Ted Cruz was greeted by Republican women in Texas like a rock star the other night just before she sad down with Cruz for this interview. As someone from Washington, she said it was a little surprising given the animosity toward Cruz from some Republicans there. But Cruz reiterated that he didn’t go to Washington serve the party bosses, but to serve 62 million Texans and that’s what he intends to keep doing. And he kept that perspective throughout the entire interview despite Bash wanting him to talk about the fire he’s been getting from other Republicans.

And per all the disaster reports about Obamacare's failed rollout, even among those doubting Cruz's methods...I'd say he's being vindicated hourly!

President Obama was very confused in his speech early Thursday. He thinks America is some kind of dictatorship. He doesn't want bipartisan, he wants to rule with an iron fist. The issue here isn't bipartisanship - it's the constitution! Obama asks the Nation to stop paying attention to the bloggers and talk radio. So, we're supposed to ignore our First Amendment right and only focus on him? The bill of rights was created to protect us from the likes of him.

He welcomes debate--but only when there is nothing left to debate and he has nothing left at stake.

Rush asks why GOP focuses on Ted Cruz and not ‘incompetent’ Obama? Imagine if we had 45 Ted Cruzes in the Senate!

Rush posed an excellent question for the Republicans this morning: why focus on Ted Cruz and not Obama?

"You know, with all due respect for those of you inside the Beltway, those of us out here don’t understand why you look at Ted Cruz as your number one enemy and not Obama — and why you look at Mike Lee and Cruz and maybe even Sarah Palin or talk radio or RedState or whoever. Why are we the enemy? We’re not doing anything. Barack Obama has got the wrecking ball. Why can’t you people focus on Obama? That’s the question we ask ..."

"We out here are wondering why you're so afraid of us and Ted Cruz, and you don't, I mean, you don't even get anywhere near criticizing Obama the way you do Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin and other upstarts. And we scratch our heads over this, because we don't look at ourselves as the enemy. We think we want the same things you do. Maybe we don't. The same can be posed towards their projected resentment and outright viciousness towards the tea party versus their actual political opponents on the Democratic side of the aisle.

But Rush wasn't done there. He also pointed out what else the entirety of the Washington establishment missed...something the media certainly doesn't want to point out, but something that all of us outside the Beltway see with clarity...

If we had 45 Ted Cruzes in the Senate, we’d come close to winning every vote — and that’s what everybody outside the Beltway sees — and I’m telling you, and particularly the Republicans insides the Beltway do not. They look at Cruz, and they’re embarrassed, and they hope nobody thinks that they like Cruz — and I’m talking about the inside-the-Beltway, conservative media types."
